Jakes POV

　　I did as Vladamir instructed and forced Hunter to recede, he began to snarl and growl in a menacing manor as I forced us to shift back, Hunter was livid wanting to kill the filthy bloodsucker that dare lay a finger on our mate. As much as it pained me not to let Hunter do things his way, I wasn't under any circumstances going to gamble with Angel's life, something I hoped I wouldn't live to regret.

　　"Hahaha, such an interesting thing this 'mate bond' you beasts have" Vladamir actually spat the term mate bond as if it left a sour taste on his tongue. "Find the girl threaten her and the big bad alpha submits" his laugh rang out throughout the grounds of then Kingdom causing the hairs on my arms to stand.

　　"I did as you asked now let her go" I told him forcing as much strength into my words as I could muster. Something that at this moment was difficult knowing the lives of my mate and pup were literally in his hands, my knees secretly weak and wanting to give way as the fear of losing them began to take route.

　　"Vladamir drain me. You will get what you need, just please let my daughter go" William spoke from where he was forced to kneel, the authority in his voice trembling at the chance of losing his daughter for a second time all the while his face held a demeanor that made him look extremely calm.

　　"Oh William, May I call you that? You see I would love for nothing more than to drain you of every ounce of power that resides within your bloodstream, I may even take you up on your offer when I'm finished with your daughter here. But you are nothing more than an old man whose days have well passed him. Yes, your power would help but the power that your grandchild possesses, well, let's just say would be more than adequate" gasps of disbelief and shock rang out through the crowd of royal pack wolves as they learned their Princess was pregnant. The fact he even knew of Angels pregnancy just confirmed there was in face a mole within the borders on the Royal Kingdom making me wonder how far up the chain the betrayal went.

　　I looked to Sid and Benson who had the same shocked look on their faces as everyone else, I felt bad for withholding the information from them, but with everything Benson had recently been through with losing his mate and mother of his daughter I thought it best to hold off. Whilst Vladamir's attention was on William I mind linked Angel assuring her that she would be ok, that no matter the cost I would save her from this fate. Looking around the crowd I spotted Marie with Nick, by the looks of it they were trying to stay hidden. I would pray to anyone at this point, even the devil himself in the hopes of them having a plan. As if having sensed I was watching them Marie's eyes found mine almost instantly. She gave me a small nod before Nicks voice entered my head.

　　"Jake, we have an idea. It's not the cleverest of plans but if Marie's right it should work"

　　"What's the idea? At this point I'm truly open to suggestions"

　　"If you can get close enough to Angel its said that because of your souls becoming one you can send her your strength. If she had more power, she should be able to bite Vladamir. There's a reason he doesn't want you near her this is it"

　　"Why the fuck would she need to bite him?" I asked not knowing why this is the first I had ever heard of such a thing.

　　"Because Jake her bite alone can end his life, Vladamir has access to the wolf archives. Someone is allowing him entry to the embassy and in doing so has given him the scroll detailing every aspect of the prophecy about you, Angel and your pup"

　　I must have looked dumbstruck because as far as I were aware only a moon protector had a lethal bite, and last I checked Angel's wolf wasn't silver.

　　Angels POV　　His cold hand that was wrapped around my neck squeezing tighter with every movement I made, my vision becoming blurry with the lack of air that filled my lungs. I could just about make out Jakes voice but was unable to hear what he was saying. From the corner of my eyes, I could just about see a silver blur, unsure of what it was all I could do was hope and pray whatever it was would help me. I didn't want to die, not yet. I wanted to have my pup and watch them grow, I wanted to grow old beside Jake and have rocking chairs next to each other as we held hands whilst we watched our grandkids play. The thought of this being how my life will end caused something deep down to stir within me. Whatever it was made me feel stronger, like I had a sudden chance of beating this vile man and erasing him all together.

　　"Angel can you feel it" Stars voice bringing me to my senses. "That strength it's Jake. Angel you have to focus we can get out of this"

　　"Now Princess if you would be so kind as to let me take what I need" Vladamir's voice hushed as his foul breath brushed my neck before the sting of his fangs as they pierced my skin.

