Marie's POV

　　After being knocked unconscious by Jason and the damn silver whip, I found myself beside a lake. This place looked like something off a postcard. I remembered Angel telling me about her visit to the moon goddess and speaking of the beautiful water surrounding the bright green grass. As I turned around sure enough there she was. Selena, Angel's grandmother, and our Moon Goddess.

　　"Hello Marie, I'm guessing you know who I am judging by the way you are looking at me." She spoke in such a soft tone, yet I could feel the power she possessed rolling off her. "Do you know why I have called you here?"

　　"So, I can witness my own death?" I joked nervously not knowing what else to say to her as I shifted nervously where I stood.

　　"Oh, my dear humour really isn't your forte. Best to leave that to somebody else, that young man Sid perhaps. Now he has a sense of humour" she chuckled. "To the matter at hand, I'm afraid you are right in a sense, but I have an offer for you. Whether you choose to accept it or not will be your choice entirely."

　　"What is it?"

　　"I have been watching you Marie, you have grown from a strong wielded girl into a formidable woman. And a darn good warrior at that. To bond you with a wolf such as Violet, had to have been one of the best pairings I ever made during my rein. Now join me for a walk while we discuss what I have to offer" she held her arm out for me while gesturing for me to link mine with hers.

　　"Do you know what's happening right now, to me I mean?" I asked her curiosity filling me, though deep down I wasn't sure if I really wanted to know.

　　"I do" Her smile faltered as she looked at me, I could see the hurt in her eyes. "I apologise that one of my creations has become such a monster, to do the things he and his trusted have done and plan to do… it hurts me to my core. Right… now for my offer. Marie, I wish there was an easier way for me to tell you this but I'm afraid you are going to die. However, there are other forces at play. Someone has injected you with a tonic, one that will allow you to come back"

　　"But that's a good thing, right?" I asked.

　　"Yes and no. You see this tonic will transform you into a new creature entirely. You would become both wolf and vampire"

　　"What… what would that mean for me?"

　　"You would live, and for you I'm willing to do something that I have never offered anyone before. Marie, you have it in yourself to change things. To make the world a better place not just for wolves but for other species to. My granddaughter is going to find herself in a pickle, Jake will try to help, but will go about it the entirely wrong way like most males would making things worse in the longer scheme of things"

　　"What exactly are you offering and why me?" It may have come out blunter than I planned but In my defence I had just learned I was going to die.

　　"You raised Angel, you protected her when no-one else could. You taught her how to fight, to defend herself and how to be a true lady. For that I have been asked to pass on a message. Vanessa is incredibly grateful for everything you did for her daughter. Now what I wish to do is if you choose to let the tonic work and you choose to live as this new species, I'm willing to let Violet stay with you. She will keep your wolf side stronger than the vampire side. Not only will you be clearer headed but you can be saved" she smiled at me like this was an easy conversation to have.

　　"Ok…. Firstly, what pickle is Angel in and secondly, how can I be saved? I'm sorry this is just a lot for me to take in"

　　"Angel is going to find out that she is pregnant. Her pup as I'm sure you already know are to be the most powerful wolves in existence. It's why I paired her to Jake. His bloodline has special properties that when linked with the blood that Angel possesses will make the magic their pups have stronger than what even I possess. The vampire behind what you would become is looking for a power of that magnitude and should he find out about her pregnancy he will stop at nothing to obtain her. Once in his possession he would drain the power from the life within her resulting in both of their deaths. I had warned Jake before about Angel's life being in danger, however he misinterpreted what I told him believing it to be about Jason. Marie, the pup she carries will also be your salvation. A special wolf of mine has been given a message already containing how you can be saved. Angel can tap into her unborn pup's power casting a spell alongside a powerful witch together with the blood of your creator. Then hey presto and you will be no longer half vampire. All I need to know is whether or not you accept. I wish we had more time but I'm afraid you have but mere minutes to decide"

　　"I accept" I blurted out instantly as my surroundings began to fade.

　　Then I opened my eyes, only to find that I was being assaulted and degraded not only by the man we grew up with but by his beta. It was after that I felt his fist enter my rib cage ripping my heart from my chest.

　　"Thank you for your sacrifice" Selena's voice whispered in my head as I took my last breath.

　　I awoke just as Selena said I would, only I felt an unbearable hunger. It made my stomach hurt. Suddenly flashbacks of how I died filled my head as my hands flung to my chest only to find it completely healed.

