Jakes POV
After the confrontation with my cousin, I wanted nothing more than to get back on the road having now lost my appetite. I was seething with rage yet for once Hunter was calm and collected. He had always been the one to spur me on almost forcing me to choose the violent option, but this time he didn't. He pleaded with me to remain calm, that Brad was going to get his that it was only a matter of time. The others however, refused to leave until they had eaten so listening to my wolf, I swallowed my pride and sat down. Once everyone had finished and an hour had passed by, we were finally back in the cars and moving.
"What is Brads problem? He acts like a pig and doesn't even bother to hide it" Angel spoke calmly yet through the bond I could tell Brad had rattled her, she felt nervous and on edge. Something that was evident by the way she twitched and fidgeted in her seat.
"He has always been one to want what I have; believe me he's never going to change. I promise you this now though Angel he will not be ruining our day. I need you to trust in me to keep our family safe. Mark my words I will be dealing with Brad the second we return home; he will not walk away unscathed for the way he spoke to you" I meant each word I spoke for I could taste the venom in my words.
"Jake you know I trust you. I just wish he would drop off the face of the earth and save you the hassle of challenging him though I would love nothing more than to watch you kick his arse or rip him to shreds. Either option would do though Star and I would prefer the second" I just chuckled at her as she shrugged her shoulders in response.
The rest of the drive we placed Brad out of our thoughts and chatted about where we would go for our honeymoon as that was one thing we hadn't yet planned. Wherever we decide to go would have to be family friendly and as much as I hated the idea, it would most likely be in a human populated area. Angel fell asleep just as we approached the Royal Packs territory, even though she dribbled and snored there was no denying how gorgeous she was.
This woman had given me everything I had ever dreamed of, she made we want a mate when I had originally been dead set against the idea having thought it would make me weak. She gave me someone to love and cherish along with two beautiful daughters who I would die for in a heartbeat. They were but a week old yet every time I looked into their eyes; I knew I was already wrapped around their little fingers. There was no doubt that everyone knew I worshipped the ground Angel walked on; I guess you could say I'm whipped. I hadn't written my vows, but I knew exactly what I was going to say, and I have my suspicions that one of us would cry.
As I drove into the Royal Pack territory, I felt the rush of power that came with being mated and my soul having become one with the Angel. The power that belonged to the royal bloodline, my body felt stronger my senses sharper almost like Hunter was on steroids, yet he wasn't. Angel and the pups must have felt it also as they all suddenly woke up. Angel's eyes were glowing their neon blue and after a quick glance at the pups I was astonished to find theirs had the same reaction.
"You guys feel it to, don't you?" She asked looking back at our pups even though she knew they couldn't answer her.
Angels POV
When we arrived at the Kingdom to rescue Uncle Nick this feeling of power never once touched me even though my gifts seemed magnified, though now my dad had been recrowned as Alpha King I was hit with a rush of power each time I entered the territory. The first time it happened I thought something was seriously wrong and demanded Jake get me a doctor but after speaking with my dad and the elders they explained it was the power recognising my bloodline. Why this happened though neither of them were able to explain. I must have fallen asleep mid conversation with Jake because the rush of power had managed to not only wake me up from my slumber but my daughters to.
"I wonder how it feels to them, a foreign feeling washing through them making their insides tingle the closer we get to the Kingdom" Jake looked at me unsure of whether I was expecting him to answer me or not.
"I guess it feels comforting as they haven't started crying" he was right they were awake their eyes still glowing, yet they remained peaceful with not a care in the world.
I wanted life to be kind to them, for them to be close as they grow and to find happiness, they can call their own. Though I would teach them the world was a cruel place and that they should choose wisely who they place their trust in. Something both Jake and I have learned was that enemies can be either blood or a friend not just a stranger. It's those that are closest to us that can cause the most damage. What happened with my mum and dad was a prime example of this, their trust in their beta my father's best friend was what led to my mum's death. As cruel as it may seem I needed my girls to grow up with all the information so they could be safe.
"Earth to Angel. Are you coming or staying in the car? I mean you can if you want but I wouldn't advise it there's meant to be storms tonight so you could get cold" Jake's voice brought me out of my thoughts and back to my surroundings.
I had been so deep in thought that I hadn't noticed Jake standing at the door waiting for me to get out, let alone having finally arrived.
"Sorry I'm in a world of my own today" I told him as I took his hand before looking around to see the girls weren't here. "Where are they?"
"Marie took them in, you seemed to be in some kind of trance. I've been standing here trying to get your attention for ten minutes. What were you thinking about?"
