CHAPTER 38 The Worst Humiliation

  Rhea's POV

I woke up with an aching groin, fuck... My whole body still hurts especially my head. I think that I might have a margarine not after experiencing a pain that hurts more than death itself.

I feel so sick and disoriented. I noticed that I can't seem to move my body, I am just facing upward. Using minutes to figure out how I might have arrived here and that's when the image of Mercy rushing into my room when I was almost losing consciousness slipped into my mind. A wave of anger suddenly flowed through me, she wasn't supposed to see me at my worst. Now I feel humiliated and worthless.

Slowly swirling my head around, I glanced around the room. On my left, a computer was stationed beside me monitoring my heartbeat and blood pressure. I noticed something on my hand, looking down I noticed a cuff that was tightened around my arms for taking readings. On my right-hand side is a plastic clamp placed over my finger, and an intravenous tube fixed on my upper left arm where the IV fluid was slowly dripping through the line straight to my veins for strength.

I don't have to be told twice that I am lying goddamn in a pack hospital bed. I hate the fact that I always make myself appear too weak in front of them all despite how strongly I tried to act. I wonder if Kian was aware of my present condition.

Though I wonder what might have been the cause of what transpired last night in my room? I groaned, swallowing was difficult. My throat and body hurts badly, I can feel my swollen eyes and the bruises around my body.

I feel fucking thirsty and wished for something to help quench my scorching throat when the door was suddenly pulled open.

"Oh! You're awake!" Mercy staggered. "LUNA... Lu...NA," she rang her hand nervously and I knew that instant that something was wrong.

Gulping hard, I managed to force the words out from my lips, "Wh... At. Is. happen… ing?"

"You know that you can still not go," she flushed and kept pulling her curls in frustration, "You have not yet recovered, I can make something and tell him,"

Inhaling deeply, I snapped my head coldly at her, "What is it?" I managed with the little strength in me to pull on a long face, "TALK!!" I latched out, freaking her.

"Hmm... Please, you will get hurt," she cried out, "MERCY!" I shot her a warning stare.

"The Alpha has requested to see you, and… please, I told him that you are badly injured and lying on the hospital bed but still, he demands your presence immediately," she finished with a sigh, her voice so shaky and filled with panic.

I understand her concern though I hate the fact that she feels pity for me, I hate being pitied, and besides I am her Luna and I can not be weak or seen as one.

"Come here," she stepped closer to me with tears stung in her eyes, "Detach the cuff from my arms," she did as instructed with shaky hands.

"Good," I blurted. Placing my hand on the bed, with the little strength that I was able to gather. I suddenly pulled myself out of the sick bed. The IV tube was still in my hand, with the IV standing beside me.

Standing upright, I felt my knees vibrate, unable to stand straight. I almost staggered, "My Luna...!" Mercy hurried to my side to keep me steady.

"You know that you can still rest…"

I shot her a sharp glare, causing her to quickly go quiet. My grip tightened around the IV stand and I started walking out of the hospital room with unsteady steps. My body was shaking and walking was more like a painful journey but holding onto the help of Mercy beside me and the IV stand I was able to make some moves.

Thankfully, there were not that many people in the hallway. We stopped at Kian's chamber, keeping me comfortably at the wall for support. Mercy stepped forward to alert Kian of my arrival. My breathing was heavier for having walked that distance from the pack hospital to here despite my condition.

Not that long, Mercy came out and helped me out from the wall toward the inside of his room. The atmosphere was cold and terrifying as usual but I maintained my frosty look.

His eyes were on me, I didn't look away rather I tightened my grip around the IV stand. A slow smile spread over his face, " Leave us," he commands.

I noticed Mercy went rigid beside me, her widened gaze trailing from me and then at Kian, "She is badly wounded and can't stand on her own, please Alpha,"

"Get out!!" He growled, his cold gaze falling on Mercy. She flinched visibly at his loud voice, sparing me a quick pitiful look. She hurried out of the room, leaving me stuck here with this demon.

Ahh... I held onto the stand for balance, it was hard and my legs were extremely shaking. Staring at my helpless self, Kian suddenly erupts into a laugh. Such a cold and emotionless laugh that causes my blood to freeze in my veins.

"You dare pay deaf deeds to my call last night," his voice was frosty and deadly. "I requested your presence last night and you dare went to the hospital ignoring me,"

What is he talking about? I waited for his ass all night before the tremendous pain, I asked Mercy to inform me about his arrival, and still, I waited... Did Mercy rush to inform me that he had returned when she found me unconscious on the floor?

"I told your assistant to call you but you went to the hospital, wify," he deadly smiled.

"I wasn't feeling fine," I managed to talk. "Shut the fuck up!" He growled.

"Is none of my business or does it look like I care?" He leaned forward, his hot breath fanning my neck as he snarled behind my ear. I wanted to talk but for some reason, I remained mute.

Stepping away from me, he intentionally pushes the stand causing my hand to quickly slipped out from it. Ahhh... An unexpected scream escaped my lips, and the line that connected the IV bag in the stand to my hand pulled away. The cannula bites into my skin and forcefully pulled out from my hand. Everything happened in a flash, I find myself flat on the floor and the IV stand rolled to the other side of the floor.

I grit my teeth, looking down at my hands where drops of blood kept gushing out due to the forceful pulling of the cannula. His cold laugh was echoing in every corner of the room. Stooping to my level, he lifted my chin so that I can look at him. "My bad, I forgot that my wife was worthless and can't possibly stand on her own," he ridiculed.

Laughing, he stood up before letting out commands, "Let them in," and just then his room door was opened. Looking behind, I saw Lila and Fiona with some new young girls on their lingering walking inside.

What is going on, Rhea? I asked myself, I hope is not what am thinking. I looked up at Kian searching for an answer and of course, he noticed my confusion because a wide dangerous smile break through his lips.

Turning to stare at me, he had my heart smashed into the mud with his next words. This is the last thing that I have wanted to experience in my life, this is the worst humiliation that can happen to someone.

  Why Kian...!
