Rhea's POV
There was a gasp and murmur among everyone present in the room at that moment. My gaze was fixed on Kian who as well looked taken back by my words. I know that I should have just stood up and walked back to my room but that will just make me a coward and give them enough room to trash me anyhow. I am not ready to stand that low again and watch them step on me like nobody.
"Rhea," his deep scary voice echoed through the room but still I remained rooted to my spot.
"I advise you to go there and sit down and besides I am sure that no one wants to eat cold food as breakfast," his gaze widened at my words.
Maintaining my expressionless face, I noticed his orbs brimmed with ridicule and his like twitched slightly, "Interesting..."
Giving me one last glance, he angrily walked out of the room. I watched as Fiona snarled before walking away.
Shrugging my shoulders reluctantly, "Anyone else that wants to leave," I glanced at their confused and surprised faces and just then Lila stood up and left as well.
After a few seconds of silence, I cleared my throat and muttered with a satisfying smile, "We can all dig in,"
Though my life sucks for some minutes in my messy life, I feel delighted and proud of this Luna title.
The satisfying smile on my face seeing their helpless faces was everything to me. I didn't even know what happened there, where that bravery came from. I just wanted to show them that they can never be allowed to crawl or toss me around like nothing. I might not have a wolf but that doesn't take the Luna title away from me.
Even if they didn't respect me at least they must respect that title Luna. So sad, all these good feelings scattered when I noticed him behind me. I didn't have to turn my head to know that it was that shameless demon husband of mine.
I felt his adverse energy like a frightening black cloud, he grabbed my wrist in a rigorous and brutal grip and growled at me, "How dare you?"
I stared at him stupidly, pretending as if I had no idea what he was talking about, "What are you saying?"
"Don't play dumb with me," he snarled coldly.
I forcefully wrenched my wrist away, "Sorry but I still don't get you," I watched him throw his head back at my words and laughed. It was a cold and emotionless laugh that can make one's blood freeze in their veins.
"Now not only is my wife mentally unstable but also a dummy," his face hardened, and just then I felt him choking me deeper into the wall. Strangely, I couldn't feel any twinges or sparks, but all I could feel for him was resentment and raw hatred.
"What the hell are you doing?" I gasped, glaring at him. Ignoring the intense stare that he was hurling my way, whatever is bothering him is the least of my problem right now. I could feel the air slowly vanishing from my lungs as his grip tightened.
My hand squeezes his, ignoring his sharp stare. I dug my nails deep into his skin, "Let go of me!"
His sharp gaze was fixed straight at me almost like he was contemplating and arguing with himself but soon enough those emotions were replaced by a cold stare.
"How dare you disrespect me in there?!" He said suddenly, his eyes flared up hurling me a deathly stare.
"I didn't disrespect you, Alpha Kian," I held his gaze and forced myself never to look away despite his burning stare.
"I gave you a simple instruction; why didn't you vacate your seat for Fiona!!" He demands harshly, deepening his grip on me.
Gulping hard, I maintained my frosty look, "You should have considered that before announcing me as your Luna,"
He was taken aback by my words, he sure wasn't expecting that. I watched him gaze into my eyes, the resentment flickering around them but soon his confused stare was replaced by a dangerous look on his face.
"I see that you have grown a spine, Rhea," he let out a terrifying snarl. "Don't be mistaken, Rhea, you think that if I have my way that you will be crowned as my Luna," his word hurts me, but I tried my best to keep my emotions at bay.
"The mate stuff, everything… I never wished for that," he suddenly let go of me and tossed me to the ground like I weighed nothing.
His gaze fixed on me unmoving, he took a curious and conscious step toward me. "Rhea," he called the name like it was a poisonous venom.
"You sure have grown a spine," he narrowed his eyes at me like a predator wanting to devour its prey.
"I might take insults from you but I will never accept your so-called mistresses stepping on my space," I shook my head stubbornly.
Kian stares at me expressionless, "Don't think highly of yourself, Rhea," he growled.
"It will take me nothing to reject you and you will see that this title that is giving you power will be snatched away from you," I stiffened at that very moment.
No words were able to make it to my lips, noticing my sudden change in demeanor. A smirk appeared at the bottom of his lips before he roughly grabbed my hair pulling me off the ground so that our bodies could meet halfway. "Don't annoy me, Rhea,"
We were inches away from each other, my throat burning as I inhaled his scent. For some odd reason, his scent makes my stomach churns. I felt nausea and my heart was filled with nothing but hatred.
I didn't say a word but kept glaring at him and that only widened his smile. Kian released his hold before pushing back to the ground, "I see that you fear rejection, dear wife,"
Smart head, I know that he was going to use that against me though I never saw that coming. So it has gotten to this extent… Rejection!!
His smile suddenly faded away and was replaced with a fierce look, "If you value your position then better don't annoy me," with that, he stormed out of the hallway.
