CHAPTER 45 Violence is not the Right Way

  Daemon's POV

  Bang!

I slammed the door forcefully against the wall, causing everyone in the room to turn their heads toward me. They trembled upon catching sight of my intense and fearsome expression.

  "King Dae… Daemon,"

Instantly, every person in the room stood up and bowed subserviently. It was a reaction I had grown accustomed to over time. My mere presence seemed to instill fear in people, and when I was angry, it was even more palpable. I didn't fault them for their reactions; it was just the effect I had on others.

"Leave," I commanded, and without hesitation, every soul in the server room scrambled out, except for Sam, who remained engrossed in his work, and focused on the computer in front of him.

Striding inside, my eye keeps flickering at the computers mounted at every corner of the room. "Any news, yet,"

  "Nothing interesting yet," Sam retorted.

My temples tighten up and it makes me angry. I reached up and rubbed my temples as I continued to glaze around thoughtfully.

"What do you mean nothing interesting since yesterday, sitting your damn ass in front of this computer?!" I emphasized the word "Yesterday" to remind him how long it had been.

"You told me this yesterday evening, come on, bro," he turned to me. "It hasn't been up to 24 hours,"

I glared at him directly with a rugged face, "Does it have to be up to 24 hours before you can find something?"

  "Daemon…"

"Is okay, I guess that I have to take a look by myself," I pushed him a bit and sat almost closer to the computer. My gaze was fixed on the write-ups displayed on top of the screen.

My eyelid twitches, "What is this... Meaning?"

"What are you talking about?" Sam asked softly, curiosity lacing through his voice. Pushing his chair forward, he intends to have a closer look at the computer.

"What's the meaning of this write-up?" I asked eagerly, my eyes beginning to shimmer with excitement.

"Is it the fact that he laid a claim on her after the demise of her family and as well the pack?" He raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"Yes, exactly... What does it mean?"

"Why didn't he claim her when her parents were alive since he contends that she was his?"

Sam sighed and turned away from the screen to stare at me, "Two packs have been enemies, so there is no way you expect him to just walk up to Alpha Clawson and start laying claims on her daughter…" he expresses his thoughts.

  "And what's wrong with that?"

"Maybe he is afraid of rejection," I watched him shrug his shoulders. "This is confusing, Daemon,"

My face has an expressionless mask on, making it hard for Sam to read my thoughts but when my gaze met his. I noticed the confusion roaming in them. Sam seems to be in deep thought.

Sighing deeply, I stood up pushing the chair in the process. I ambled toward the door in anger and with so much eagerness before I was suddenly stopped by Sam.

"Where to?" He asked, his gaze boring at my back.

"You know…" I turned around with a forceful smile playing at the bottom of my lips but the coldness in my eyes didn't go unnoticed. "You know that assuming I haven't listened to your silly plans yesterday, my mate should have been here with me. Leaving under the same roof with me,"

I yelled, emphasizing each of my words so that he could get my point.

"And I strongly believe that we should be planning now on how to go about the battle with the Blackwood Pack," he nodded in a mock understanding, earning a sharp glare in return.

"Who cares about the storm when my mate... My mate is right here with me?!" I sneered with a scornful look on my face.

He sighed exasperatedly when shaking his head negatively, "You are paving the wrong path, bro,"

"Violence is not the right way," he disapproves.

"Don't be delusional, Sam, this is my mate that I am talking about, and just an ordinary girl,"

"That's the point since she doesn't have a won't yet. If she is truly your mate, I believe that she can feel the connection… she can feel the bond, so earn her love and trust because you don't expect her to run to you in open arms not after believing for years that Kian is her true mate,"

Sam points out, making my body stiffen. A flash of rage gleamed through my eyes. How long do I have to wait to earn her trust when all she does is think about him… That brat of an Alpha!

"You think it's easy for me to sit here and watch my mate roaming around with that maggot," I sadly let out a smile, one that holds unspoken pain.

"You have to learn how to get hold of your emotions this time, bro,"

I felt a sharp thud at my chest, his words seemed to have infuriated me. "I have not yet bitten off your head all this while... Is just a reason, don't make me regret it,"

  "Bro, I am just…"

"Get out," I cut him off and counted each word most terrifyingly, making it so obvious that I have already lost the last straw of patience in me.

"Daemon, I am just concerned and wanted a better way to fix this without you hurting yourself,"

  "Leave now, Sam!"

A loud growl emanated from me, the atmosphere suddenly became uncomfortable. I can feel my angry beast in the corner of my head, his struggles to be set free.

Seeing Sam's resistance to not wanting to go, the last thing I wanted now is hurting him. If I stay any longer here I will hurt him, snarling. I pushed him out of my way and slowly walked away.

I need a moment to calm my nagging head and think straight. I am beginning to lose it every single day.
