Haley's POV

　　I stood at the front door of Travis' lavish mansion. My eyes studied the ornate shapes carved into the heavy wooden door in front of me, and I felt sickness fill my stomach.

　　How did it come to this? There I was, risking my life to save my best friend from a man who wanted to commit several terrible things to her, and make her life a misery. Yet, while I defended Alyssa, I fought for her to the death. She left me alone.
