Jake's POV

　　The second I heard Star yelp I felt a wound open on my back causing my heart sank into the pit of stomach, I could only pray to the goddess that the knife hadn't been laced in poison. Getting to her as quick as I could Hunter gave me back control so I could shift and pull the knife from her back. I watched as her Stars back healed letting out a sigh of relief knowing it was only a silver knife nothing else. Suddenly, a silver wolf flew into the man that stabbed Star tearing his throat out before knocking his now limp body aside. I couldn't believe my eyes; I knew silver wolves existed at one point in time, but they were thought to be extinct.

　　"Moon Protector" Hunter told me, I bowed my head to it as a thankyou and a sign of respect.

　　Star jumped back onto her paws and looked at the silver wolf before nuzzling into it causing me to let out a low growl. This wolf may be a Moon Protector, but they had no right to touch my mate. As I stood up I stepped over dead and injured wolves in order to get to the silver wolf, William stepped in my path stopping me in my tracks.

　　"Jake, stop she means Angel no harm I assure you" William tells me trying to stop me.

　　"Corridor is secure, ready to move on. Alpha Jake, is everything ok?" Alpha Rick asked walking up to me while eyeing up William blocking the path to my mate.

　　"I don't know Alpha Rick; William I'm only going to ask this once. Who is she?"

　　"I'm afraid I cannot tell you, at least not yet but you have my word she means us no harm" he replied.

　　"Jake its ok! Its Rita" Angel walked up behind William her arm looped with Rita's.

　　"How is this possible?" I asked Rita. I was shocked growing up we had always believed her not to have a wolf, even now I couldn't smell any wolf in her.

　　"You can't sense my wolf Alpha Jake because I don't have one, I am my wolf. It's a long story one of which I will happily explain when we have finished here, but for now let's focus on getting Nick, finding Jason, and returning Ma… lets go" Rita tells me stopping mid-sentence as if she was about to say something she shouldn't.

　　"Rita wait! Return who? Marie? She's dead" I tell her.

　　"Please Alpha I will explain in due course, but we have to go" she replied shifting back into her wolf form before leading us out of the corridor.

　　Could Marie really be returned? She was dead and I knew as well as anyone that once you were gone that was it, there was no coming back. All I could do was try and get this over as quick as possible so I could get the answers I needed.

　　As we exited the corridor, we found ourselves at the top of some steps that looked as if they led into an underground tunnel. The air felt damp and cold as we walked through it. It was pitch black down here, so we needed to use our heightened sight to see where we were walking. If I had to guess I'd say that having no lighting was a precaution, had a prisoner escaped after being tortured they wouldn't be able to see meaning they wouldn't get far and would be recaptured.

　　As we reached the end of the tunnel Rita halted before turning to look at us while nodding her head towards the door. Using my enhanced hearing I listened carefully and was just about able to make out what Jason was saying.

　　"Have a nice dream Nick? What did you dream about? Oh, wait let me guess…. You thought that Henrik had saved you and that I killed William" We heard Jason say.

　　"He can keep on wishing" William chuckled quietly.

　　"They don't know we're here. We have the advantage lets end this" I whispered.

　　Quietly opening the door while praying it wouldn't creak, we each edged into the brightly lit hallway. We had been over this plan plenty of times preparing for this moment. Nodding to William he knew he was up.

　　Angels POV

　　As Jake nodded to my dad I felt my nerves kick in, it was finally time. Breathing in Jakes scent I felt myself calm allowing me to focus on what we were about to face. Following Jakes lead, myself, and everyone else other than my dad shifted into our wolf forms. Preparing for what we were about to face I let out a breath before watching as my dad clicked his fingers making the door to Uncle Nicks cell fly off and into the room. Without a second thought, we charged into the room to find Jason and another man standing behind Nick. Taking in Uncle Nicks appearance made me feel sick and Star whimper. He looked broken and knowing that he watched as his wife and mate had been violated then murdered in-front of him, I could understand his pain. Jake circled Jason and the man that stood with him while Benson circled them while walking in the opposite direction. Sid had shifted into human form before standing in front of Star holding up a blanket allowing me to shift back without Jason seeing me body again.

　　Wrapping the blanket around me, I stepped out from behind Sid and walked towards Uncle Nick. Kneeling in-front of him I used my wolf's strength to break his chains before helping him stand to his feet.

　　"I've got you Uncle Nick let's get you out of here" I tell him before hearing the snapping of bones only to realise that Jason and the other man had now shifted into their wolves.

　　As Uncle Nick and I edged towards the door, Jasons wolf had knocked Jake out of the way and was charging for me. Sid was quick to shift back into Tan intercepting Jason before he could reach me. The sound of snarls and howls filled the room as the fighting turned into an all-out brawl. Benson and Alpha Rick had rendered the wolf with Jason unconscious with ease before becoming distracted by a whimper from Jasons wolf as he shifted back into human form.

　　"Which one of you think you have it in me to kill me then aye? Look at you all, why couldn't you just cut your f**king loses and stay away" Jason roared.

　　"You know why" My dads voice loud as he entered the room.

　　As my dad walked in Jason stood from the floor when he had fallen. I could have sworn that just for a second, he looked scared. Watching as my dad lifted his arm, Jason began to gasp for air which meant his windpipe was being restricted. Out of nowhere a small brown wolf ran into my dad causing him to tumble losing his hold over Jason. The brown wolf ran to Jason shielding him from us. Shifting back into Star I charged at the wolf that would protect this monster only to be knocked into the wall by Tan. Jake rushed to Stars side making sure nothing had been broken by the impact.

　　"SHIFT BACK NOW" Jake roared, his anger rolling off him at the attack of his Luna.

　　"Sid what the f*ck did you just do" Benson shouted.

　　Sid just stood there looking at the small wolf. The look on his face told me all I needed to know. This wolf defending Jason was his mate.

　　Jason knew immediately they were mates and began laughing at how the situation had taken a turn.

　　"Well, if this isn't a change of events. You won't hurt her and as she protects me, what ever will you do now?" he smirked.

　　The brown wolf looked to Sid an apologetic look on its face before turning to look at Jason with a growl. As Sid stepped closer the wolf shook its head. Shifting back into human form stood a girl around my age with mousey brown hair and green eyes. She had a scar on the side of her face and looked to be healing from a beating she had received.

　　"Please don't do this… I know he's a bad man but he's my dad"
