Mercy's POV
"What do you mean?" Kian asked her, "She will have to take the medication **Sleeping portion** for her wolf before the moon comes out if not the wolf can not be tamed,"
I gasped, holding my mouth from making any silky sound. So Miss. Bela has been the witch all this while. So she knew about Luna Rhea and had been helping Kian trap it down. This is pure wickedness!
"No, I don't want it tamed,"
"Then what?" She raised a brow at him, "Just kill the goddamn wolf and live her wolfless,"
"Okay but it is risky, she might die," my heart pondered fast at their conversation.
"Do anything but don't let her die," she nodded at him, "One more thing... be fast," he turned around and walked away.
I hid behind the pillar as she turned around and scanned the place before entering the kitchen.
I slowly tiptoed close to the kitchen and squatted in a way that she couldn't see me before crawling quietly inside.
I went close to the nearest down cabinet that was left open and crawled inside, pushing it close. The cracking sound of the cabinet drew her attention and at that moment I felt like I had been caught.
She stares at the cabinet door suspiciously but when she tries to step forward, the wind hits hard on the window frames pulling her mind away from the supposed cabinet.
"Stupid wind," she went on and locked up the window and proceeded to do what she was doing. Mix and cook some liquid portions. The smell coming out from her mixture is suffocating and definitely not good.
Just the mere inhaling of the smell is doing more harm to my wolf than good than imagining drinking up the whole content. Using my scarf I untied it from my head allowing my hair to fall off at my back, I tied the scarf around my nose to avoid inhaling the smell.
I can see wolfsbane, aconitum napellus plant, and a pungent smelling silver gray Wormwood, which is an artemisia. At the other side of the counter is another set of plants that are toxic and can easily kill werewolves placed there.
This is pure wickedness! I need to find a way to stop that drink from reaching Luna Rhea. Once she was done mixing the content. I sat there thinking as I watched her start pouring it inside a container. An idea popped into my head, I slowly opened the cabinet and threw away something outside the kitchen in the hallway. Luckily the object sounded like footsteps.
She quickly covered up the stuff and stepped out to have a look. I quietly crawled out from the cabinet and hurried toward the counter.
I uncovered the stuff and looking down at it I didn't know what to do but one thing is for sure I need to be fast before she returns.
And before I knew it I started hearing a footstep showing that she is coming back. Trying to rush back to the cabinet to avoid her seeing me, I almost pushed down the mixture and a little portion poured inside her drink which was on top of the counter. Not having the time to clear up my mess, I placed the mixture back on the counter and covered it just like the way she left it.
I scrambled inside the cabinet and hid, she walked inside the kitchen and went straight to the counter. Assuming I had wasted another second she could have seen me. I was still thinking about how to stop the mixture from leaving this room when I saw her gulp down her drink.
She put the tumbler inside the sink and turned to leave with the content when she mistakenly fell on the ground, the content slipping off her hand. She held onto her neck screaming for help.
I stretched out my hand from the cabinet trying to get the content that had rolled in my direction when I noticed a tiny drop of blood on the kitchen tiles.
I lift my gaze to see Miss. Bela struggled with her life on the ground, confused for a while before recognition flashes through my mind.
The drink... The mixture poured inside it and she drank it, oh no! I opened the cabinet and walked out picking the content from the floor. Her gaze widened in shock on seeing me, "Mercy... Please help me call Alph... Kian, ahh!"
She pleads but I ignored her and went on with locking the windows and doors so that no one hears her scream.
"Please... Mercy!!!"
I went to the regenerator and pulled out a dark wine, peeling out the lemon and bitter leaf plants. I squeezed them and put them inside the wine. Shaking it before I poured it inside a separate container.
"Please..."
I walked up to her, holding her by the hair I forced down the other mixture that she had prepared to use and killed Luna Rhea's wolf down her throat. Placing my hand on her mouth, I stopped her from screaming as the content washes down her throat.
It wasn't for up to three seconds, she collapsed, her body turning pale and I knew she was gone. Holding her by the leg, I opened the down cabinet and pushed her lifeless body inside, and closed it from outside.
Picking up the harmless mixture that I made, I smile as I stare at it before walking away.
Anything for you Luna Rhea...
