Rhea's POV
Tears slowly started trailing down my cheeks, everything was happening in a swift of emotion as I felt him pulling me toward the direction of the kitchen.
Thank goodness nobody could be seen in the hallway but approaching the passage that leads to the kitchen I started hearing murmurings showing that they were still in there.
Fear and panic gripped me, where is he taking me to? I looked terrified, holding the embankment with everything in me. I refused to make a move, provoking Kian to hysterically snapped his fierce eye at me.
"What made you stop?" Stepping forward, he grabbed hold of my chin roughly in his palms.
"Why are you taking me to that kitchen?" I asked, and suddenly shivered in fear as he spared a quick glance at the entrance of the kitchen with a deadly smile on his lips.
"Dear wife, don't annoy me and get your damn ass up," he tried to sound calm but his voice was icy with a hint of provocation.
"Why am I following you to the kitchen?"
"That's enough!" He growled. I instantly snapped my head at him and was met by his dark and impenetrable eyes.
"Get up," he commands, "I said get the fuck up!" I quickly pulled my shocked self out from the wall.
"That's good, now start going," using his head, he gestured for me to move. His face seems dreadful to look at, I don't think that there is any difference between him and a demon right now.
Stopping at the door, using his leg he knocks it open before pushing me inside in an instant. My leg slipped and I accidentally fell. My hand mistakenly pushed the bucket of fruits on the kitchen counter to the ground but luckily with my hand resting on the counter, I was able to withhold my stand from reaching the ground.
Upon hearing the sound, I noticed everyone present in the kitchen swiveling around to find out the reason. Their eyes settled on me before they now flickered at the demon husband of mine standing beside me.
"Good evening, Alpha and Lu...na," they greeted Kian but were unsure whether to greet me as well. Confusion was looming around their eyes. Well, except Fiona and Lila who had a smirk on their lips.
This is definitely the height of the humiliation, Kian. I bite down on my lips anxiously waiting for him to announce the reason for dragging me here.
"I heard that my dear wife instructed you all to prepare the foods on the lists all through the night," the omegas hesitantly nodded though his gaze was on Lila more like he was talking to them.
I gulped the big lump that had suddenly formed in my throat and continued listening to him to know where exactly he was heading, "Are you guys done with the cooking?"
"Yes... Almost,"
"Nope, not really, my Alpha, we have not even started," Fiona suddenly speaks up, concealing the omegas from saying any further. Our eyes locked and her evil smirk widened.
"Get out," he said after a few seconds, "You all should leave whatever that you are doing and get out!!" He rumbled, scaring the omegas. They instantly dropped whatever they were doing and started rushing out though they kept sparing me a pitiful look when hurrying out from the kitchen.
Turning to me, Kian shoved me aside and retorted coldly, "Continue the cooking from where they stopped,"
"WHAT!" I was dumbfounded but before I could recover from the shock, terror and rage colored my features as I saw Fiona slowly push down the foods they had prepared from the counter flat to the ground with a furrowed eyebrow.
"Nooooooo..." I screamed out in my head as I watched her step on the food before walking away with Kian, leaving me all alone in the kitchen.
Standing in front of the mirror, I kept staring at my reflection as I trail my fingers around the bruises on my neck and cheeks.
It was already the dinner party, and I heard that the guests had started arriving. My whole body hurts though I thank the moon goddess that I was able to finish up the cooking before their arrival.
I wish that I have a little time to rest before the ceremony but hell no! Time wasn't on my side anymore, my presence will soon be needed out there.
I looked pale and my eyes looked puffy due to the stress. I didn't even want to talk about the bruises, though I was able to hide them with tons of makeup.
Hearing the sound of my door, I stiffened. I wonder why he is here again.
Kian slowly walked toward me with his hands tucked inside his pants pocket, standing behind me. He trails his hands around my neck causing my breathing to quicken, tugging my hair behind me he draws closer and I can feel his body firmly pressed against mine.
"Wh... at is it this time around?" I wavered trying to sound strong but my voice gave it away.
"You know what today is all about, right?" He asked, "Dear, wife," he added in a satirical tone.
I went silent for a while as I curled my fists while holding my breath. I finally nod, causing him to clench his jaw in anger.
"Taking you forever to say a word but anyway I will allow your silly attitude to slide today because of our honorable visitors," he spoke with ease but there was something about the way he countered those words that made me cringe. It was cold and threatening.
"The visitors have arrived and our presence is needed there to welcome King Daemon," my breath stilled at that name.
"I believe that you won't do anything funny, their visitation is so dear to me. Don't mess it up and..." He paused and instantly fling me around so that I am now facing him. "Act accordingly, act like we are the best couples," his warning was clear and loud.