"Just about how cruel a world this is that I want our girls to be happy but prepared"
"Angel don't think about things like that. Not yet at least. We have a long time before they go out on their own and when they are old enough, they will never be alone. Nothing will happen to them Angel I won't let it" I just smiled up at Jake before getting onto my tiptoes and giving him a quick kiss.
Lacing my fingers with Jakes, we walked into the palace in search of our pups. The evening just seemed to fly past and before I knew it my alarm was waking me up. Today I need to take the flowers to the chapel ensuring everything is as it should be for tomorrow was the day I had been dreaming of my whole life.
Checking the pups were still asleep I slowly climbed out of Jakes grip as he slept and crept into the bathroom turning on the shower. Getting undressed I checked the waters temperature and stepped in but as I tried to close the door Jake appeared completely naked and stepped in behind me. Taking the shampoo in his hands he massaged it into my hair before doing his own, it was small, sweet things like this that made me love him more. We didn't need to be having sex all the time to be romantic or to show that we loved each other, we could just be showering each other or cuddling up to a movie. These were the things that kept the us alive, yes the sex was mind blowing but neither of us wanted our relationship to be all about it.
Once I had rinsed my hair and body of soap, I stepped out of the shower wrapping a towel around me followed by Jake who did the same. Bending down Jakes lips were soft as they landed on mine pulling me in for a slow yet passionate kiss.
"Do you want me to come with you today" he asked pulling away as he began to dry himself off.
"I don't mind, I'm only going to be putting the flowers where I want them so the organisers can do what they need to with the organza and fairy lights. If you want to then yes, I would love you to but if not then don't"
"Babe I asked because I wanted to be included not because I felt obligated to" now I felt guilty for just assuming.
"I'm sorry I'm just stressed because I know I'm going to argue with Rylan as he doesn't like what I've chosen, and he doesn't like the chapel. I'm happy you will be there with me. I love you"
"I know it's a chapel but if he speaks to you like shit in front of me I'll hit him, and before you tell me I can't because he's human I won't hit him with full strength but it will be hard enough to hurt him" I shook my head at his response knowing full well he would hit Rylan which made a smile etch onto my face.
After dropping the pups to the Royal Pack nursery along with two guards' curtesy of my dad, Jake and I drove out of the Kingdom and to the chapel which was located in a beautiful little village called Blossom field's. The village was only a twenty-minute drive away, but it was well worth it. As we pulled down a country road that led to the village, we came to a little quaint sign that said 'Welcome To Blossom Field's' it had little flower beds planted all around it. The weather wasn't exactly warm enough for the flowers but whatever they were doing was working because the flowers were bright and beautiful. The chapel was located in the centre of the village, it was small but cute and extremely romantic. It looked just as I had pictured it going by what Aunt Marie had told me.
"Nice of you to finally join us, not like we have any other place to be today" A tall skinny man with blonde hair that was tied in a ponytail stood in the doorway of the chapel arms crossed and tapping his foot on the pavement.
"Rylan I assume, we are only five minutes late. We had to drop the babies off then got stuck in tra…"
"Look I don't care for excuses let's just get this sorted" Rylan cut me off causing a growl to come from Jake as he stepped forward.
"Do not talk to Angel like that, if you can't have respect for your clients then we will not work with you"
"But I…"
"No… Angel and I have the flowers and I'm pretty darn sure we can work out what to do with the fabric. So, if you want to keep this contract have some fucking respect" The way Jake defended me even though Rylan was no threat had my heart fluttering, had we been alone and somewhere secluded I would have jumped his bones.
Rylan nodded before turning on his heel and walking up the steps into the chapel. Jake took my hand and we followed. The inside of the chapel was white, but the lighting offered warmth and gave it that romantic feeling. We got to work helping the organisers place the bouquets on the ends of each row of seats and the organza in a swagging motion. By lunchtime the room had been completely transformed. Fairy lights were entwined with the rose garlands that were hung from the wooden beams that ran the length of the ceiling, it was like something for a Princess in a fairy tale. We left the chapel and just when I thought we were heading home Jake took us somewhere else.
"Where are we going, the palace is the other way" I was confused because we had never left the pup's like this before.
"Taking a detour don't worry"
I continued to press Jake about where we were heading but he remained quiet. Roughly twenty minutes later we pulled into the parking lot of a national park. Jake got out and opened my door like the gentleman he was before placing his hand on my lower back and led me into the park. As we turned the corner my heart jumped when I saw a blanket laying on the grass with a picnic basket placed to the side.
"You planned this?"
"Of course I did. We have pups now, but I don't want to lose what we have, I want us to still do little things like this when we get the chance. I want to woo you. I want you to know how much you mean to me" without giving him a chance to respond I jumped onto him pulling him into a passionate kiss.
