Daemon's POV
My legs move swiftly as I angrily stride toward my office, my face showing not a single inkling of my thoughts. I walked past the long corridor, quickening my steps as I headed toward my office.
Sam was behind me, one more turn and I approached the tall and huge black door at the end of the corridor. Pushing it open, I walked in and scanned the place till my gaze fell on the maggot sitting across my office chair.
"Why are you here?" My pose depicts arrogance and my aura demands submission.
I can see how his hands were vibrating in fear before he suddenly slid them into his pants pocket, acting unaffected. My face has an expressionless mask on making it hard for anyone to read.
"I am here to see you, King Daemon," he bowed his head in submission.
"Why are you here?" I demand again but this time in a harsh tone.
"You already know why I am here," he said through his teeth.
"Talk or get out!" I bark out the syllables with no trace of emotion in my voice.
"I heard that you have my wife under your custody,"
"You heard," I c***k my head at him.
"And I am here to take back my wife and mate,"
"She is not your mate!!" The word unknowingly slipped out from my lips. I clenched my fists by the side, fighting the urge to hold my beast from bouncing on him right now for laying claims on his mate.
There was a silence around us before his smirk widened, "You know that it is wrong to have another man's wife trapped in your pack and your room,"
"You're the king and I believe that you should know better," there was sarcasm in his tone.
"Watch your tone!" I warned but the maggot just shrugged, "You have my mate in there,"
"One more word and I couldn't resist slashing off your throat," I threatened. I noticed him shrink back a bit.
"I want my mate," he resumed.
I narrowed my gaze on him, taking a fierce step forward. He tried taking a stride backward but I suddenly gripped his hair and pulled him so that our bodies could meet halfway. "Don't test my patience, Alpha Kian,"
We were only inches away from each other, my eyes were penetrating his in anger. I watched him swallow the lump passed down his throat, "I want my mate,"
"She is not yours!!" My face hardened more and my hand choked him deeper. I hurled him a death stare that is enough to make him quaver but this fool continued, "You have my mate in there,"
"Don't you!!" I slammed his back against the wall, choking him. "I won't have you keep claiming what is mine," I said through my teeth.
"You're hurting me,"
"I don't care!" I snapped.
"You know you have no evidence that she is yours,"
"Fuck the evidence!" I choked him deeper.
"You know that she is still going to choose me if an opportunity presents itself,"
"You wish,"
"Nope..." He said through a clenched jaw, "I am her husband,"
I suddenly paused as his words struck my head like a wave of lighting. I can see the mischievous smirk on his lips as he looks down at me.
"Why did you stop?" His lips moved faster than I would like and my grip tightened on him. "Come on... What are you waiting for? Kill me!" He manages to yell in a breathless voice.
My face hardened more and I pushed him deeper into the wall, "You know that it won't take me anything to end you right now," I barked out, looking intensely into his eyes like they were showing something in them, something that confuses me.
I can feel air slowly vanishing from him, causing him to suddenly yell, "Let me go!"
Snapping out from my thoughts, I let him go, tossing him to the ground. He fell coughing and struggling to catch his breath.
My eyes were fixed on him almost like I was contemplating and at the same time conflicted. But those emotions were soon replaced by a cold stare sent his way.
There is something more to him, this is not just about wanting to claim his wife... he seemed to like her and that shit annoys me more.
He doesn't mind ending his life as long as he has her by his side.
"I don't ever want to see you anywhere here," I suddenly said, "Do yourself the favor and leave,"
"Fine, I will respect your word but before then I need my wife,"
I suddenly turned to stare at him expressionlessly, "Don't play a dangerous game, Kian," I growled.
He instantly crawled back at my outburst, my aura has already stretched out in the room and it is way stronger than that of a werewolf, especially when I am the king.
Lycan's aura can easily suffocate then if they remain in the place for too long, I can see how he suddenly went pale.
"Now get out,"
Glaring at me, he manages to blurt out, "Watch out... I will never rest till I get her, and trust me she will never recognize you as hers,"
My gaze widened at him but before what he said could register in my head, he had already left my office.
His word just confirmed my assumption, she was never his mate and he knows that but the question right now is why then did he do that?
