CHAPTER 49 Nothing to Lose

  Rhea's POV

"You know..." I suddenly spoke up, "Rejecting me is of no use," he instantly stopped at my words.

"I have no wolf to accept your rejection even if you went ahead and rejected me. You think I have something to lose," I took a curious step forward, he is not going to get the whole satisfaction.

"What nonsense are you talking about? He swerved to look at me.

"You heard me, right, Alpha Kian," my eyes held no fear as those words left my lips like the Luna title meant absolutely nothing to me. Even though within me I am crossing my fingers praying that he doesn't take that bold step Rejection because that title is the only thing that I am only relying on during this period.

I can't fail in my marriage and also lose my title. Suddenly, Kian froze like he had poured a full bag of ice on his body. For that moment he couldn't say a word, almost like words were stuck in his throat. I could see the shock and confusion in his eyes.

"What is still stopping you? Come on, dear husband, reject me and see if I will lose anything," my lips moved faster than I could even imagine as I listened to the fast beating of my heart.

"Come on, reject me, and let's get over with all this!" I yelled, surprising him more.

"No, I can't," he whispered to himself but I heard him just fine.

"Hmm..." I laughed mockery when taking a few strides forward, "So tell me, dear husband, why you suddenly don't want to reject me? I believe rejecting me is going to be the best thing that can ever happen to you and the pack,"

Kian's eyes hardened more under my persistent words, "What the hell do you think you are doing?" He asked.

Looking intensely into his eyes, I can see something. Something that confused me, I don't know if I can call it something like... Emotions. I froze for a moment but cleared my throat and I shook the feeling off me. This demon here doesn't have any emotions.

"What the fuck do you think you are saying?" Those emotions soon disappeared and were replaced by raw hatred toward me.

"You suggested that," I leveled my gaze, holding his fierce eye.

"Choose your words carefully; the weight of the word 'rejection' is significant," he warned, his voice filled with a hint of caution.

"Is that so?" I scoffed, biting my lip in a mocking manner. I couldn't help but notice, for the second time, the lustful glimmer that briefly darkened his gaze at my provocative action before he cleared his throat awkwardly.

"Let's not misunderstand each other. If it were up to me, I could have rejected you right here and now. Unfortunately, we still have unfinished business with the cooperating packs, especially the Thorn Pack," he explained.

At the mention of the Thorn Pack, my heart skipped a beat, and images of Daemon flooded my mind. His name on his lips and the intensity of his presence made my body tremble with both anticipation and fear.

"But your presence is still necessary," he continued, bringing me back to reality.

"I would be more than willing to grant your wish," I replied, my voice steady and resolute. "My presence holds no value, and you can continue with any of your mistresses."

My own words frightened me the most. Rejection held immense consequences. Losing the title was one thing, but the possibility of never seeing Daemon again loomed over me. However, I had already set this course in motion, and I refused to back down easily. I had taken the first step, and I wouldn't allow him to claim victory.

Kian stared at me confused, "What nonsense are you saying?" He yelled.

"Which of my mistresses do you expect to do that? You are the Luna so you are meant to take care of this,"

"Now… my presence of a worthless being suddenly matters but sorry to disappoint you, I need you to reject me," I never planned for this argument to go this far but I guess I need to finish what I started.

  "Don't push me," he snapped.

"I meant every word that left my lips," and for some unknown reason, I glowered back at him, challenging him at his own words. At this moment I care less about anything, he can go ahead and do anything.

  "Rhea!!!"

"What will you do? Huh… beat me or strangle me because you know too well that the pack can't function well without my presence," I mocked him.

"Don't taste my patience, Rhea," he was now inches away from me.

"Huh," I held onto his blazing stare, "I still maintain my words,"

After a few hours of silence, he suddenly muttered, "What do you want?" His voice was low and demanding.

And at that moment, an idea suddenly sneaked into my mind, putting a smile on my face. "You want me to stay out of your mistress' space, right?" He nodded, suspiciously staring at me.

  "Change my Beta,"
