Chapter 79

  Jakes POV

It wasn't unknown knowledge that when a woman had a baby, they felt forgotten like their only role now was to be a mum like that's all they were meant to be. I didn't want that to be Angel. I wanted her to keep her identity to feel like she was still the same sexy woman I fell in love with because she was so much more than 'just a mum' and she deserved to know it. Every chance I had I would do something to show her just that. When Angel told me she was going to take the flowers to the chapel I planned the picnic. I knew Angel loved picnics so having researched the area I found the perfect spot; everything just fell into place after that. To say she was shocked was an understatement. She practically pounced on me. The weather was still chilly but regardless it was the perfect afternoon and I promised Angel that after the wedding we would make it a regular thing, we would have dates that were just the two of us and family dates.

When we got back to the palace both Sid and Ariel were waiting for us. Tradition said that the groom couldn't see the bride before the wedding as it was said to be bad luck, so to ensure we stuck to it we were each going to stay with our friends, something that had proven more difficult than I had expected. I kissed Angel goodbye and told her that tomorrow was going to be the best day of our lives and I honestly couldn't not wait to call this amazing woman my wife. I watched her walk away with Ariel and prayed that this would be the last time we were ever separated.

"Where's Benson?" I asked Sid as we walked up the stairs going past the floor, I slept on with Angel fighting every urge I had to go and hold her again.

"You'll see"  He replied a smile on his face.

Nothing else was said until we walked into the guest quarters on the top floor. Stacks of pizza boxes sat on the table along with several crates of beer. It's a good thing wolfs can't get drunk the same as humans could because with all this food and drink, I'd never wake and probably miss my own wedding.

"What's all this?" I asked looking at everything.

"Well, you refused to have a stag do so this is the next best thing but without strippers" Benson chuckled knowing full well if strippers would have been present Angel would take my man hood away.

Tucking into a pizza Benson stuck the first John Wick on the tv. I loved a good action movie, so we ended up having a John Wick marathon. Sid was asleep before the halfway mark in the second film so Benson and I decided to have some fun. I grabbed a pen off the desk and drew him a silly moustache while Benson painted his nails in bright orange. Don't ask me where he found it or why he even had it because I dread to think. By the time we were finished with Sid he looked as if he could star in his very own drag show.

"How's the best man speech coming along" I asked whilst opening another can of beer to vanquish the thirst I had after eating two large pizzas to myself.

"All done, and you're so going to thank me"

"What the fuck did you write? Please tell me it's nothing about me another woman"

"Don't be stupid, I'll save that kind of thing for your funeral" he chuckled as he threw himself back on the sofa. "What about your vows and speech?"

"I don't need to write my vows; I already know what I'm going to say."

"Let me guess it will be something along the line of… Ooo I love you Angel so incredibly much, you've managed to do what no one thought possible and tame the brutal alpha. You have me so whipped that I worship the ground you walk on" Benson pretend to me be and mimicked what he thought I would say before we both burst out laughing.

There was no one else other than these two that could have made my night, they were my best friends, and I wouldn't be without them.

  Angels POV

Ariel had the whole evening planned, we were using her homemade face masks, painting our nails not forgetting the toes as we both had opened toed shoes to wear regardless of the fact our dresses were floor length and of course waxing. I had never waxed before as I normally just shaved but Ariel assured me waxing was better. She said not only would my skin be smoother for longer but that I wouldn't get any skin rashes. Well, I'm sorry but she lied though not intentionally. My skin had a reaction to the wax leaving me with burns that thankfully would soon heal, oh and she forgot to mention it stung like a bitch.

"I didn't realise you had sensitive skin. I'm so sorry Angel I should have asked you beforehand" Ariel felt really bad and had already apologised twice.

"Hey it doesn't matter, it should be gone by the morning so no real damage done" I meant what I said, though had the burns remained for the wedding it would have been a different story.

While we were doing our beauty regimen, we had ordered food which was now running late and my stomach was becoming incredibly loud. I picked up my phone and called the restaurant wanting to know where our food was, just my luck as someone said hello down the phone there was a knock at the door. Sally an omega that worked in the pack house was standing there with the bagged food in her hand. Thanking her for bringing it up I took it through to the table where Ariel had set the plates and cutlery. We had gone all out and ordered Chinese. Just the smell of my chow mein noodles and chicken satay had me drooling, throw in the salt and pepper shrimps and wow.

"How's your evening going" Jakes deep husky voice filled my mind.

"Aren't you breaking the rules of tradition" I chuckled to myself at the lack of restraint Jake had.

"Actually, I found a loophole. All I am seeing is the inside of your mind which if you want to get technical isn't physically seeing you. Therefore, the tradition remains unbroken" Jake chuckled to himself as he defended his actions.

"You are relentless you know that, and there I though Alphas were deemed with more control than that ha. Our evening has been fun actually, we did beauty treatments and are currently eating a tasty Chinese. What did you guys get up to?"

"Hey, can't a man just want to talk with the love of his life? Babe your already beautiful you don't need any treatments"

  "What are you after?"

"Just for you to say yes tomorrow in front of all our friends and family. As for us we ate pizza and drank beer watched a few films…"

  "John Wick?"

"Of course. Oh, and look at your phone I sent you a picture"

"Ok but if it's anything dirty… oh my goddess what have you done to him" I laughed out loud sending my food shooting out of my mouth causing Ariel to look up and wonder what the hell was going on. I showed her the picture of Sid that Jake had sent me to which she chocked on her own food as she laughed at the state of her mate.

"He fell asleep so he became fair game" Jake roared with laughter in my head as he could feel me roll my eyes.

"Bloody men honestly, you're all as bad as each other. Right please let me finish my food and I'll phone you before I go to sleep. I love you Mr Anderson"

"I love you too soon to be Mrs Anderson" with that I felt the mind link fade away.

Once we had finished eating, we cleaned up had ourselves a bath and got into our pjs. Knowing we would need to be up early for the hair and makeup stylists we decided to get some sleep. Getting into bed I called Jake but there was no answer, so I guessed he had also fallen asleep as it had gotten late. The wedding was at 1pm which meant the morning would be full steam ahead. My stomach was bubbling with excitement knowing tomorrow I would be marring the love of my life. Yet somehow, I remained unable to shake the feelings that had plagued me for the last few weeks. I wasn't sure what the feelings were trying to tell me, but I hoped whatever they were wasn't anything bad. Putting all the worry out of my mind I mind linked Aunt Marie to check the twins were ok before climbing into bed and drifting off to sleep.
