Kian's POV
Looking out through the tinted glass, I didn't even know when we arrived at the Thorn pack. I sighed striding out of the car and walking straight into the pack house.
I will say that the pack is a busy place, fully crowded. Sometimes I wonder how Daemon is able to control them and still rule the whole of the other hundred packs out there.
Anyways that's not why I am here, I proceed to where I was heading, not minding the lustful eyes of the female passing through the hallway, and trust me I'm enjoying every bit of them. It's not my fault that I am hot and can't easily be resisted.
"Hey, Alpha Kian," I heard someone say behind me, startling me from my thoughts. I turned to see Sheila standing behind me, she looks stunning though for some strange feelings I don't fancy her. This is unlike me.
I scrunched my brow suspiciously at her, she looked so innocent like she couldn't hurt a fly though the deadly smirk on her lips didn't go unnoticed.
What was I expecting? Having her embrace me here in public, we are both working together for a reason.
"I'm here to see the king," I said. She nodded before asking, "Do you know the direction to his office?"
But before I could respond, she chipped in, "Okay, Alpha Kian, it will be my pleasure escorting you to the King's office," I stiffened at her words, staring at her with a puzzled look.
Twitching her brow when motioning for me to follow her, "Yeah, sure," I said in a quicker tone, my suspicious gaze not leaving her. Who knows what she is up to?
Nodding, she turned and started walking in whatever direction. I do know the path that leads to Daemon's office but again something feels odd about Sheila but I decided to act accordingly by keeping my cool.
She kept looking back and at the same time front and to her sides. There is this impish look on her face and before I knew it, I was being dragged into a darker lonely path behind the pillars. If you were to see us right now you might even think that we are lovers because of our closeness right now. Our noses were inches away from each other... In the movies or stories, you will notice the two couples in the act bumping up with raw emotions but right now different things are on our minds.
"Why are you here?" She demands, hurling me a dangerous glare.
"Well..." I pushed her hands off me, creating a little distance between us, "I'm here to see the king," I replied to her with a raised eyebrow.
"What for?" She asked, her voice sounding so desperate. She seems afraid of something, I just don't know.
"He invited me," I answered after a few minutes of hesitation. She nodded after giving me a long look.
"Be smart and always focused," she blurted but that only annoyed me.
"I have always been smart and focused, Sheila, we are both together for a reason so stop this whole drama as if you owe me. I'm not your puppet, lady,"
Immediately as the word left my lips, I noticed how she snapped her head at me. She hurled me a dangerous glare and I know that she felt the mockery in my tone.
Looking at me, her hardened face softened slowly replaced by a smirk smug on her lips, "Misbehave and see yourself lose every single thing... and you know what I mean by every single thing, including her," she threatened, causing me to swallow past the lump on my throat.
"Fine," I said, amidst gritted teeth, turning around I stormed out of the place heading back to Daemon's office.
Things are getting a bit tense right now, I could have been so stupid and nonchalant. Paying deaf ears and keeping a blind eye on all Rhea's invites to this pack by him.
But this time around not anymore, I don't care if they are mates but he has to respect the fact that we are both married and can even decide to have pups anytime from now.
Stopping at his office door, I told the guards that I was being invited by Daemon so as for them to permit me entrance to his office.
"The king said that nobody should enter here, except Luna Rhea," one of the guards announced. My jaw clenched in anger but I chuckled keeping my demeanor natural.
"Well, I'm Alpha Kian, from Blackwood Pack, the husband of Luna Rhea," I break every syllable with grit teeth while flashing them one of my fakest smiles.
"But the king..."
"My wife couldn't make it, so I decided to represent her," I chipped in, cutting him off. "Go tell the king that I'm here to see him,"
The guard nodded before going inside and after what seemed like forever, he came out while exchanging looks with the other guards. I don't know what they said to each other before they shifted creating space for me to enter.
I sent them a glare before walking inside, striding inside my gaze widened in shock at the scene in front of me... I don't think that I need to be told twice before I believe every single thing that Sheila told me.
This can't be possible!
