Jake's POV

　　The doctor that took the blood samples was really beginning to get on my nerves. The hour time limit I gave him had come and gone yet I hadn't heard anything. Angel wanted me to give him time as he probably had more tests than we thought to run. That may be, but I gave him a deadline and he failed. As I got to his lab I was fuming. It was in pure darkness, not a single light was turned on and he was nowhere to be seen.

　　"Something isn't right. Put out an alert, I get the feeling he knew more then he was letting on" Hunter growled in my head.

　　"I f**king knew something was up, he was too calm when he took the blood. Come to think of it he didn't bother to ask what the reason for the tests was" I growled in return

　　Doing as Hunter said I sent a mind-link to William informing him of the doctor and asked him to get someone to find him. Just as I turned to leave a noise came from inside of the building. Looking into the glass window I could just about make out a moving shadow leaving the room. Whoever was in there didn't know I was here, but they would shortly.

　　Using my strength, I pulled the door from its hinges as quietly as I could and placed in on the ground. Sticking to the shadows I entered the room and heading in the same direction as whoever was here. As I entered the hallway, I caught the scent of the doctor and followed it down two flights of stairs.

　　"This goes underground keep your wits about you" Hunter's voice the only sound around.

　　Sometimes I thought my bloody wolf thinks I'm a moron judging by the way he speaks to me.

　　"Only sometimes" Hunter laughed to which I rolled my eyes.

　　As I reached the bottom of the stairs, I watched at the doctor opened a safe that had been built into the wall. It looked to be filled with files and test tubes filled with a variety of liquids. Using my enhanced speed, I got behind him before he had a chance to close it.

　　"What's up doc" I said grabbing him by the back on the neck before throwing him across the room.

　　"HAHA classic" Hunter rolled on his back laughing.

　　"You have got three seconds to explain yourself" I roared forcing my Alpha aura onto him making him submit.

　　"You think being an Alpha is going to get you all the answers you want. You don't have the faintest idea what or even who you are dealing with." He growled back trying to get off the floor.

　　"Then I suggest you tell me and quick. Otherwise, you will soon find out how cruel an Alpha I really can be" I snarled.

　　After listening to what the doctor had to say I struggled to pick my jaw from the floor. I didn't know what to make of the information, everything I was thinking the outcome would be yet what he told me was never remotely on my list. Hybrids, something unnatural and unheard of. Refusing to believe what he was saying was true, dragged his sorry arse back to the dungeons, placing him in the cell next to the other prisoner before heading up to William's office.

　　"Hybrids? Are you sure that's the term he used?" William asked concern written across his face.

　　"That's what the good doctor said, he said if I didn't believe him to test silver on the prisoner we already have"

　　"Ok, so let's try it. What have we got to lose?" Angel asked her arms crossed as she sat on her dad's desk.

　　"Rita, what do you think" William asked her before realizing her eyes were clouded over.

　　"Hello earth to Rita" Angel said clicking her fingers in front of Rita's face as her eyes became normal again.

　　"Who was you talking to?" I asked her.

　　"I think you all need to sit down for what I have to say. Its going to be a lot for you to take in and it will be a good idea if Nick was also present" her voice cautious as she shifted on her feet.

　　Once we were all present and seated Rita began to tell us what she knew. She began to tell us how sorry she was for with holding such information stating that she had been sworn by the moon goddess to keep it secret until told otherwise. Rita told us that she was aware of a new evil being breeded into the supernatural world and that the choice of one of our own had helped create the gateway needed. That these hybrids were a combination of wolf and vampire, a creature created by an ancient vampire who had his own coven of witches. Being as the hybrid was a combination of both the wolf and vampire, she told us that they had the ability to shift at will as normal wolf, but that they could also walk in the sun unlike that of a vampire. However, they would need blood as well as human food to survive.

　　"Right so you're saying we have a traitor in out mists" Nick asked.

　　"A traitor no but someone we can save yes" Rita replied.

