Chapter 90 Because of Luna Rhea

  Daemon's POV

"So cut off that slack and silly idea of leaving," she was still shocked and that was an opportunity to steal a kiss from her. I inched close and pecked her on the cheeks.

Looking at how stunned she looked, I stride back with my hands stuck inside my pants pocket, "Layla here will be your personal assistance,"

She followed the direction of my gaze and they stopped at a small petite-looking average girl, "Whatever you need she will be of help, I am sorry that she isn't Mercy," her gaze flew open at the last word.

"I heard about the relationship you two had but at least for now, Layla will be of help," smiling, I tugged her hair behind her before striding away.

Ethan yelled inside for the sudden loss of contact, groaning and wailing but I ignored him and proceeded to where I was going. If I spend one more second there I swear I won't mind carrying her upstairs to my room and lavishing her smooth succulent skin.

Sighing I snapped out of my unthinkable imagination as what she said replayed back to my memories, was she expecting Kian? Why so enthusiastic and wanting him when it was obvious they never had that kind of love-dovey relationship?

Or was it because they are married? That's it... Fuck their marriage!

Walking inside my office, I noticed Sam and Wilfred sitting on the couch. "Where have you been man? We have been sitting here for ages," Sam was the first to speak up.

"Why are you two here?" I scowled, moving straight to my chair.

"Hmm... it seems I interrupted something in the bedroom," he teased, earning a sharp glare from me. Surprisingly, Wilfred seems a bit weird unlike him. He was oddly quiet, not even a word was heard from him.

"What's up, Wilfred?" I called, hating the fact that his mate had hurt my mate in so many ways.

"Cool, man," he replied, giving me a smile that hardly reached his eyes. He seems like someone in deep thought and I knew so well that something is bothering him.

He didn't hear about the fallout between Rhea and his mate, so I don't think that it was what was bothering him after all he doesn't know about his mate's past. Wilfred is a good soul and having someone like Lila as a mate is messed up but at the same time I can't possibly tell him to reject his mate. Something that I shouldn't even bring myself to do.

Brushing it off, I decided to draft my mind off that, when he is calm I am sure that he was going to spill it all out.

"Why are you two here?" I snarled at Sam, who sat there looking unbothered.

"Did I interrupt something out there?"

  "SAM!!"

"Fine," he growled, his expression hardened, "I saw your visitor," he blurted.

"Who let him in?" That was the next question that slid out of my lips.

"Well, the guards let him, and when I saw him heading to your office. I decided to come inform you,"

I sighed and looked away, "He is here because of Luna Rhea, right?" Sam questioned, amassing a nod from me.

"Don't worry you already have Rhea and besides he can't even have her," he assured but I shook my head at him.

"I have her but not her heart, she didn't even want to see me and the problem is that stupid Alpha mutt that she thought is her mate,"

I let out a loud frustrated growl, if only I could get rid of him without anyone's knowledge. His existence alone is making it hard for Rhea to see and accept me as her mate and this marriage thing is like a thorn between us.

"But not to worry, I just need him to slip off a little, for him to give me a chance to end him and I wouldn't hesitate to take it and this is one of the reasons I am still keeping calm,"

"You know that mutt is a smartass, how do you intend to trap him?" Sam asked.

"If he ever tries to make a move on her, I will just end his miserable life and no one will challenge me for that after all she is my mate and that Bond is scared,"

"But no one apart from us knows that she is yours," he points at the three of us inside the room.

"That mutt knows that she is mine, and besides fuck what people think," I latched out, "The reason I haven't ended him for a while is just because of Rhea,"

  "What about her?"

"I don't want her hating me more for killing her husband," my heart clenched at the word that left my lips. "I need her heart, I don't want us to build our home in hatred," Sam nodded at me.

"I am sure that my mate will provide concrete proof for us from that pack," his voice is filled with longing and worry.

"She is smart and trust me, she has been doing a great job before you two meet,"

"I know, it is just that...

"You are scared of losing her in this whole thing," I cut him off, he sighed before slowly nodding his head. "Yeah, I am scared of her being caught,"

"She is a smart girl, bro and trust me she will be fine. I even heard about Rhea's rape from her," Their both eyes widened at me, "RAPE!!"

"Yeah, the night I couldn't sleep," I rubbed my jaw harshly. "And that's why you wanted to visit that pack the next day?" Sam suddenly blurted out as recognition filled his eyes.

"Why don't you just mark her?" Wilfred instantly spoke up out of nowhere after a few hours of staying mute.

"In as much as I am tempted to mark her and fully claim her as mine but I couldn't,"

"WHY!" They both exchanged a confused look. "Is it because of the mark on her neck?" Sam was the first person to ask again.

"The mark was not just a camouflage like we all assumed," I announced, earning an arched brow from them.

"I made a quick research and I think Kian is working with dark magic,"

"Magic in this modern era," Wilfred burst into a laugh, "That's not possible,"

"Come on, spill," Sam was eager to hear everything and I believe that he understood where I was going. And this is why I connect more with him and even though he was my beta, he is a bit smarter than Wilfred.

"The mark can only disappear from her neck, only if she recognizes her true mate,"

"But you're his mate," Wilfred points out.

"I can't sink my fang on her neck," I shook my head. This is just messed up!

"Why?" His forehead crumpled in confusion.

Sam smiled, "Because she hasn't recognized you as the true mate," I nodded at him.

  "But..."

Wilfred was suddenly interrupted by Sam, She will die if Daemon lays his mark on her neck... She can't possibly bear the both mark at the same time,"

"That's dark magic," Wilfred muttered, "And is only used by old witches years back," Sam mumbled.

"But I thought those witches were killed years back and their powers were sealed," Wilfred said thoughtfully. "So how come something like this still exists?"

"That's what you think but I believe that one of them is still roaming around alive and is working with Kian," I let out. Both of them exchanged a worried and confused look before leaning back on the couch in thought.

A Lot happening under our noses that we need to find out but before then I am not letting Rhea wander around this pack all alone without her bodyguards.
