CHAPTER 27 The Plan of the Moon Goddess

  Daemon's POV

I sighed and headed towards my closet. It didn't take long for me to finish, and when I emerged, I noticed that he was still sitting in the same spot waiting for me.

"I'm really not in the mood right now, Sam," I groaned as I walked over to my bar and grabbed a bottle of Absinthe. As soon as I sat down, someone pulled up a chair in front of me.

Although alcoholic drinks don't work on werewolves or Lycans, this drink is dangerous. However, it has no effect on us. Still, I needed a little liquid courage to help quench my raging veins.

"You seemed restless," Sam expressed his thoughts.

Pouring the drink into a glass cup, I ignored him. Once I was done spilling the drink inside the tumbler I placed the glass of wine in front of him before pouring another one into my own glass.

"Thank you," he replied. I nodded when taking a long sip before placing the glass down.

"Are you not intending to share your problems with me?" He asked again, disrupting my thoughts.

I furrowed my brow, alarmed, "Why are they trying to reach us?" I asked, not paying attention to his concern.

He stared at me for a while before letting out a deep sigh, "Is about cooperation, their Alpha and Luna have been trying to reach out to know our next move," he replied in a haste, making my body to stiff.

The Luna that means that Rhea has been trying to reach out to me, I swallowed with my eye closed but remembering that disgusting word *Alpha* and knowing that he is her goddamn husband had a flash of rage stalked in my eyes.

Opening my eyes, I snapped looking irritated, "Why are they trying to reach, did we say anything to them?"

"Well, according to them, after the incident at their pack they haven't heard from us again," Sam notified, confusing me.

"What incident?" I scoffed, looking bored.

"Hope you are not possibly thinking of finishing this drink," he blurted out.

"What incident?" I swirled the glass around my hand and asked again.

"Come on, bro," he reached out trying to grab the glass from me but I instantly withdraw my hand a bit backward.

"SAM!!" I dubbed a bit harsher this time around, dragging his butt back to his chair. I am currently not in the mood for pleasantries or beating around the bush, I am still allowing him in my room in this situation for some reason so he better not annoy me.

"Well, the incident concerning the poison their Luna made all in the name of food," a dangerous growl escaped from my lips immediately after the words left his mouth followed by the swipe of the glass tumbler.

A painful voice howled in the room, causing my lips to curl up in a satisfied smirk which disappeared not long after it appeared as I noticed Sam rubbing his arm. The area around the place where he held his hand had a little stain of blood on it.

Looking at my hand, I peered back at him before my gaze settled on the pieces of the glass tumbler shattering on the floor. I think... Not that I think but I guess that I hurt him. I pressed my lips in a thin line.

  "Sam,"

The name blurted out from my lips in concern but none of it was written on my face. I was even surprised at my action but why would he call her food poison in my presence?

"It's fine, I guess that I shouldn't have bothered you in the first place," Sam said, looking down.

"No, you are not bothering me," I lied, earning a raised brow from him. "It was not intentional, I just feel restless and I don't know why," I retorted, hesitating, my frown becoming deeper with my lips pressed in more.

I can feel my beast struggling to be released to strangle Sam's head for calling Rhea's food poison. Glazing my eyes, I snapped at my beast to get hold of himself. At least I still have partial control over him for now.

"Hmm…" smirking, Sam leaned deeper into his chair, "I still don't know why you seemed so interested in cooperating with his pack, especially with her, Daemon," I narrowed my gaze, leveling them to his.

Sam is surely spelling out more trouble than he can even handle. I don't know how long I can control my beast from shredding him to pieces. This is our mate that he is talking about but however, I spoke upholding a frigid short smile.

"We are still going to cooperate with them, at least they need our support to ally with the other packs and I am doing this for their pack not just her,"

Sam hurled me a doubtful look but I still maintained my frosty smile, "When did you become so good that you now care for another pack?" He suspiciously stared back at me.

"Are we not doing much better on our own, why have to ally with them all of a sudden? This is one of the things that you hate much, cooperating with other packs,"

"Just inform them that we are still interested," I authorized, leaving no room for an argument.

Sam shuffled in his chair, his hand folded under his chin and after a long stare, he nodded, "Fine, I will inform them in a haste,"

I nodded coldly in accordance, not like he had any choice. With a flip of my finger, I pointed at the door gesturing to him to leave.

Following the direction of my finger, he sighed before looking back at me, "But why were you, Luna Rhea, and Sheila in that hallway alone that day," I paused instantly, the mention of the name "Rhea" had my body shivered and I felt something tightened around my heart.

Shoving off the feeling, I clenched my jaw, my hand curled in a ball form but still, I masked my true feelings. Keeping an expressionless face, my demeanor remained neutral. I stared deeply at him.

"You are so interested in my life that you didn't know that Sheila followed us," I slurred, reminding him of his mistake.

Gulping hard, he stared back at me, "But why are you suddenly outraged about having Sheila beside me, we all know how close you two are," Sam added, annoying me.

I coldly titled my head to the other side before they slowly fall on him, "She is just my fuck buddy, and you moron, knows that,"

"Hmm, I am just concerned about you, Daemon, you are like my brother and anything that happens to you will eventually affect me..." he paused, "I don't know your plan with that Luna but I will like to advise you to be careful after all she is married and already has a mate,"

He noticed my face colored with rage but I still allowed my demeanor to remain neutral. Rhea is his mate but she is also my mate and she is supposed to be beside me and around a weak Alpha.

I don't know the plan of the Moon Goddess; her reasons for giving me another person's mate as mine but one thing I know for sure is that I am never going to back down. I know that there is more between us than a mate bond.

I groaned within holding back my rage, I watched coldly as Sam gulped down his drink, sparing me one last glance before he muttered, "I don't know what is it that you are planning but just know that I will always have your back,"

Turning around, he stood up from his chair and walked away.
