CHAPTER 15 What are You Doing Here?

  Rhea's POV

The garden was well-trimmed and the bushes around the pack were well taken care of.

The pack members have all been one hell of busy today concerning the big dinner party tomorrow, the omegas were cleaning and running around though I made it mandatory that everyone should participate in the cleaning. After all, it is for everyone's betterment.

Despite how weak and weary I felt inside, I couldn't see myself backing away. How will they see me if I can't carry out this simple assignment, especially Kian? And chickening out will allow those rascals to make the gist of me.

Well, Fiona has been carrying out her duty, anyway I think that I get to say that because after the morning meeting, we haven't bumped into each other and I like it that way. Everybody should just focus on whatever they are doing.

However, instead of having Lila following me up and down I then send her to the kitchen at least to keep an eye on the food and help me supervise the cooking since I am overcrowded with work.

"My Luna," I slowly turned around with the bottle of canned water in my hands. Mercy was standing in front of me with her head lowered humbly.

"Yes, any problem?" I wonder what it is this time around.

"You requested that I recheck the areas that are orchestrated,"

"Yes and where and where are still remaining untouched?" I asked before gulping down the water down my quenching throat.

"Well, the grasses are trimmed, the hallways are sparkling clean and the whole pack is well organized except.

  "Except where?"

  "The kitchen," she shortly answered.

"What do you mean by the kitchen, I guess that Lila was there?"

"Sorry, my Luna, but I couldn't find her there," she countered.

Shutting my eyes, I battled to control the anger within me. Must she always neglect her place of duty? Not this time around, Lila.

"What of Fiona?" I asked, unsure of what I even wanted to hear.

Mercy spared me a glance and quickly looked away, finding it hard to stare back at me and that's when I knew that something was wrong.

"Mercy," I called, "What is going on?"

  "Nothing,"

"Have you started lying to me?" I sounded disgruntled, my voice creaking in seriousness.

"No. No... my Luna but the thing is that..." She paused, hesitating to say a word.

"The thing is what Mercy and better don't get me angry,"

"The thing is that... Uhmm the Alpha requested her presence, like she had been summoned by the Alpha," she kept stammering, not knowing how to put the words together.

My heart tightens at the information, I watch how she keeps battling with her words. Come on! Mercy you don't have to sugarcoat anything... Just tell me that my dear sweet husband is banging one of his mistresses, Fiona inside his chamber.

I am always called out for the pack affairs and important issues concerning the pack while others are called to warm his bed every damn night.

So this is why I haven't bumped into Fiona's shadow because she is preoccupied with doing her event planning work perfectly inside his bedroom while I am here stressing myself to the core.

Should I cry or just laugh, I won't deny the fact that my heart aches at the pieces of information. So this is why I have been getting weaker since noon.

Sighing I forced out a smile, "Hmm, since no one is in the kitchen I guess that I have to go have a look at what is actually going on there,"

Almost staggering I instantly held the pillar to withstand my balance, "My Luna," before Mercy could make it to my side, I pushed myself out from the pillar and started walking away.

My head hurts as if it has been knocked down with a rod but still, I continued to where I was going, fighting back the pain. My heart feels so heavy like a stone was weighing it down but that doesn't mean that I have to let them see my weakness.

I am dying within but hahaha... I put on a long face as if I don't care while I am bleeding, my heart is torn.

Blinking back my tears as I neared the kitchen, I gulped hard immediately as I strode in front of the door. Mercy was still beside me, mirroring my every damn step.

She doesn't have to be here but on the other hand, I couldn't see myself telling her to leave as well. I couldn't seem to come up with any words to talk more of saying anything to her because my heart feels heavy.

"My Luna, are you sure that you are alright?" There she goes again with her pitiful words. Gritting my teeth indignantly I ignored her and pushed the kitchen door open.

"Oh! My Luna," the omegas and everyone present in the kitchen submissively lowered their heads as I strode inside with Mercy beside me.

Using my eyes I stared around the place, it was one hell of a thing. The place doesn't look nice enough to be called a kitchen, and besides my dear assistant, Lila was nowhere to be seen around the place.

The only thing that amaze me was the different varieties of food displayed on top of the huge table there.

I noticed some hateful gaze my way, lifting my head, and for some strange feelings, I didn't like the way that the kitchen head maid, Bale Ember, was looking at me.

There is something with the way that she stares at me but due to the headache, I decided not to ponder my mind on that.

"Here doesn't look good as a place where food is made, this place doesn't look conducive or don't you all notice what I am saying," I tried as much as possible not to sound harsh though I am finding it difficult not to lash at them.

They nervously glance around them before bringing their heads down in shame and fear but only Bale still has her head held high.

Maybe because she is the head maid but that does give her the right to look me in the eyes with her head high, I can't be disrespected by Kian and his mistresses and still allow a commoner, a kitchen head maid! To as well disrespect me and that's when I turned to look at her.

My furious eye piercing into hers, "As the kitchen head maid, Bale Ember, I expected more from you but unfortunately you proved me wrong,"

The other omegas uncomfortably adjust their feet while some just nervously scratch their necks.

"I am sorry, My Luna, I was so focused on the dishes that I forget to supervise the surroundings," she instantly apologized though there was something with the way she says the Luna.

  "Focused indeed," I hissed.

"I'm so sorry, my Luna, I promise that this won't repeat itself,"

I nodded my head and refused to read more meanings into her words. I think that I am just allowing my anger to overwhelm me. I don't think that Bale meant it the way that I am thinking.

"Fine, but please let this very act not repeat itself. Assuming that we had a guest now and they walked in here, how do you expect them to feel?" I paused and scanned their faces one after the other.

"Do you all expect them to have the taste of this food not after seeing where it was prepared?!" I yelled, causing them to flinch back in fear.

At least I still got some people that respect me, I was still talking to them when the door was suddenly pushed open.

Turning around to see the intruder, I felt anger flashes through my eyes with my fists curled up in a ball form.

  "What are you doing here?"
