Jake's POV

　　When Nick told me that Angel was back, Hunter howled in my head with excitement. I said goodbye to Alpha Rick, he went to see his Luna as she was due to go into labour any moment and I went to mine. As I reached our room Angel's scent hit me like a ton of bricks and nothing but naughty thoughts filled my head. As I entered the room, I noticed the baby asleep in her cot and mind linked Rita to come and get her, something she didn't mind in the slightest; she had always loved babies and was always cooing over them whenever a she-wolf had one.

　　After surprising Angel in the bath and giving her the best shortest sex of my life, I wanted nothing more than to take her again and again until we both passed out from exhaustion. Something that Angel also seemed to want as she kept trying it on with me. But alas we had more pressing matters to attend to, not only did we have an upcoming battle, but I also needed to sit and talk to Angel about her being pregnant.

　　I had asked Benson to inform Sid that Ariel was safe and in the Royal Packs hospital but that she wasn't in the best condition. Sid had mind linked me Asking if I and Angel would accompany him when he visited her once she was awake, it was something I didn't feel comfortable with, but he was friend and he needed me.

　　"Come on Angel please get dressed" I sighed growing inpatient.

　　"No. Make love to me one more time and I promise I will. Come on Jake I'm horny as hell, more than I have ever been and I want you deep inside of me right now" ahh she was making this hard. We really needed to be in the pack hospital but with how she was looking at me and the tone in which she was speaking was making my c*ck hard and uncomfortable in my jeans.

　　"F*ck Angel, I want to believe me you have no idea how much I want to. But Sid is waiting for us. I tell you what, once we have dealt with Ariel and I've told you something important we can have all the sex you want"

　　As we entered the hospital Sid was pacing back and forth stopping once he saw us. He explained that the doctor had managed to fix Ariel's leg and had stitched her wounds shut until her healing kicked in at which point the stitches would be removed. Angel made her way into the room, but Sid just hovered in the doorway, nervousness evident in his facial expression. I don't think he knew how to handle the situation; it wasn't everyday a wolf was rejected by their mate only to return worse for wear.

　　"So… how did this happen to you" Angel asked Ariel who was in a much better state then when I last saw her.

　　"I escaped Lord Vladamir's mansion with help but there were guards that skipped a meeting they should have been at. They attacked me when I tried to leave. My wolf fought with everything she had, is it bad that I'm glad I was forced to train now" she chuckled dryly.

　　"Help? From whom?" I asked having a feeling I already knew the answer.

　　"Marie, she's alive. Well technically she died and came back a hybrid, but she is alive. She told me that she made a deal with the moon goddess, she knew Jason was about to end her life, so she accepted. She still has her wolf though unlike the others meaning she isn't sired to Vladamir or my mum. She said you were going to try and save her but that if you get the chance, to just kill Vladamir, then to take it. She would rather live her life as she is now then watch any of you die at his hands"

　　"You've seen her is she ok? Ang hang on a minute, why would the hybrids be sired to you mum as well as the bloodsucker?" Angel asked her eyes widening at the mention of her aunt, the woman that raised her.

　　"She seems it yes, but she said that they were becoming suspicious of her. And in a sick twist of fate, my mum is Vladamirs mate. He turned her making her like him, she met him at the Luna Crystals Ball."

　　"Shit" I muttered under my breath knowing that it was my fault the vampires were becoming suspicious of her. Marie had been the contact I was getting my information from.

　　"Jake? What is it?" Angel asked looking worried.

　　"Babe, Marie is where I have been getting my information. She contacted me on a burner phone about a week ago and told me everything. She told me about her deal, about Jules the Lord Vladamir and how he's coming for you"

　　"Why would he be coming for me?"

　　"We will talk about that later when we are on our own" I tried to assure her.

　　"What the f*ck Jake! If some ancient Vampire is coming for me then I'm pretty sure I deserve to know why" Angel shouted as she stood from where she sat.

　　"Not here. Later" I told her in a firm tone expecting her to back down.

　　"NOW JAKE" she roared in her Luna tone shaking the entire hospital room.

　　"YOUR F**KING PREGNANT OK" I shouted in response to her outburst.

　　Angel just covered her mouth; she was in complete shock with what I had just shouted. As I moved to embrace her, she shoved me away and literally ran out of the room. Hunter just growled at me for upsetting our mate. All I wanted to do was comfort her, yet Hunter wanted us to give her time to process what she had just learned. He assured me her wolf Star would talk to her making me wonder if she knew of the pregnancy but kept it from Angel for a reason. One thing was for sure, my mum was right about Angel's temper.