　　"And that is…" I motioned for Rita to elaborate before finally everything clicked into place.

　　"Marie" I whispered.

　　Nick's POV

　　"Marie had her heart ripped out in f**king front of me. She was dead, sat there right in front of me for hours until beta Roger removed her. It can't be possible" I shouted at Jake, Haze whining in my mind at the mentioning of our dead mate.

　　"Rita, you said save then went to say a name. Was it Marie? And don't even bother trying to lie to me" Jake shouted as he stood from his chair.

　　"Everyone calm down" William's voice came out loud with a hint of alphas command to silence us. "Now Rita please, Nick needs to know as do the rest of us" he spoke calmy to her while taking her hands in his own.

　　"Yes" she replied looking to the floor.

　　"Yes what" I spat.

　　"Marie is the one they succeeded with" She replied.

　　"You bitch" Angel shouted racing in front of Rita and smacking her across the face. "You have known this whole time and you kept it a secret. I get you did what you thought was right, but it wasn't. You have destroyed any ounce of trust I held in you, and I don't know if this is something I can forgive." Angel snarled; her eyes filled to the brim with tears as she turned to walk away just as Rita grabbed her wrist.

　　"Angel please wait…" Rita pleaded before being cut off.

　　"No" Angel shouted before lifting her other arm waving it only for Rita to fly into the wall.

　　"She can be saved" Rita shouted now grabbing my full attention.

　　Jake must have sensed my rage as he was in front of me blocking my path quicker than the blink of an eye.

　　"Let her finish Nick. I don't want to hurt you, but you know I will if I have to" Jake stared at me waiting for me to relax. He of all people should know how I felt at the moment. It wasn't that long ago that it was Angel missing and he himself would have challenged anyone to get her back. I would do the same if it meant getting Marie back.

　　"Angel, Nick I know your pissed off, but this doesn't happen again do you understand me" William roared as he pulled Rita onto his lap as she peeled herself from the wall.

　　Rita continued to explain how we were to save Marie along with anyone else that we could. If only it was as simple as she made it sound. Not only would we have to capture and restrain Marie, but we would also need to get a witch to create a cure. The only catch however is that we would need the blood of her creator. Forgetting that he was an ancient vampire how the hell was we expected to get his blood.

　　I didn't know much about vampires, but I did know the older they were, the harder they were to injure let alone kill.

　　"I will contact Elder Otis, I'm sure he will have a record detailing the oldest vampire alive. We will need to make sure all the training mandates are also up to date; this threatens every wolf that exists, and we all need to be able to defend ourselves. Nick its down to you to make sure the training is done, Jake, I know you have an appetite for interrogation, and you have your 'methods' I won't lie, I don't like the way you do it, but I will admit it gets results. Do what you must." William spoke making it clear we were to do as we were told.

　　"What about me?" Angel asked a stern look on her face.

　　"You babe have something important to attend to" Jake told her as he smiled. "You are going back to our pack, and you are going to throw Alice the most amazing baby shower."

　　"Jake do you not think that what's going on here is slightly more important?" She asked looking confused.

　　"Not at the moment, Benson called earlier, the doctor said that Alice can go into labor any day now and I know you wanted to throw her one. She has been looking forward to it and Benson said Alice thinks it won't happen. I have spoken to Henrik; he will transport you home and you can surprise her"

　　"Only if you guys are all sure" she replied.

　　"Babe its only for a couple of days, I promise we will keep you informed with what's going on don't worry" Jake told her.

　　After Angel agreed to go back to the Moonlight Pack, William called for Henrik to come and cast his spell. It was obvious Angel had doubts on leaving, she even asked me to change their minds for her, but I refused. Remining her she would be putting a smile on her friend's face, especially when Alice needed her, Angel stopped pouting and gave in. We all said our goodbyes to her knowing we would be seeing her again soon and after Henrik said some words in Latin, she began to fade.