　　"Hello Marie, I'm Jules. I'm sure you have plenty of questions all of which you will get answers to but first, you need to feed" her voice sounded loud making my eardrums vibrate causing me to cover my ears. "Your hearing will settle down as will any irritability you may be feeling once you drink this" she said chucking a bag of blood at me.

　　The smell made my mouth water where before it would have made me gag. Ripping the bag open I downed the blood, the sweet metallic taste making my tastebuds dance in my mouth. As I consumed the last drop, I felt myself become stronger. My sight had enhanced so much that I was able to see each individual hair on the woman's head, even my hearing had improved. I suddenly felt Violet stir within me her hackles raised as she tried to fight against my new vampire side.

　　"Are you the vampire that created me?" I asked wondering how easy it would be to take her blood and end this now.

　　"No, my dear I am not, that privilege belongs to my mate whom you shall meet in due course. But first we need to talk"

　　We spent the next hour talking about how Jules and her mate knew what Jason was planning on doing to me and that by re-creating me in this form together they hoped to eradicate the world of all wolves. They were hoping my need for revenge together with my new bloody thirsty vampire side would make me the perfect weapon. Had they known the moon goddess had enacted a plan of her own, Jules wouldn't have sounded so confident. I knew the role I needed to play, I had to convince them I was on their side that my wolf spirit was no longer within me but that I had remained my wolfs strengths and senses as they had intended.

　　I had been here a week and still had to meet this Lord Vladamir. I had to prove myself several times over the last few days, taking the lives of countless people all because I was given an order. One I had to pretend I had no choice but to follow, I could only prey that Selena knew what she was sending me into. Not hating me and taking back our deal as I ended the lives of wolves as well as other species.

　　"Marie, you have been requested by Lady Jules" Sebastien's voice called out from the other side of my bedroom door.

　　"Yes Sir, I shall be right there" I told him whilst rolling my eyes.

　　As I headed to the main hall, I knocked on the door and waited to be call in. Once inside I took a seat to the side of the room. Jules was sat in her chair staring into the flames of the roaring fire that was lighting up the entire room. Even from where I sat, I could feel the heat from the fireplace burning and heating my skin.

　　"I have a job for you, one I believe you to be the perfect candidate. My daughter has been placed in one of the bedrooms in the south wing of the manor, I shall be meeting with her shortly when she awakes. I think our reconciliation will come as a shock to her and I have a feeling she will either run or end her own life. She has always struggled with her mental health, though I hold her father responsible for that. Jason never was very caring towards her. Anyhow, I will require you to stand guard at her door. And when the time comes for her ceremony tonight you are to bring her. Even if she comes kicking and screaming, I want her there. Do you understand me?" Trying to swallow the shock of finding out Jason had a daughter I nodded in agreement.

　　"Yes mam, I shall do as you ask" Standing up I bowed my head before turning and heading to the door I was ordered to guard.

　　As time went on, I finally heard the young girl wake up and move around, only for her to suddenly begin talking. Using my vampire hearing I was able to listen to every word being said from inside the room. The way Jules spoke about me made my blood boil, Violet growling in my mind wanting to break down the door and end the heartless bitch where she stood. Forcing her to back down reminding her of why we took Selena's offer. Suddenly the door opened, and I was able to see the young girl. My goddess did she look like her father.

　　"Marie, be a dear and make sure my daughter gets ready and doesn't do anything stupid" Jules voice cold as she looked at her daughter with disgust.

　　"Yes mam, she will be ready and present on time" I tell her forcing confidence into my words.

　　Closing the door as she left, I looked at the girl in front of me that had now shifted into her wolf. Before she moved, I knew she was going to lunge at me. As she went for my throat I span around and grabbed her by the jaw throwing her to the floor. Forcing her snout closed I told her to calm down trying to assure her I wasn't going to hurt her. Once she stopped growling, I released her and watched as she scurried to the other side of the room. I hoped she would shift back but she didn't, I could see she didn't trust me enough to be around me in her human form.

　　"Ariel, I'm not going to harm you. I have been sent by the moon goddess and she has a plan to end this. I cannot tell you details now, but I need you to get ready and play along. Do as your mother asked attend the ceremony and do all you can to convince her that you need time to consider her offer" As I turned to walk to the wardrobe, I heard the sounds of breaking bones and joints popping into place.

　　"I will do it, as long as you can promise to do as you say. Put an end to the vampires, kill my mum if you have to. She will not let Vladamir go"
