Chapter 80

  Angels POV

I got to sleep so easily last night that I would have thought I was as going to stay that way until my alarm sounded. How wrong was I. I couldn't sleep for the life of me I was too anxious about what today was going to bring. I didn't have cold feet I was worried something would go wrong. Looking at the clock I still had an hour before my alarm was due to ring, so I turned it off and ran myself a bubble bath. Ariel was still fast asleep in the next room, so I was ever so quiet as I moved around the lounge avoiding every squeaky floorboard I could remember. Just because I was wide awake didn't mean she needed to be.

As I undressed, I looked at my legs to find the burns from the wax I used had finally healed leaving my skin flawless. Ariel was right about one thing though, my skin certainly was smoother. Stepping into the bath I felt Star stir in my mind, today was a big day for the both of us yet she remained entirely calm. Goddess only knows how long I had been in the bath as Ariel began knocking at the door frantically.

"Sorry will be out in a minute" I shouted as I took the plug out before standing and wrapping myself in a towel.

"Ok, well the ladies are here to start the hair I'll tell her you won't be long" shit how long had I seriously been in here.

Quickly drying myself off I put on my dressing gown and blow dried my hair. Once I was decent, I walked into the lounge to find Rose and Aunt Marie getting their hair done while the twins slept in the bassinet that had been put up in the corner. Ariel rushed past me and into the bathroom for her own bath while I sat down in front of the vanity table ready for the lady to begin.

"So Luna, are we going for the same style you previously chose?"

"Yes Lydia, if you wouldn't mind. I think the style I chose would suit the dress I have"

"Perfect, once I've finished my assistant Jasmin will do you makeup"

After thanking Lydia, I watched from the mirror as she worked her magic. By the time she had finished my hair it looked better than I could have possibly envisioned. Lydia called it the 'romantic up do' which was lined with flowers to match my bouquet along with the colour theme. My makeup was also natural with my eyeshadow a peachy kind of colour with baby pink blended at the edge giving a natural smoky look. I couldn't have wished for better stylists, they listened to every detail I chose giving me exactly what I had asked for. Ariel's bridesmaid dress was a baby pink with her makeup similar in colour to mine however her hair was down and curled.

To get the four of us dolled up had taken three hours giving us enough time to get dressed and wait for the car to arrive. Rita had been invited to join us get ready however she declined, she thought it inappropriate as my own mother couldn't have been present she didn't want to step on any toes.

"Angel can you clear the room, we need some privacy" Star's voice sounded strained almost as if she wanted to tell me something but had been commanded not to which was impossible.

"What's going on?" I asked her feeling worried as the feelings that sent me cold returned.

"I can't say anything more, but trust me Angel we need to be alone"

Looking around the room I realised everybody was already ready to head out so I sent them downstairs to wait explaining that I needed a moment to myself and that I would join them shortly. I stood in front of the floor length mirror that hung on the wall admiring how the seamstress had done an amazing job taking in the tummy of the dress. Now I wasn't pregnant it had to be adjusted to fit my much slimmer shape.

"Hello Angel" a soft voice startled me making me jump and spin around only to come face to face with the woman I had longed my entire childhood to speak with. "My beautiful little girl, wow look at you all grown up. I am so incredibly proud of you Angel; of the strong young woman you have become. You are going to make an amazing wife to Jake and mother to your pups"

"M..m..mum?" My works caught in my throat as my eyes began to burn from tears. "H..how is this possible? How are you here?" I stepped forward placing my hand on my mum's young flawless face, a face that mirrored similarities of my own. I truly did resemble her.

"Oh my darling girl, don't cry you will ruin your makeup" she chuckled as she pulled me into a hug, I had half expected her to be a fragment of my imagination but she wasn't. "I'm not able to be here for long but I needed to see you, to speak with you"

"Can you at least stay for the wedding?"

"I'm afraid not my darling I wish more than anything that I could, but I will still be with you in spirit like I have been since the day I left you. I love you so much Angel and I want you to know that I have been with you every day, watching over you I couldn't have been prouder. Now Angel there is one important thing we need to talk about before my time runs out. I have made a deal of my own and with the help of your grandmother we wish to give you a wedding gift. One we believe you would want more than anything in this world. There is however one catch, a price in which you must pay but the decision has to be yours and yours alone"

  "What is it?"

