Jake's POV

　　Having received intel from what I hoped was a reliable source and not a trap I shared it with William, Nick and Alpha Rick. We spent all night discussing it in William's office and although they were pissed that I wouldn't reveal my source they soon got over it. The thing is my source promised me to keep their identity a secret, if anyone found out they were helping me there was a high chance of permanent death for that individual. Having finally agreed that Alpha Rick and I would conceal our scents and check out the information at hand we all headed to our rooms. It was two in the morning and knowing I needed to be up at four-thirty irritated me. Another night without Angel by my side would make falling asleep hard just like it had the last week. One thing was for sure, I would be giving her my undivided attention when I do get to see her again, that and explaining the pregnancy to her.

　　As I opened my eyes, I looked at the time on my phone, three-fifty in the morning fuck. No matter how hard I tried falling to sleep was just impossible. Looking to the empty side of my bed I ran my fingers over the space that Angel should be laying, her blonde hair messy as she sprawled out trying to take over the whole bed, the slight bit of dribble that ran from her mouth when she snored; I missed her and her nighttime habits so much. Hunter to whimpered for the touch of our mate, he wanted nothing more then to breathe in her scent and taste her skin and tongue. My cock began to throb at the thought of what I would do to Angel when I next see her. Continuing to picture her beautiful blue eyes and those full lips that often wrapped around my cock, I stuck my hand into my boxers and began to pump. Being as it had been a while it didn't take long for me to release myself. Deciding I may as well get up I went into the bathroom and took a hot shower before wrapping a towel around my waist and heading back into my room.

　　"Bloody hell Selena, what are you doing here? Do you even know what time it is?" I asked startled to see her sitting on the sofa to the edge of the room.

　　"Well, I would have entered sooner but erm you were… well busy" she chuckled in response. "Jake why isn't Angel here? You know the importance of the pup she carries; she will need protecting. You need to bring her here"

　　"She?" I asked unsure whether she meant Angel or the pup.

　　"Yes... Angel. Before you tell me it's a bad idea, that the vamps will be here soon blah blah blah, let me just tell you she will be ten tons safer here then back at your pack"

　　"Selena my pack is safe, not one wolf there would dare try to cause her harm. But if you must know I was planning on having her return, I can now see why most Alphas take their Lunas with them on business meetings"

　　"I'm sure you can" her cheeks blushed as she nodded to where my towel was wrapped around my waist.

　　"Is there anything else you need? I have to get ready things to do and all that"

　　"Your informant, you can trust them. Believe me I wouldn't lie about this. See I made a deal of my own to ensure that they remained in control of their own actions, their wolf spirit remains with them unlike the other hybrids. That is why you have a chance to return them to their former wolf state. Remember what I have told you Jake, Angel's life remains in danger and your pup is also a target. Good luck young man" Before I could respond she vanished into thin air.

　　After getting dressed I grabbed myself a quick coffee from the kitchen and headed to the patrol station. I knew I was going to be early but hey what else was there to do. Making myself as comfortable as I could in the office chair, I turned on the security cameras and checked all the monitors for anything suspicious. It was then that I noticed a wolf that appeared to be injured a sudden feeling of recognition stirred within me causing Hunter to wake from his sleep.

　　"It's Ariel" Hunter yawned not fazed that she was injured as he was holding onto his grudge over her rejecting Sid which in turn caused him to scream at our mate.

　　Ignoring him I forced the shift and took off to Ariel's position. It was only when I arrived that I noticed how truly injured she was, as well as having an open wound running down her side one of her back legs were broken and by the looks of it, it had healed in the wrong place. It would need to be rebroken and reset, a process that would hurt but not for long. Shifting back I pulled a bag from the nearby tree and put on the shorts from inside it. Tapping into Hunters strength I picked up Ariel's unconscious wolf and took her back to the Kingdoms pack doctor.

　　"The vampires… th…they are on their way" I turned to see Ariel just clinging onto her consciousness as she spoke.

　　"When?" I asked her knowing that the hybrids were already here with more due to arrive during the night.

　　"Tomorrow at sunset"

　　Turning my back to Ariel I headed back to the patrol center ignoring Alpha Rick as he tried to ask me where I had been and why I was covered in blood. I picked up my phone and texted Sid, he was to get Angel and Benson here by the end of the day.

　　Angels POV

　　"Angel we have to go" Sid's voice rang out in my head.

　　"What's going on? Where are we going?" I replied confused at his sudden connection.

　　"Vampires are on their way to the Kingdom. I don't know where Jake got his information, but hybrids have been spotted in the woods just outside of the borders"

　　"Ok I'm in my office I will be out front in five. Oh Sid! What about Benson and Megan, we can't leave them here in case someone turns up to check her DNA"

　　"Don't worry your pretty little head about that. Benson and Megan are coming with us. Before you say it's not going to be safe enough, it will be. Your dad has secured a place for her. Now come on cars running"

　　Cutting the link to Sid I closed all the files that were open on my laptop. I had been brushing up on my werewolf laws knowledge trying to find any loophole I possibly could incase shit hit the fan and by chance Megan's DNA was tainted. I wanted to believe more than anything that there was nothing wrong with Megan, yet I had this feeling in the pit of my stomach that something wasn't quite right. I just couldn't quite figure out what it was, but I would, and nothing was going to stop me.

　　As I left my office, I locked the door to stop anyone from getting in. I know Rose was Jake's mum but finding her looking around my office on more than one occasion was making me angry. She even went as far as to make a doctor's appointment behind my back then dropped me there. When I realized what she was doing I got up and walked back to the packhouse. Heading out to where Sid was waiting for me, I bumped into Sally. I asked her to keep an eye on Rose for me and to make sure she informed me if her or anyone else tried to gain access to my office.

　　"Well, you took long enough, everything ok?" Sid asked as I got into the back with Megan who was sleeping peacefully in her car seat.

　　"Yep fine, just putting precautions in place. Rose has been snooping around again and the fact her niceness towards me lately is completely fake and put on is making me think she's up to something. It doesn't matter I'll deal with it when we get back. Benson, how are things?"

　　"Ah we are taking it a day at a time; the pain is still there, and I don't think it will ever really leave but I'm learning to cope. I know I've said it already Angel but thank you for everything you have done for us" He replied, his smile much brighter than it had been.

　　The journey to the Kingdom took us just over twenty-four hours as we had to make several stops in order to feed and change Megan. We must have been flashed by every speed camera we went through but Sid didn't care; he knew Jake would deal with it once the dust was settled.

　　Once we arrived, we were greeted by Uncle Nick and another young boy. He couldn't have been any older than thirteen at the most, he had long ginger hair that was tied back in a ponytail. I couldn't help the chuckled snort that left me while noticing how the young boy copied every move Uncle Nick made.

　　"Who's he?" Benson asked while accepting a hug from Uncle Nick.

　　"He is the son of Alpha Rick's Gamma. William and Alpha Rick thought it would be a good idea to have him learn about being a gamma from me. Bloody morons will pay for it though, can't even go for a shit without him following me"

　　"Wow… to much information. Where's Jake? I can't sense him anywhere" I asked growing worried.

　　"Don't start worrying yourself I promise you he's fine, he and Alpha Rick have concealed themselves in the hopes that the hybrids can't sense them while they check patrols. We need to know how different they are from wolves and vampires. It's important that we learn what they are capable of before the vampires arrive" Uncle Nick explained as he kissed me on the top of my head, the same thing he had always done for as long as I could remember.

　　After saying goodbye to Uncle Nick and his new little friend I unbuckled Megan from her car seat and took her up to my room so Benson could get acquainted with the warriors he would be fighting beside.
