Rhea's POV
"Can't we talk?" she raised her brow at me. I was dumbfounded for a while, recovering from the unexpected shock. I glaze my eyes at the standing nervous Mercy at the door.
Lila followed the direction of my gaze and it settled on Mercy, I noticed how distaste flashes through her eyes. "Don't you know what to do next...? Kiss the door and get your ass out of here,"
"Lila!" I called, and besides she sounded harsh. Mercy has done nothing wrong to her, I think that if she is here to apologize she should be on her best behavior.
"What," she cocked a brow at me, "That was harsh," I corrected.
"How," her frown deepened, her confused gaze staring into mine for an explanation.
Don't play those tricks on me, Lila, using my head I motioned forward, pointing in the direction where Mercy was quietly standing, Lila followed my gaze before letting out a hiss.
"Am just trying to put her in her place,"
"Lila, that's my assistance," I noticed Mercy fidgeting with her nails.
"And I am your Beta, I am here for something important or you don't want me?"
Silence suddenly fills the room before Mercy cleared her throat drawing our attention, "I think that I need to leave, my Luna,"
She didn't wait for me to say anything again before rushing out of the room, BAM...! The door closed and I was left alone with Lila.
Sparing her one glance, I went back to my dressing table to proceed with what I was doing earlier before her interruption. I heard someone chuckle behind me and knew that it was her.
"You look skinny and..." Her words ooze with sarcasm. I ignored her and continued what I was doing acting as if I didn't hear her.
"Why are you trying to cover up the dark circles?" I don't know where she was going with this but her every word sounds like a mockery to me.
"What happened, my Luna?" She sarcastically asked, "Didn't you get enough sleep?"
"LILA!" I growl, banging my palms on the table. She flinched back before a nasty smile appeared back to her lips.
Shutting my eyes I let out a whiff with my nails crawling into my flesh, I tried to control my anger. She is messing with my head right now.
"Why are you here?" I said trying to change the topic but the hot-headed creature is clearly not having that.
"Am I not allowed to check up on, my Luna," she smirks when pacing around the room with her gaze resting in my direction.
"I heard that she locked herself up here for two days and allowed only Alpha Kian to see her," I cocked my brow at her, "Are you here for confirmation?" My voice laced with sarcasm.
"If you are here for that... Then you already know the answer, he was the only person allowed," I noticed how her face suddenly darkened before a silly smile broke on her lips.
"Well! I heard that she was nursing over her dear wife who doesn't have a wolf... Alpha Kian is such a nice man," I suddenly felt a hard pang against my chest. I knew that the moment that she stepped in here that she meant no good. Is she here to make a mockery of me?
"You heard nothing, Lila," I spit.
"Have you been crying, oh! Poor thing," she started taking a few strides toward me, "But why will your wolf despise you as well or did you truly have a wolf?"
"LILA!" I yelled angrily, unable to hide my emotions anymore, her every word cut through my fresh damn deep. This is my fear that she was using on me, the absence of my wolf!
"Why are you here? To mock me... Hmmm," I smiled bitterly.
"Nope!" She chipped in, "As I said before, I am here to check up on you and as well apologize for our little fallout last time," I slowly turned to stare well at her, "Apologies,"
"Yes," she mumbled, her voice going quiet. I glaze my mind around, wow! That's so odd of Lila because she has never admitted guilt even when she truly knows that she was at fault.
"So are you going to sit all day and leave me hanging,"
Sighing I ran my hand through my hair brushing it backward with my hands, "I owe no grudges against you Lila, we meant to have had a little misunderstanding but I am more than grateful that you admitted that you were guilty that doesn't make you weak but brave and smart and I love that,"
I smiled at her but instantly I noticed how she gazed down at me with a raised brow. There is something devilish about the way that she looks at me. But I again brushed it off, shoving the nagging feelings away.
"Well, how did the meeting with the four packs go? I was busy that day and couldn't make it,"
"Busy," I repeat her words.
"Yeah, too busy than you can ever imagine, I think that you should see what kept me preoccupied," I snapped my head at her but was only met with a dazzling smirk looming around her lips.
Busy banging my husband! And she calls that busy, her smile widened on noticing the sudden change in my mood. She doesn't have to know that her words have an effect on me.
"Hmm, no need, I think that you should keep that to yourself,"
"Well if you say so, my Luna," I shut my eyes at her last words, she calls the 'Luna' in a disdainful tone but again I decided to ignore her.
"The meeting went well and guess what I was able to pull through... Getting Alpha of the Thorn Pack to ally with us, wasn't that fantastic?"
For an unknown reason, my eyes lit up immediately as I recalled the face of Daemon.
"Uhmm, that's nice of you," she gave her shoulder a small shrug. "You did well," I smiled back at her.
But her next words had the smiles wiped out instantly from my lips, "Stop acting like you did one big thing after all is your duty and what you are supposed to do, if you weren't able to beg them to ally with us then who could do that... Is your you should know better,"
"Lila..."
"Shhh," sitting in front of me she hushed me with her middle finger pressed firmly against my lips, stopping me from saying any further with a smile on her face.
"I didn't mean it in a bad way, Luna,"