  *****

Stepping out of the car I looked up at the chapel knowing my life was about to change but for the better. I had everyone I loved present and had been given the best gift possible by my mum after having taken her deal. Though I was still in shock along with the others I think we were holding it together rather well, for the moment at least.

I could hear people chatting away inside the chapel before it went silent followed by the melody of the organist.

"Are you ready, you look beautiful Angel" My dad appeared at my side looping his arm though my own a massive smile that showed how proud he was on his face. He didn't in the slightest look surprised when he looked behind me making me suspect he and my mum were in on it together. A thought that had my heart swelling with love and happiness.

I looked back and smiled before taking a deep breath and walking into the chapel with my father on my arm. This would be the final walk I made an unmarried woman.

  Jakes POV

I felt guilty as hell when I woke up this morning after looking at my phone to find three missed calls from Angel. I had eaten so much that I had fallen asleep on the sofa. Sid was in the bathroom, and I could hear him cursing Benson and I for what we had done to him last night. Laughing to myself I checked the time knowing I needed to get ready and be at the chapel before Angel and the others arrived. Sid came out the bathroom all cleaned up and dressed before calling me prick as he flipped me off. Laughing at him I stepped into the bathroom and had a quick shower.

"Yo man your mum said she's got the twins ready and that they are all good and currently with Angel" Benson shouted to me through the crack in the bathroom door.

I hopped out the shower and put my suit on. I combed my hair back and gelled it in place before going back into the lounge. Both Sid and Benson were ready and enjoying a cup of coffee as they waited for me. I pinned my pink rose onto my suit before joining them.

"Are you bringing Caroline with you to the wedding?" I asked Benson knowing how close they had gotten lately.

"Nope, I've taken a step back from her. I know she's sexy and good in bed but she's too clingy. She wants me to mark her and take her as a chosen second chance mate. I'm not interested in that. Alice was the only mate I ever wanted so even if a second chance does come along, I won't take it" it was obvious Benson was battling with his own emotions, all I could do was be there for him and help him through it.

"Right boys it's time. Jake are you ready to wear the ole ball and chain?" Sid snickered as he patted me on the shoulder.

"Fuck off Angels not like that. We treat each other as equals. And yes, I'm more than ready to get married" it was true I had waited for this day ever since Angel woke up from her coma.

As we left the palace William was waiting outside with the car. We were all travelling together Rita however decided last minute she was travelling with the women which left William looking slightly glum.

The whole journey to the chapel my heart was racing, and my palms were sweaty, I couldn't recall a moment in my entire life that I had ever felt this nervous. Whilst we were on our way a strange sensation shot through me causing every hair on my body to stand on end. I couldn't explain it, I felt as if a fraction of my power and strength had been taken away leaving me feeling lightheaded.

"Here we are gentleman. Good luck Alpha on behalf of the royal pack we wish you and your Luna the best of luck and an eternity of happiness" the driver opened our doors as I thanked him.

We walked into the chapel to meet the priest and to take our places before Angel and the guests arrived. Before long members of the royal pack, our moonlight pack and a few other packs began to filter into the room taking a seat waiting for the ceremony to begin. Benson and I had personally greeted each guest and thanked them for coming before making our way to the front and standing beside the priest.

"They're here" Hunter was howling with excitement in my head.

I allowed Hunter to remain forward with me so together we could take Angel as our wife. Before I knew it the organist began to play symbolising the start of the ceremony. My heart stopped the moment Angel appeared. She looked like an actual angel that had come to earth just for me. She was beautiful her makeup her hair and her dress the way it flung to her body emphasising her every curve my goddess I couldn't peel my eyes from her she was a vision in white, I certainly was a lucky man. The moment she smiled at me Hunter began to purr. As she and William began to walk down the aisle my eyes widened with shock when I saw who followed her in.

"Alice" Benson whispered as he stepped forward tears falling from his eyes as he ran toward his mate that had died in his arms.