　　Turning my attention to Sid, I asked him what he wanted to do. As if pondering with making a decision he turned to look at Ariel who refused to meet him eye contact, clearly ashamed about how she left things.

　　"Ariel I'm glad your safe but we have unfinished business" he turned to look at me, tears glistening in his eyes as he rubbed his face before looking back at Ariel. "I Sid Gordon, gamma to the Moonlight Pack herby accept your…"

　　"NO WAIT" Ariel shouted interrupting him. "Sid I was wrong to reject you. I'm so so sorry. I would like nothing more than to be your mate if you will have me" her eyes pleading with Sid not to accept her rejection.

　　"You blamed me for the death of your dad remember! I offered you safety, I promised to love you and to be there always, but you threw it back at me and rejected me. Do you even know the pain it caused me?"

　　"I was upset, my dad may have been an absolute ass but I he was still my dad. I know now how fucked up he was to do the things he did to Nick to Marie… to me and my mum. All I can do is try and show you how sorry I am. If you're willing to give me the chance" tears fell from Ariels eyes as she practically begged Sid to reconsider.

　　"I don't know if I can do that. What if you decide you actually meant the rejection and do it again? I won't be able to cope. Tan already went on a murder spree because of you"

　　"Look why don't I give you two some space. It appears you have a lot to discuss. Ariel get better and Sid if you need me let me know ok" I told them as I left the room.

　　Williams POV

　　"What do you mean the cameras have lost signal. How hard a job is it to make sure they are all working" I asked the patrol leader who sat looking terrified in front of me.

　　"Alpha King I don't know what to tell you. They were working earlier, it's like the signal is being tampered with, blocked or…"

　　"Or what" I asked growing extremely annoyed at their incompetence.

　　"The wires on the main grid could have been cut"

　　Before I had a chance to respond Henrik came barging into my office a look of fear on his face.

　　"William it's starting, the anti-shimmer ward I place on the Kingdom it worked. Vampires are trying to gain access by shimmering and the hybrids are approaching the walls"

　　"F*ck I thought we had more time being as the suns still out, well I guess we now know why the cameras aren't working. Ok, get Alpha Rick and Alpha Jake to meet me with their betas at the gate" I told Henrik who nodded before running back out. "It's Samuel, isn't it?" I asked the patrol leader.

　　"Yes, Alpha King. What can I do" ?

　　"Find gamma Sid, tell him what's happening and that he is to stay with Angel the entire time" Samuel nodded before leaving.

　　I mind linked Rita telling her to get the elderly, women and children into the bunkers and not to let them open for anyone other than myself. After arguing with me about missing the fight I reluctantly agreed to her taking part knowing she was more than capable of looking after herself. As I was about to mind link Nick, he stepped into my office a sour pissed off look on his face.

　　"Is it true William" he growled as he slammed his hands on my desk.

　　"Is what true? That the war is beginning, yes" I replied raising an eyebrow at his outburst.

　　"No not the f**king war. Is it true that Marie is where Jake has gotten his information? Don't lie to me William she is my wife"

　　"Nick, I assure you I don't know what the hell you are raving on about. I asked Jake several times about his informant, and he refused to give them up. Where did you hear it was Marie?"

　　"From Angel, she said that Marie helped Ariel escape the clutches of the vampires that's when Jake told Angel he had been in contact with her"

　　"Mate I promise you this is the first I have heard of it. Hang on if Marie is a hybrid why is she helping us? Are we not just playing into their hands by using her information?" I asked now worried they had engineered this whole thing so we would trap ourselves.

　　"According to Angel unlike the other hybrids, Marie isn't sired because she still has Violet within her, a gift from the moon goddess. I need to find her William I need to see her"

　　Telling Nick to do what he needed to gain closure as long as it didn't put the rest of us at risk, he left my office. As I headed to the gate to meet Jake and Rick the screams of Royal Pack wolves that had been on patrol filled my head followed by a pain in my stomach. The pain an Alpha felt when members of their pack had died.

　　"We need to know which patrol station that was" Maximus growling in my head. He had been cooped up for too long as was looking forward to a good fight.

　　Knowing he was right I mind linked all the stations getting replies from all but the eastern station. Shit there was a reason that station was attacked I knew it and scolded myself for not thinking about it before. There were tunnels that ran underneath that side of the territory leading straight into the Kingdom, they were made before my time as an escape route should the Kingdom ever fall. How the f*ck they would have known about them is beyond me.

　　A feeling of dread ran through me making my entire body feel cold. I knew I needed to check the tunnel exits before it was too late though something inside of me told me it already was.
