Rhea's POV

　　"What do you mean? To change a Beta," confusion laced through his voice.

　　Retaining my frosty look, I uttered, "I no longer want Lila as my beta,"

　　"How?"

　　"You heard me right, change her,"

　　"Change her to what position exactly and then who will be your beta?" He asked, his gaze still focused on my every move.

　　"I don't care about the position that you give her but the main thing is to change her and about my beta... Mercy is fit for the position,"

　　"WHAT!!" My words came as a shock to him.

　　Staring at me expressionlessly, "That is bullshit," he growled. "That's the highest humiliation to Lila, demoting her and having a commoner ascend her position," he disapproves instantly.

　　And to be honest, his words hurt me. So right now he knew that it would be a humiliation but when he was disgracing me and tossing me around like I wasn't enough, he didn't know that it was a humiliation.

　　I gulped hard, pushing back the tears that were adamant about appearing. "Then have your sweet mistress handle the pack affairs and see how things turn around,"

　　I was damn angry and pained at how much he hated me, yet he couldn't reject me. Fuck, I am more than frustrated and I want him to feel the same. Confused and shattered by having to handle this decision which I am sure is tough for him.

　　I noticed that he hadn't said a word for a while. Though his gaze was fixed on me, unmoving, more like he was contemplating and mulling over my words within himself.

　　But soon those emotions were replaced by cold stares hurled in my direction, "Fine," he blurted out.

　　I raised a brow at him, urging him to talk. "I will change your beta but I can never make a low-life omega your beta... That is a slap across Lila's face,"

　　My heart squeezed at his words, he cares so much about her. Smiling, I walked over, filling the little space between us. "Then I will rather stay without a beta,"

　　Kian's eyes narrowed on me, his fierce gaze taking in my appearance. If it is my older self I could be shrinking in fear by now but the new me stood rooted on my spot and held his stare.

　　His eyes darkened a shade and gripped my collar and pulled me toward him. My his hold irritating my skin, strange…

　　"Don't get all excited, wify, it is just for a short period," his deathly stare pierced deeply into my eyes but still I never attempted to look away.

　　Noticing my behavior, he angrily released his hold and pushed me off him. "Just for a short period and I couldn't resist the urge of removing that title off your head," and with that word, he walked out of the place.

　　It has been a few days since the last time I saw Kian after our encounter in the hallway. For days I haven't stepped out of my chamber, I needed a moment to cool off and strategize on how to move next.

　　Demoting Lila doesn't even affect me after all, having her around here has brought nothing but disrespect and humiliation to me. The fact that she couldn't resist rubbing it in my face shows how well she pleases my husband in bed all night. Neglecting her duties and walking freely like an early morning bird.

　　Though part of me wished that Kian granted my wish and made Mercy beta. That could be a thing of joy to me, to see the disgraceful look on Lila's face but as usual, that demon husband of mine couldn't dare to hurt her beloved mistress.

　　Sighing, I swirled around in anger. I was sitting on my bed looking outside my window when suddenly I heard a knock at the door.

　　"Come in,"

　　The door was pushed open and Mercy walked in, "Good day my Luna,"

　　I turned to spare her a glance, nodding my head to acknowledge her presence.

　　"You have a visitor," she announced, surprising me.

　　"Who?"

　　"Beta Sam from the Thorn Pack," I froze instantly in my spot like a rain-soaked chicken, my hand gripping the window flame damn tight.

　　"Beta Sam," I murmured but I was suddenly interrupted by a feminine presence that barged into the room in nothing but anger.

　　"How dare you!!"

　　"Lila, watch your tone... You're talking to your Luna, remember,"

　　"To hell with you!" Pain flickering through her eyes.

　　"Don't make me call the guards on you," I warned, threatening her.

　　Smiling painfully, she took a curious step toward me, "Does it look like I care," she mumbled quietly.

　　I noticed her gaze darkened in hatred," You have done it all... Tell me what else you will do, tell me!!!"

　　"Lila," I let out a warning call.

　　"No! Call them to throw me out," she laughed bitterly, tears clouding her vision. "You have succeeded in demoting me from my position, making me a commoner, right,"

　　Mercy's eyes widened, I could see the mockery smile on her face as she continued looking at her.

　　"What else will you do? You have done it all…" she cried out.

　　"Tell me!!" Noticing the raw pain that kept lacing her voice, I knew that she was going through heartbreak and pain. The best thing to do is just to ignore her and walk away.

　　I then turned to Mercy whose face was shadowed in euphoria, "Where is the visitor?"

　　"Outside, Luna," she replied instantly.

　　"Fine, take me there,"

　　"Where did you think you were going? Come back and throw me out!!!"

　　Ignoring her depressed words, I stormed out of the place leaving her all alone to wallow in pain and self-disgrace.
