Jake's POV

　　"F*ck" I muttered while shaking my hand out.

　　"Where the hell did he come from? Did you see the size of his wolf?" Angel asked while checking my hand.

　　"Babe please I'm fine. That f*cker was huge. I didn't sense any alpha or other rank in him so how the f*ck he came to be that size is beyond me" I told her while looking for some rope.

　　Angel mind-linked William while I secured the wolf with the help of Alpha Rick. He to was surprised when I told him that his wolf was bigger than Hunter. Even in human form the guy was large. Being an Alpha, having a larger build was in my DNA but this guy wherever he came from was slightly bigger than me and boy did he pack a punch. He had rendered Hunter unconscious making me force the shift back into human form. As Rick and I dragged his sorry arse to the interrogation room we heard banging from the next room.

　　"On the count of three open the door, be ready for anything" Rick told me as I got into defense stance.

　　"One, two, three…" Rick threw open the door.

　　Turning on the light in the room was Wayne and an unconscious female cuffed and gagged to separate corners of the room. I ran to the she-wolf to check for a pulse, she had one, but it was weak. Rolling her onto her back I could see she was pregnant.

　　"Please tell me she's ok" Wayne's dry voice shouted across the room.

　　"Her pulse is weak; she needs a doctor" I told him as I picked her up.

　　Carrying the she-wolf bridal style I ran towards the Royal Packs hospital as quick as I could trying my best not to lose my balance. While on the way I mind-linked Angel to let her know the unknown male was secure but that he was unguarded as we had found Wayne and his mate, that and she was in a bad way.

　　"Alpha, please place her on the gurney" A nurse ran towards us giving a quick bow.

　　Wayne followed the nurse into the side room leaving me and Rick in the waiting area. The Royal hospital was a lot bigger than the one I had back at the Moonlight Pack. The waiting room had its own coffee bar which was something I had never seen in a hospital before, I always assumed vending machines that dispersed hot drinks to be a standard thing. This was certainly something I would look into when we got home, I was always looking for ways to make improvements to my territory.

　　After an hour Wayne came into the waiting room, he said the doctor was able to stabilize his mate's heartrate and that they would be keeping a close eye on her over the next couple of hours. He said that if she stays in a stable condition then they would give her a c-section, she was having twins which was dangerous on its own being as she held an omega title however with the injuries she sustained and the fact she was severely underweight could cause her body to shut down either before or during labor naturally.

　　After wishing Wayne well and asking him to keep us updated I headed back down to the interrogation room while Alpha Rick returned to his room.

　　"Wake up!" I roared at the man as I threw a bucket of water over him.

　　"You and your mate will die for what you have done to me, you will both suffer, and it will be glorious" he spat earning himself another punch.

　　"Who are you and who sent you, be warned my patience is wearing thin and I don't do well with insubordination" I say as I walk around him using just a hint of my alpha tone.

　　"Jake Anderson, yes I know exactly who you are. If you think you scare me then I'm afraid you are mistaken. Who I am is nothing to do with you. Now here's what's going…. uph"

　　"Now, unless you want the next blow to be somewhere lower than the stomach, I suggest you stop pussy footing around and tell me what the f*ck I want to know"

　　"What do you want with me?" Angels soft voice came from the doorway taking my attention away from our guest.

　　Walking towards her I whispered, "Babe you shouldn't be here" only for Angel to give me a look that said, 'as if you're going to stop me' and walked around me standing directly in front of the man.

　　"Answer her" I told him kicking his leg hard enough to break it.

　　The man just stared at Angel like she was a piece of meat, no emotion nothing. Even when I broke his leg nothing. Something defiantly wasn't right about this whole thing. I mind-linked William asking him to send a doctor down here. I was into science by any means, but I knew if they ran his blood, they would certainly find something to give us some sort of indication as to what we were dealing with.

　　Just as I went to strike him again, I felt the link between me and Sid open.

　　"Alpha I need your help" Sid's voice rang out, a felling of worry and fear flowed through me.

　　"Sid, what the f*cks going on?"

　　"It's Ariel, Tan tracked her scent to vampire territory, we found where she had been hiding out, but it looks ransacked"

　　"Are you sure it wasn't her looking for something?"

　　"I'm sure, there are drag marks out back, but something isn't right, there are wolf tracks along with that of the scent of a wolf, but its scent seemed off. Tan thinks they aren't full wolf"

　　"Ok, something is definitely going on. An abnormally large wolf tried to attack Angel and doesn't show that he feels pain and your wolf thinks there are part wolf part f*ck knows what running around. Sid, I know you want to help Ariel, but we need to know what we are dealing with first. A doctor is on their way here to take blood and run tests on it, we will know what he is soon enough. For now, please for the love of the goddess just find somewhere to lay low and keep hidden. I will let you know the moment I get the results"

　　"Yea Alpha…. And Jake, I'm sorry. Please tell Angel how sorry I am"

　　"You can tell her yourself you're her Gamma man the f*ck up, but Sid, I mean it lay low. I will contact you soon"

　　Closing the mind-link between myself and Sid, I turned my attention back to our 'guest' . I felt more stressed now than I had before speaking to him, I need information out of him, and I would make sure I got it one way or another. Sid wasn't only a part of my pack, but he was my friend and now that he had found his mate, regardless of her rejection, I felt a need to help her. As I walked back towards the man cuffed to the chair my eyes widened at his appearance. His eye was busted with blood running down his face, his node dislodged, and his other leg now also broken. I turned my gaze to Angel who looked extremely pleased with herself whilst she washed the blood from her hands in the basin in the corner.

　　As I was about to confront her on her interrogation the doctor walked in bowing his head to us as a sign of respect. I my not be his Alpha but it didn't mean I wasn't to be respected the same. As he approached the man, I watched him as he calmly took the equipment he would need from a bag he bought in with him. It was obvious he had been down here many times before and if he hadn't then he did a good job of hiding it.

　　Angel came and stood by my side as we watched together how the doctor tied the rubber band around the man's bicep before taking a butterfly needle and a few bloods specimen bottles out of the bag filling each one to the top. Not once did the man flinch though I did catch his eyes fall on the neck of the doctor. He could be looking at his mark, yet it could be for another reason. One thing stuck in my mind causing Hunter to stir, the only thing I had ever known not to feel pain was a vampire.

　　"Wolves DON't mate with vampires" Hunter growled.

　　"Wolves aren't normally mated to witches but look at Henrik" I told him causing him to snarl before laying down and ignoring me in my mind.

　　Things were changing I knew they were and so did Hunter, he just didn't want to believe it. When we are finished here, I'm going to see if either Angel or William has a way of contacting Selena, maybe she could give us an insight to what's going on. Even if she couldn't it was certainly worth a try.

　　"Alpha Jake, I have all I need from him. I will take these samples straight to my lab, I have a series of theories I want to test. I shall inform you as I get the results" The doctor told me; his face cold as he spoke. Almost robot like.

　　"How long will it take; I'm afraid time is something we currently do not have" I told him, my voice held both authority and annoyance.

　　"If I put a rush on them then approximately two hours" he spoke firmly as he turned to walk away.

　　"Unacceptable, I want them in one hour"

　　"Yes Alpha Jake, good day to you" he bowed his head before leaving the room.
