CHAPTER 72 Mate?!

  Mercy's POV

Meanwhile, I watched Luna Rhea step closer to Lila who started all this with elegance and confidence causing Lila to turn pale instantly, "And you, Lila," she pointed at her and scrunches her nose in disgust before continuing, "You will always remain below me,"

Right after making that statement, Luna Rhea stepped away from her and walked away. I watched in awe how Lila suddenly seemed taken back after the failure of her futile attempts of intimidating Luna Rhea. Clearing my throat, I flash her a mockery stare before stepping away, leaving her all alone in the empty hallway.

Being mated to Gamma Wilfred doesn't make her superior to Luna Rhea, but she will always remain below her. Luna Rhea might have just said those words but in reality, she will always remain higher than Lila and I will do everything in my power to ensure that it happens but first of all, I need to get to the Thorn Pack.

Huh, interesting, Lila, you don't know what is in for you!

Wearing a long loose outer garment, I used a very old scarf to half cover my face as I ambled through the lone hallway of the Thorn pack heading toward King Daemon's office.

I brought my hand up, using it to shade away from the stares of people walking close by. My identity needs to remain hidden if I really want the best for Luna Rhea.

Fear jammed my heart as I noticed Sheila walking up the hallway, I held onto my scarf, my heart was pounding damn fast. I just hope that she won't notice me.

My heart started pounding fast as I quickened my walking, planning to walk past her without her noticing but it seems as though luck wasn't by my side today.

She is now much closer, her gaze was fixed somewhere else not directed in my path and that only seemed to have calmed my racing heart a bit. Drawing my scarf closer to my face, I tried stepping a bit away and striding toward another direction to avoid bumping into her when suddenly, I felt someone yell from behind, "Hey, you, stop right there," making me halt on my step.

And at this moment I felt like being caught, if she finds out, believe me; this isn't going to end well. I will lose everything before I could even begin.

"Who are you?" Her icy voice pulled my mind out of my thoughts.

"Turn around and show your face," I swallowed nervously, refusing to concede her words. I clenched my clothes tight with my other hand holding the scarf hard.

"Hmm," I heard her sniff the air, "You smell wolf, definitely not who I thought it was," she blurted harshly.

Who is she expecting to see? Is it Luna Rhea? I held my breath as I noticed her started striding forward, in my direction.

"But who are you? Hiding your face behind that horrendous scarf of yours," her words sound harsh and terrifying.

I gulped hard, standing on my spot while still holding the scarf. As she drew closer, I decided to step forward. My eyes kept flickering in every damn direction for an escape.

"Don't plan on running away because I will have the guards arrest you," she threatened, her voice sending chills down my spine.

Almost closer to me, I held my breath with my eyes closed expecting the worst, she stretched out her hand ready to yank the scarf off my face but suddenly a voice came from behind.

"Sheila," I recognized that voice quite well. Is that not Alpha Kian, that brutal monster? She growled, sounding annoyed, maybe not all that pleased to see the intruder.

"Why are you here?" Her hand retreated back to her side.

With my eyes still closed, I couldn't see them but all I could feel was total silence. After what seemed like decades I heard her let out a frustrated sigh before walking away, her elbow brushing hardly against mine causing me to stagger back a bit.

I stood on my spot for a while till I'm sure that they might be gone and that's when I snapped my eyes open. I swiveled around but could not see a single soul. I let out a breath of relief before scrambling toward the other side of the hallway with a quicker force.

I collapsed against the wall there, heaving up and down in breath as I tried to calm myself down. She almost catches me if not for Alpha Kian's interruption. Fuck! I hissed out.

But what is Alpha Kian doing here and even want to discuss with Sheila? Wait... If he is here that means he is here for King Daemon but nothing's making sense because from the way that Sheila answered him, something is definitely not adding up here.

However, I was still in my thoughts when suddenly I felt a presence behind me, trailing closer from the other far end of the hallway. Fear gripped hold of me, leaning out from the wall, I tried scrambling away while I felt the person almost closer to me, and for unknown reasons I couldn't make a move.

  Is it Alpha Kian?

Or Sheila? No... This seems like a man's presence, no feminine aura here. But Alpha Kian always comes with this dark aura, I was still contemplating... and immediately I felt a strange and dizzy sensation take over me, I held my head and peered through my scarf at the figure.

My jaw dropped and my gaze immediately ran all over him. He looked like some Greek god like he had been sketched out from a book with his shoulders squared and his sharp jaw positioned well. His black hair was flowing around his shoulders and he seemed muscular just like my idle men... WHAT!!!

I hit my head before my gaze moved slowly to his unique eyes and suddenly I couldn't move or think. It feels like I am being struck down by lightning. My body trembled nervously as the word slipped out from his lips "MATE,"
