Rhea's POV
Everything happened in a flash, I found myself trapped to the ground by the warriors with Kian forcing a bitter liquid down my throat. I struggled and screamed to be set free as the liquid burned down my throat but instead, their grip on me tightened.
I was trembling hard, my body shaking like I was been placed inside a burning lava. I pleaded to be set free; to be released but every plea falls on deaf ears.
After he was sure that I might have gulped down every content on that cup, he pulled away and by then the full moon had disappeared. My helpless body falls on the dirt sand that only my silent tears can be heard.
"Take her to the penitentiary," he instructed the warriors who instantly dragged me inside the pack house toward the hallway and then before throwing me into the dark penitentiary and slamming the iron door damn closed.
My body hits on the rough, cold floor. I held onto my clothes as I noticed that everywhere was coated in darkness.
I could still feel pain within me, what's in that liquid? I am sure that it is the same as the one that he gave me weeks back when I lost consciousness because I can feel the exact pain though this one hurts more.
Why did he hate me so much? I wasn't the one that chose for us to be mates. His hatred for me couldn't be hidden. And for the first time today, I couldn't control my tears as I allowed them to carelessly roll down my cheeks, my silent sobs can be heard amidst the darkness circling me.
Curling myself against the cold floor, I wiped profusely. Noticing that I couldn't fight back the pain, I allowed it to overwhelm me, slipping me into the ugly shadows of the night.
I woke up to the cold air swirling around me causing my body to shiver, lifting my throbbing head. I glanced around and noticed that I was trapped in a room filled with darkness.
The floor is hard and lying on top of it is making my body hurt, what am I doing here? The smell of dusty and old woods can be perceived.
I glazed my mind thoughtfully trying to figure out how I ended up here and just in time something flashed through my mind. I remembered walking out from my room toward the northern part of our pack when suddenly I was surrounded by Kian's men.
He gave strict instructions for his men to grab me before we were interrupted by the moon. ... I shook my head to know if I can figure out what happened afterward but every other thing seems blurry to me.
I cracked my head and everything seemed blurry, I couldn't do anything but wait in the darkness for a long time. Thinking of standing up was impossible because I feel damn weak and besides I couldn't see anything in here. I lay on my spot because everywhere is clouded in the dusk.
And just in time, when thinking that I have been forgotten. The iron door made a loud cracking sound, and a very strong glow illuminated from outside inside the place, making me to instantly pull my hand to protect my eyes from the sudden light.
Adjusting my eyelid to the gleam, my breath hitched, getting stuck in my throat as I looked up and saw my demon mate, Kian.
His massive and domineering figure steps closer to me causing me to backward instantly within a swift of finger. I looked at him as he bore down on me with a flash of raw emotions filled with hatred and disgust. I gulped hard when holding the fabric of my dress in fear.
"What. What am I doing here?" I asked, fighting the urge to cry under his fierce eyes.
Lowering toward my level, he smirked, "Well, let's say that my wife, my mate almost lost it last night," his voice was brutal and sharper like a silver blade.
"Almost lost it," I repeat, glazing my mind to know if I can remember anything.
"I knew from the onset that you are worthless, your mates are out there finding their wolves yesterday but what did you do..." he paused, "Running mad and almost going insane to the extent that the warriors had to hold you in place, you are nothing but a disgrace to me," he made sure to enunciate every word in details which vibrates within my head, murdering me.
"Is that why you have me trapped here as a criminal, I am still your mate!!" I cried out.
"Shouldn't I be thanked for saving your ass out there, my mate... hmm, interesting when you couldn't even boast of a wolf,"
"Have you ever thought of how to protect your people without a wolf? It is a thing of shame having you as a Luna and mate Rhea," his voice was ruthlessly cold.
His words break me within, still, I couldn't speak. I couldn't trust my own voice not to betray me because my heart feels heavy. Instead, I gulped hard fighting back the pain.
"I know that you didn't remember a thing but come to think of it... how could you when you were obviously going insane," he blurted out without any emotion.
I recalled the warriors holding me, I knew that something happened last night but I couldn't quite place my finger on what exactly it was all about.
"Come on and I think that you shouldn't get in Lila's way because she just found her wolf yesterday, a worthless life. The Luna doesn't have a wolf whilst her beta does, what a total waste of space," he smirked but I could only stare in utter disbelief as I watched him turn his back on me heading to the door.
"W… Why?" I asked breathlessly in pain and tears, "I have done everything to please you, so tell me why the so much hatred?" He stopped moving for a few minutes and turned to face me.
"I promise to forget everything you have done to me if only you can tell me why you hated my guts this much,"
"I have done everything to make this work between us, so why?" I held onto my silky gown, bawling my eyes out.
"You think that it is easy to forget... the pain craved inside me since a child," he voice out, his eyes ruthlessly cold, showing no emotions.
And in a flash, he has his bare hands around my neck, his fierce eyes boring into mine. His grip tightened slamming me against the hard wall.
"Ki...an!!" I called, choking and unable to breathe as my hands fell on his.
"I have always warned you, is Alpha to you," he snapped viciously, and I was gasping for air.
"Please, I am hurting," I could barely hear my voice, staring into his eyes which were growing darker. But he didn't let go.
"Uhu," he snarled, "Alpha Kian, please..." My hands clung to his tightly, pleading with tears rolling down my eyes.
Reluctantly after a long time, he let go, dropping me to the floor. I quickly clutched into my neck, swallowing as much air as I could in tears.
With his back facing me, his cold voice echoed in the merciless wall like I meant nothing, "You will spend the rest of your day in here as your punishment for going against my warning and dragging me into your messed up madness last night,"
"No food and water for you throughout today," he cast me one last glance before he strode out from the place leaving me all alone in the darkness to wallow in pain.
