Kian's POV
Sparing Rhea one last glance, I turned around and started walking straight to my office after the message from one of my guards.
Opening my office door, I walked in, and surprisingly my gaze locked with Sheila who was sitting elegantly on the couch with one of her legs crossed over the other as if she owned the damn place.
Sighing, I closed the door and walked in, "I didn't even know that you're the one waiting for me in the office,"
Going through my desk, I sat down on the chair, "So tell me... What brought you here?"
Smiling, she leaned back into the couch, her gaze not leaving mine. "I didn't remember inviting you over and if it was about what happened back then at the party then I'm sorry for my wife's misconduct," I apologized not knowing what else to say but my word seemed to have outraged her.
Her smiles fade away replaced with a frosty look, "Well, I expect you to be a very smart man, Alpha Kian... Do you expect me to still be wallowing over your wife's ill-mannered behavior?" She snapped harshly, ensuring that I got every hint.
I arched a brow at her, "Then why are you here?" I demanded, "Because we sure weren't expecting you," I smiled, putting on my fakest smile.
There is this tension in the air, something doesn't feel right and I just hope that Rhea hasn't done something terrible again.
"Huh," she groaned before relaxing back on the couch, "Where is she?"
I looked at her, "Where is who?" I inquired, "Is it, my wife?"
"Yes, your wife," her gaze was fixed on me but before I could react she let the bomb out of her lips, "The one that you have lied to all these years that she is your mate,"
WHAT?!
Her eyes pulled up to meet mine and I stared at her with confusion, what is she talking about? This is like your deepest secret unveiling to the world.
"When are you planning to let her know that she isn't yours?"
Her question echoed in my ear, seeming to have awoken me from any trances that I was some few moments ago.
"What are you talking about?" I grunted in my usual deep and vicious tone, trying to insert fear in her but she just laughed it off.
"When will you tell her that all these years, she has been claimed by another that wasn't truly her mate?" She said, a deadly smirk flashing at the bottom of her lips.
I furrowed my brow, annoyed, "What nonsense are you talking about?" I snapped, and my heart thudded hard. How did she find out?
"Or do you want me to tell her?" She raised her brow with a silly smile on her lips.
"Don't you dare!" I growled, threateningly.
"Will you continue denying or pull yourself together and let's know how to fix this mess,"
I ran my fingers through my black jet hair, staring down at her sitting elegantly on the couch. As I kept hurling her an undecipherable glance and a suspicious look. My heart beats so fast, I clenched the arm of my chair tight, fighting the urge to scream out. What the hell is wrong with me? How did I let this little secret slip out?
Sighing, I stared back at her and noticed that she was looking back at me as well, "How did you know?" I asked calmly, doing everything to hide my emotions.
Giving me a very long look, she sighed and leaned forward, "How I get to know is none of your business, Alpha Kian, I believe what we should be talking about is how to pull you out of this mess,"
"Remember that you just can't come into my office and start threatening me!" I shot back, snapping at her.
"Should I tell her?" She snarled, glaring furiously at me.
Smiling, I leaned forward in such a way that our faces were inches away from each other, "You have no evidence, pretty one," I lashed out mockingly, dangerously flashing my canine not minding that she is a Lycan.
Not quite long after I was done talking, I saw her throw back her head and laugh hard. It was a cold and emotionless laugh that made my blood freeze in my veins. "You wish," she whispered so that only I could hear before folding her arms and relaxing back on the couch.
"Huh... I don't wish rascal but one thing I won't take is having you come in here to utter rubbish and now if you don't mind just excuse me," stretching my right hand, I pointed to the door.
Giving the door a quick glance, she pulled her gaze back to mine, "I'm not going anyway, Alpha Kian," she blurted out through gritted teeth, infuriating me.
"Get the fuck out of my office!"
"And I maintained every single word that leaves my lips," she yelled, "I am not going anywhere,"
I instantly stood up, letting out a warning growl but she leaned forward growling, returning the same energy. "Just put your pride aside and let's clear this mess... You need me and I also need you!" She barked out, confusing me.
Knitting my brow together in anger, I fume, "I don't fucking need your goddamn forsaking help!!"
"She is not your mate, Kian," her sudden words got me, she sounded so sure.
Snarling, I glared at her. I didn't need her to find out anything, "She is my mate, you rascal!!" I screeched.
Causing her to instantly stand up from her chair, matching my energy. Her gaze has already darkened, hitting her hand on the desk in front of me. She unveiled the one word that had me frozen in my spot.
"Her true mate is King Daemon!!"