　　The skin on my neck began to burn as his fangs sunk further into my neck, a strange sensation building as I felt my temperature drastically rise. My vision completely gone as I wobbled on my feet, if it weren't for Vladamir's hold I would be on the ground. Suddenly his grip released and with the sound of coughing I was knocked over as I felt fur rip past me. The sounds of growling and snarls were the only indication I had to alert me that something was happening but without my vison I was oblivious to my surroundings, for the moment at least.

　　"I've got your sweetheart, you'll be fine" a voice I thought I would never in my lifetime hear again. The soft voice and firm yet gentle grip of my Aunt Marie had my stomach doing flips.

　　Knowing I was safe in the arms of the woman that raised me I allowed myself to fall into darkness.

　　Williams POV

　　From where I knelt, I could see Jake and Nick, their eyes fogged over confirming they were mind-linking each other. I watched silently as Jake edged his way closed to Angel yet not close enough for Vladamir to deem him a threat. I saw how Jakes eyes glowed a bright red like my own when Maximus was nearing control and my powers were coming into play. They had a plan I knew they did I just prayed to Selena it would work.　　Vladamir lowered his mouth to Angel's neck causing a feral growl to leave me resulting in three vampires holding me to the ground preventing me from interrupting Vladamir, had I gotten free I would have ripped those fangs from his mouth. After a few seconds which had felt like hours Vladamir let go of Angel dropping her to the floor as he coughed up the blood in which he had taken. The blood was as black as the midnight sky and steam was coming from it.

　　"Jake strengthened her; she boiled her blood turning it to acid. I can smell it" Maximus was right, the blood had an acidic scent to it.

　　Whilst Vladamir was distracted I watched as Rita took advantage of the situation and shifted, I wanted to stop her fearing she would fail and lose her life. Though something I was quick to learn about my second chance mate was that it didn't matter what I said or wanted, she would do what she herself wanted to do. As Rita lunged for Vladamir she shouted "this is for Vanessa" before extending her canines and aiming for his throat. Vladamir however was quick to recover and grabbed her head slamming it into the ground. I felt myself lose the remnants of control I had over Maximus as he took full control blasting the vampires into the air that had restrained us. I watched from the back of my mind as Maximus and Vladamir went head to head each landing an air escaping blow of their own followed by a series of well executed attacks. Rita was back on her paws shaking off the knock to the ground as she once again extended her canines. Vladamir was currently unaware of what was going to be his end as his back remained to Rita's wolf. Again, she tried to bite the bloodsucker with her venomous canines but was stopped in her tracks as Angel appeared in front of her, Jake at her side. Grabbing a hold of Vladamir I watched a passenger in my own body as Maximus shoved the vampire to Angel's feet. Jake walked behind Vladamir grabbing a hold of his hair forcing him to stand. The look of horror was evident on his face as he realised, he had lost the war as his prize warrior stood behind the Kingdoms Princess.

　　"Angel let me do it" I managed to say as Maximus allowed me forward knowing his daughter was now safe, as the King of all alphas our dominance was like no other yet this time in this situation, Maximus stepped down submitting to our daughter, the strongest feeling of pride flowing through me.

　　"It has to be me. You were going to sacrifice an unborn pup for your own selfish needs. You couldn't have just been happy with how you were. You took my aunt and turned her into a hybrid. You…"

　　"And look at her, she's alive is she not. If it hadn't been for me, she would just be a corpse rotting in the ground" Vladamir tried to defend his actions, little did he know his words had fallen on death ears.

　　Without saying another word Angel embedded her own extended canines into Vladamir's neck causing him to thrash as Jake held him in place. The second Angel released her bite his skin began to fall from his body as if acid had been thrown on him, a different reaction to the bite that came from a moon protector. As she turned away Jakes fist shot through Vladamir's back emerging from his chest with the heart in his hand.
