Benson's POV
We had been on the move for nearly two hours and were almost at the Royal Kingdom. The whole journey the mind link had been quiet, we didn't want to be distracted incase we became ambushed. As we came to the last set of trees, we peered through to see a massive wall that looked as if it went on for miles. How we were supposed to get past that I had no clue but knowing Jake and William they would have had a solution. Behind the wall you could see a massive palace set further back almost in the center of the territory. Not to sound like a girl but it really did look like something out of a fairytale. From here it looked as if it had six towers each coming to a point on the roof, a flag with the royal symbol flying from each tower. Grand windows lined the white brick wall which faced us so I could only imagine what the other side and interior would look like. To the top of the palace were what looked like a balcony which went the entire length of the palace and walking along it must have been four guards and that was just one wall. If he had wolves guarding the top half like this, then goddess only knows what we are going to face when we get over the wall.
"Right everyone, there is a small section of wall that I know hasn't been repaired as it sits right to the very back of the Kingdom. That is going to be our entry point. We will need to be in human form to do this and we will need to help each other over, as you can see its high. Ok… everyone stay low, stay quiet and follow me." I turned around to see William had shifted back to his human form before instructing us on what we were to do next.
Quietly we made our way to William's entry spot. Immediately I could tell why he had chosen this area. The twelve-foot-high wall was in such bad shape, half of it had collapsed and by the looks of the moss that had grown over the ruins it, I could tell not a single soul had come here recently. William was right, no-one had remembered this part was broken as it wasn't even guarded making it the perfect point of entry.
"If it were that perfect Marie wouldn't have been caught" Rocky had a point, although in the stories my mum would tell me growing up, there were more than one entry into this place.
"I think Marie found different route leading inside. There isn't a touch of her scent here and this moss looks really old let alone undisturbed. I bet my life on it" I told him.
As we each climbed over the wall, we immediately shifted into our wolf forms. All except Jake. For some unknown reason he was on the phone, what in the world told him this was the time to make phone calls was beyond me. But he was our Alpha and not our place to question him. As he got off the phone, he had a conflicted look written all over his face, it was clear whoever was on the other end of the call had given him some unwelcome news. Deciding it best not to press him, I followed William and the others along the edge of the wall keeping in the shadows so not to be seen.
Out of nowhere Henrik appeared next to William, I knew witches could cast powerful spells but wasn't aware they could send themselves places. Watching as Henrik handed what looked like a vile of pink liquid to William I was floored by a sharp pain in my side. The pain lasted only a few seconds, I had never in my life experienced anything like it before. Though the pain was gone I had this feeling in the pit of my stomach that told me something was wrong, that I needed to get to Alice.
"Jake something is wrong I need to leave" I said pulling him aside.
"Look, something has happened yes, but I promise you man its going to be ok" He couldn't look me in the eyes, so I knew he didn't believe the bullshit he was trying to tell me.
"It's Alice isn't it. What's happened Jake?" I was starting to become worried.
"She fainted in the dining room, one of the omegas got her to the hospital; the pup is fine and so is she. Turns out the moment we left she demanded to help out in the kitchen with the cooking and cleaning. Dr. Jones called me earlier, she said Alice will be fine but she's keeping her in till we return to stop her over exhausting herself again. Alice was in the background and screamed not to tell you. I'm sorry man" I couldn't believe Alice was willing to risk her health and that of our pup just to keep herself busy. I was certainly pissed but understood how bored she must be, she had gone from taking part in training every day along with other activities to nothing.
"Jake you can't keep this kind of thing from me man, if something was to happen, I don't know what I would do" I rubbed the back of my neck relived nothing bad had happened.
Jake patted me on the back reassuring me things would be fine. Trying to push my worry aside so I could refocus on the mission at hand I found myself walking up to William needing to know what the hell was in the vile Henrik handed him. William told me that after Jason escaped our dungeon, he had the doctors test his blood that had been left on the cuffs that restrained him before they were cleaned. He said that Jasons blood showed traces of magic meaning he had help from a witch. The witch in question had made him some kind of potion that once drank would increase your healing and strength. It was the only explanation as to why his cell bars looks mangled. A few of the guards actually thought the hulk had been down there. I asked him why he needed it being as he had gifts of his own, but he assured me it wasn't for him, he had it made for Nick.
Angels POV
Once we were over the wall, we had followed my dad further into the Royal Kingdom. I hadn't been here since I was two and didn't remember it in the slightest. Seeing the palace however, I remembered my mum holding me on the balcony singing a lullaby as she rocked me to sleep. Her voice was soft and would calm instantly, I loved it when she would sing. How I had this memory, but no others were beyond me.
"It's because of this place. Your mum died here and because of that her essence marked this territory. I think one of our gifts allows us to relive our happiest memories in a place marked by that essence" Star spoke through our mind.
"How do you know this Star?"
"I can't explain it, but I can feel her wolf Diamond, her spirit lingers though they are at peace. It seems a slither of them remained" I was sure Star knew more than she was telling me, yet I figured she would tell me when the time was right.
I knew I would come into my gifts eventually though I really wished I knew what they would be. Hunter came up behind me nuzzling into my neck the sparks it sent shooting through my body made me weak in the knees. Pushing him away Hunter growled, as much as I loved him this was the wrong time and wrong place to become distracted. As he stomped off like a big kid, I sent him a mind link telling him I loved him and when today is over he could nuzzle into me as much he wanted.
We had been keeping in the shadow of the wall until dad suddenly stopped in his tracks. Looking to where his gaze sat, I noticed Wayne speaking with a few guards. He seemed to be giving them orders as they each ran off into different directions. Wayne was a snake he was the kind of person that would take sides with whomever seemed to be wining. His luck however had run out, even if he turned on Jason at the last minute, he was a traitor and his life would end along side his alpha. Though I felt bad for his mate and the pups she carried, there was no way he was getting away with this. Hunter stepped forward gesturing for half of us to follow him while the other half was to follow my dad. This was the part of their plan I dreaded. Splitting into groups was a good idea yet I couldn't help but feel something bad would happen with our strengths divided. Knowing my dad could handle himself I went with Jake, we were mates and we were going to face this together.
