Rhea's POV
"I have to put an end to this," I instantly stood up from the bed, this is my image that Kian is crushing. Not minding how I was looking, I pushed Lila and Mercy out of my way and left my room. Heading toward his office.
Without much of a cordial knock at the door, I barged into his office. His cold eye slowly pulled out from the two warriors standing beside him and fell directly at me.
The two warriors quickly lowered their heads submissively, but my eyes were cold, filled with pain and hurt to even acknowledge their greeting.
"Leave us," in his cold voice, the two warriors scurried out of the office, leaving only the two of us.
"Why are you here?" His face colored in disgust, I almost flinched at his loud voice but I maintained my stand.
"Have you not asked yourself what damage this rumor might cause?" I questioned when staring back at him.
"I have warned you never to enter my office or stay anywhere around me except doing events or any public gathering," he reminds me of those silly rules that he made, and I noticed his face hardened.
"And tell me how you will be able to face the crowds in public after this whole rumor might have circulated everywhere?"
"Get out!" He latched out with a morose look.
"You know so well that this is my image that you are staining," my lips moved faster than I would have liked as I listened to the fast beating of my heart.
"How do you expect the thorn pack to cooperate with the pack where Luna is claimed to be demented?"
"And does it seem as if I care about your damn reputation and what they have to think?" his voice was huskier than ever, leaving a cold trail down my spine
But still, I stood rooted to my spot, without flinching, surprising him.
"Did you ever consider me a wife, are you sure that this alliance means anything to you because you are paving through the wrong direction...?" I paused, looking into his cold brutal gaze.
"If not for anything but for the sake of the pack and their reputation, stop being selfish, Kian," I don't know why I said that. I don't even know where the bravery came from and the last thing that I wanted right now is making him furious. I just wanted him to see things from the right angle.
Though I am still hurting, my mate hates me and despises me so much. My heart was bleeding badly but I couldn't do anything. Kian's gaze narrowed on me, standing up from his chair. He started taking a drastic step toward me, part of me wanted to run but the other one who was much in control stood rooted to the exact spot.
And suddenly, I was greeted by Kian's rough grip on my neck, slamming me against the hard wall. An unexpected groan left my lips stretching a satisfied smile on his face.
Kian leaned close so that our noses could briefly touch, I could feel his hot breath on my lips. I felt lustful sparkles but not to be compared to that of Daemon.
I felt him brushing past my cheeks to my ear, "Rhea Clawson," he called my name like it was a noxious fume to his lips. Our eyes connected again, and I wasn't surprised by the way he addressed me, if not for the sake of the publicity he has never addressed me by his surname.
I guess that I didn't deserve to answer the name under his gaze, "Why did you allow those sick words to roll out from your lips, moron?" His voice was calm but damn dangerous.
"Stop acting as if you own an important place in my heart," my eyes held fear as those heavy words left his lips like I meant absolutely nothing. Burning tears clouded around my eyes, blinking them back. I tried to remind myself of the promise of not allowing them to see my tears, especially the demon in front of me.
"I don't care!" I yelled in his face with the little strength that I could muster, I swallowed painfully when fighting back the tears. "But for the sake of the pack, think twice… think twice!!"
His hold on my neck tightened, "Yes, kill me, kill me!!" I yelled, the tears threatening to roll down my face.
"If I kill you where is the fun in it," he smirks deadly before his eye hardened more, and his hand crushed me deeper into the wall. "Who do you think that you are, telling me what to do… I think that I have gone gentle with you, which makes you open that filthy mouth and tell me what to do!" He barked, looking intensely into my eye like he was searching for something.
I know what he wants to see… the fears that he has imposed on me, the tears that always roll down my face whenever I am around him.
Squeezing his hands, my nails dug into his flesh as I battled to breathe, "Huh…. Let Me go!"
After a little hesitation, he released me from his grip, tossing me to the ground like a worthless being. His cold eyes were fixed on me unmoving as I struggled to breathe when holding my neck.
"A letter has been sent from the head council, Thorn pack, the Alpha requested to see us for business affairs," he said suddenly, pulling my attention.
"I didn't skin you alive because I was preserving you for this meeting," I coughed hard, my cold gaze hatefully glaring at him.
Taking a few strides forward, he lowered to my level, "Don't make any mistakes," he warned, standing up and turning his back on me to leave but I instantly stopped him.
"Why won't you attend with your lovely mistresses, or are ashamed to present them to the world?" For every statement that left my lips were filled with raw pain.
He turned and stared at me expressionlessly, "Don't feel so high, if not for one thing, I bet you that you won't be the crowned Luna," his words pierced sharply through my chest, but I pushed back the tears that were struggling to roll down.
"I won't be attending… You then have to go, after all, you are the Alpha," with the last strength in me, I made the effort to keep my emotions out of my voice.
Suddenly, I felt him beside me, gripping my hair roughly. A sharp pain shot through my scalps, I curled my fist fighting the pain within.
Letting out a dangerous growl, he leaned forward, "You will attend and if you still value your life don't play these silly mind games with me or less…" Forcefully pushing me away, I smashed my head on the cold floor.
"Ahh," I bite hard on my lips stopping the groan from slipping out from my mouth as I watched him furiously storm out from the place.
