CHAPTER 62 A Promise

  Rhea's POV

  To claim what...?

This is not going to happen, I seriously need to think fast. I need a solution to this madness before anyone else could hear this.

He is sure not going to start this right now, I can sense the seriousness in his voice. This is total madness, claiming a married woman, and trust me this is not going to end well.

I know despite not being a match for a Lycan, I am sure that Daemon won't leave this pack with me without having to face some challenges like fighting with Kian and some of our pack members which I am sure that Daemon will win.

But what could become of me after that; his wife or mistress? How will the world view me? A Luna that couldn't keep his marriage but had the damn gut to seduce the king... That's viewing me as a whore.

Not only will I fail my parents but the whole pack that I have been enduring and fighting for till today. Sighing I stared up at Daemon who had a stoic expression.

  "This doesn't seem right,"

"Every single thing seems right," he groaned when reaching for my chin.

But I stepped back leaving his hand hanging, I can see the anger in his eyes. I swallowed, acting unbothered, "Fine, this whole thing is hard to digest, why not you go and I will pay you a visit in two days," I clasped my hand tight, praying that he would accept.

But his snarl had my hopes crumbled, "Why do you want to play with my intelligent mate?" I gulped at his words, his calling me that makes me feel somehow. A deep spark that leaves me confused.

"Besides I didn't come here for you to approve, I am here to drag you back to where you belong, mate," a shiver ran through my spine as a horror image of my fate clouded my head. I tried to absorb his words which sounded so foreign to me.

"It's a promise," I said. He raised his eyebrow at me in doubt. I coughed trying to reduce the tension in the air.

"As I said earlier, I am not here for this. You are leaving here with me, so better get yourself prepared," he maintained, his frosty voice scaring me.

I needed to come up with something to make him leave, I fidgeted with my fingernails as I gulped hard at what I was about to do. This is my first time attempting to do this, I only hope that it works and not making me look stupid in the end, especially if Daemon still persists.

1... 2... 3 let's go! I mumbled to myself before swaying my hips to the sides with a smug smirk on my lips.

I noticed his gaze darkened. I think this is a very terrible idea, I so much wanted to crawl back but noticing how he is raking and lustfully looking at me, boosts my confidence.

He took in my every slow move, stopping in front of him. I placed my hand on his chest noticing how he tensed under my touch. I smiled inwardly, now it is time for me to play a game where I will emerge victorious at the very end.

"I am yours, right," His gaze darkened at my words.

"Then allow me to pay a visit where we are going to sort this out, of course not here but in your pack," he wanted to decline but my next word caught him off guard.

"If you love me then do that; just in two days and everything will be solved," I said seductively with a pleading stare that I am sure he couldn't resist.

He is literally contemplating and at the same time salivating right now under my looks, it seems like he was having an inner battle within himself.

Narrowing my gaze, I looked at him seductively, and right now I am sure that he is already powerless. This is my first time doing this and from his expression and the dark shades of lust flickering in his eyes, I believe that I'm doing better.

Sighing, he groaned," In two days," he said, earning a wide smile from me.

"After two days and I didn't see you believe me, you won't like the outcome," he threatened. But I only shrugged in return, "You already have my word,"

Turning to leave and that's when Kian walked in with Mercy holding a glass of coffee behind him. Seeing our closeness, Kian's face hardened though he had a look of confusion on his face.

"My King, you came... Sorry, I wasn't around to welcome you properly," he bowed submissively, flashing his fake smile.

"Yes, I see," Daemon counted his every word most terrifyingly, making it obvious that he wasn't happy to see him.

The air around us becomes so uncomfortable, but still, Daemon continued looking at him so intensely that if only looks can kill I am sure Kian will be dead by now. Kian bewilderingly stared at him and then at me, trying to figure out the reason for that statement.

Snarling, I watched Daemon spare me a quick glance, "Two days_" he reminded me before walking away, leaving the three of us all alone in the garden.

I gulped hard and looked away from the unsettling stare of Kian when releasing a breath of relief. At least I am so happy that he left without someone bumping into us when we were in an intimate position.

"Two days," I turned to see the owner of the voice, "What is he talking about!" He inquired.

"Is the meeting between the four packs because of our alliance," I lied, hating myself that this is the only lie that I could come up with.

"And he came all the way from the Thorn pack just because of this thing that you just mentioned," his lips pulled up doubtfully.

"He was here to see you and since you weren't around he disclosed this only information to me," I lied again. But he continued glaring disgustedly at me.

"And you have to be this close!!" He thundered but instead of shrinking back in fear, I remained rooted to my spot taking him by surprise.

"Who let you out of your room?!" He demands harshly.

"I am not a slave, so I decided to let myself out," I said, causing him to growl loudly.

I watched as his forehead twitched slightly and knew that I might have hurt his ego but before he could unleash his anger on me, one of our warriors walked in interrupting us.

"My Alpha, someone is here to see you," he announced.

Turning around, "Who?" He snapped. I tilted my head to hear who he was going to call but unfortunately, the guard leaned forward and whispered something to him.

Widening his eyes, he nodded before turning to glare at me, "Wait till I am back," he threatened before striding away.

What a way to leave my life! I sighed, plopping back on the bench.