Ignoring the murmuring that was coming from the guests I mind linked Angel asking her how this was possible to which she promised to explain later. I watched with a full heart as Benson embraced his once lost mate as she held their daughter in her arms. Together they walked up beside me and Angel their eyes not once leaving each other. I didn't think today would get any better, but this has certainly proved me wrong. ******

"We are gathered here today in the name of all things holy. To celebrate the unity of marriage and love between two people. Alpha Jake and Luna Princess Angel were truly blessed to have found each other and the bond in which was formed. I would normally begin by asking if anyone here has any objections to this pair entering into the sanctity of marriage but I know you all prefer your heads attached to your bodies, so I think we will just skip that bit and move on." The priest addressed the room earning a small chuckle from the guests. "So, let's get to it shall we? Alpha Jake Anderson, do you take Luna Angel Hartley to be your wife? Do you promise to be faithful to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love her and to honour her all the days of your life?"

"I, Jake Anderson, take you, Angel Hartley, for my lawful wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part"

"Luna Angel Hartley, do you take Alpha Jake Anderson to be your husband? Do you promise to be faithful to him in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love him and to honour him all the days of your life?"

"I, Angel Hartley, take you, Jake Anderson, for my lawful husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part"

"Do you have the rings?" The priest asked Benson who smiled as he handed them over. "Alpha Jake if you would go first"

"Angel, growing up the idea of having a mate angered me. There was a time in which I was convinced having a Luna by my side would make me weak, an easy target for those that wished me harm. But then I met you and I realised how big an idiot I was to have thought those things. You have changed me; you have made me a better man and an even better alpha to our pack. The day you gave birth to our twins you made me the happiest man on the planet. As Benson pointed out last night and I'm not ashamed to say it but I'm whipped. I love you more than words can express and by accepting this ring you will complete me" Angel just smiled as I felt a tear fall from my eye. Taking the ring from the priest I gently placed it on her finger and leaned in for a kiss only for the priest to stop me.

"Aye we haven't reached that part yet" the crowd again chuckled as the priest spoke. "Right now, Luna Angel I suggest you go before Alpha Jake skips all the important bits"

"Jake, when I was a little girl my Aunt Marie would tell me stories of the great love my parents once had. I wanted nothing more than to have that for myself. The moment I laid eyes on you I thought you had been sculpted by the goddess herself and well it turns out you were. Our first encounter i babbled on so much that I was surprised you wanted to accept me at all. You have loved me unconditionally the entire time we have been together and although I know we knew each other when we were children, I wish more than anything that I could remember those days. You have made me a stronger more confident woman; you have given me a reason to get up every morning and to top it off you bless me with the chance of having our own family. I love you and by placing this ring on your finger I solidify that" Angels eyes were streaming as she took the ring and placed it on my finger.

"Lovely vows both of you. So, with the power bestowed upon me, I now announce you husband and wife you may NOW kiss your bride. Mr and Mrs Anderson everybody" I pulled Angel into a passionate kiss one that must have lasted a while because by the time we pulled apart, the chapel was empty.

"So, are you going to tell me how Alice is back?" I asked while threading my fingers with Angels as we walked out of the chapel.

"Well long story short, my mum visited me before I left to come here. After telling me how proud of me she was, she offered me a deal. In exchange for my gifts Alice would be returned. I didn't even have to think about it because I know what Alice meant to all of us, especially to Benson. And if giving up my powers meant she got to breathe again and the chance to raise her own daughter then there was no doubt" I pulled Angel into another kiss, I knew she was selfless, but this one act showed just how pure hearted she truly was.

"That must be why I felt weird then. Just as we pulled up, I felt my strength diminish ever so slightly" Angel just nodded her head a big smile on her face.

I had gone on to ask if our pups would keep their gifts should they be blessed with them, and Angel nodded. Even though our pups wouldn't have known what they would have lost a part of me would have been devastated that they would never get the chance to experience it. However, those thoughts I pushed away as Angel confirmed theirs would remain. It didn't matter to me in the slightest that Angel was no longer gifted, I wasn't with her for her powers or her title. I was with her for her.
