CHAPTER 47 It's Not An Act

  Damien's POV

This moron was starting to get on my last nerve! The muscles in my jaw twitched with the anger I felt brewing. He and his whole pack just needed annihilating once and for all. If this was the stress and drama they were causing after a few days, I hate to think what the next year or so had in store for Red and I.

Looking at her petite hand, turning it over in my grasp carefully, not wanting to hurt her further, the beautiful ivory of her skin sullied with a bruise as black as night. Seeing the swelling forming on her delicate wrist, my expression hardened. Murderous rage blazed in my eyes.

Pulling back from Red, manoeuvring her gently to straddle my lap, my eyes slowly pursued her body, checking for any other marks or bruises, not that it mattered. I was still going to rip the fuckers head off for hurting her, I was nothing if not a man of my word, and I was done playing nice!

With the rest of her seeming OK, Ares seemed more at ease. My eyes settled on her beautiful face, a smirk playing at the corner of my lips; seeing how she bit her bottom lip nervously, her face flushed, my eyes darkened with carnal desire. She had absolutely no idea how gorgeous she was. Her beautiful porcelain skin framed by fiery red curls, the wolf's blood dried across her cheek.

She looked like she had emerged victorious from a battle! Although I wouldn't allow her near the upcoming fight that we all felt brewing! Not even with the powers she clearly kept hidden so well! Flesh was flesh as far as demons were concerned! They didn't care if she had heaven on her side! Which she apparently did! Something I wanted to discuss with her when we were alone, not in front of these fools. I wanted her safe; I had seen first-hand how easily the demons my father called upon tore people apart without care for whose side they were on. As long as someone was screaming in pain, the monsters were content.

"Ab's, can we talk?" Jason's voice cut through my thoughts, reminding me of the task at hand; Skinning a wolf. Like me I had no doubt he had questions he wanted to ask her.

"It will be hard to ask her anything when he is dead." Ares grinned maliciously.

"No", I answered the rat bluntly, narrowing my eyes at Red, who attempted to protest, running my hand up and down her back before grasping her hips and lifting her off me onto the sofa. "But you and I can." I glowered, standing beside the couch, looking over at the shit stain, my smile fading, seeing his forehead furrowed. Looking past me to Red, I watched him plead with his eyes.

"Enough with this shit", Ares growled in my head. "Rip his head off, shove it up the other mutt's arse." His anger blazed in my eyes. Taking a step forward, blocking his vision of Red, I leaned against the side of the sofa, watching her casually.

"Do you recall what I said I would do if you hurt her?" I asked, looking between the pretend Alpha and his friend, who was pulling himself up against the wall, obviously still recovering from his accident with my knife.

"For God's sake, I am not looking for a fight." He groaned, running his hand down his face, obviously exasperated by me.

"Oh God has nothing to do with this sunshine." I chuckled, narrowing my eyes dangerously, seeing him look to Red for backup.

"I just want to speak to Ab's." He mumbled, looking up at her, his eyes showing weariness of me and the situation.

"Don't call her that. It's Abigail to you!" Inflamed by his casual use of her name as if they meant something to each other. Watching his eyes flicker back and forth between the green of his hues and the fierce black of his wolf, I grinned, "Something to say, mutt?" I challenged recklessly.

"Ab's?" He repeated, his expression hardened momentarily, trying to remain headstrong.

"Enough, the pair of you are acting like children!" Red proclaimed, her voice laced with a mixture of exhaustion and irritation. "Jason can call me Ab's. I have already told him that!" She stated firmly, her eyes locked on mine, determination swimming in her emerald pools.

"And YOU will not tell me who I can and can't talk to! But if you have an issue with us talking, perhaps you should take five and wait outside. Let the grown-ups talk while you throw your temper tantrum." Hearing her sass me made Ares roar enraged at being scolded like a child in front of this piece of shit, no less. However, I liked how riled up she seemed, how her upper lip curled slightly before she glared at me ferociously, rivalling that of a lion.

"I said- Do you remember what I said I would do to you if you hurt her?" I said boldly, ignoring her with a wink, leaning down to carefully take her injured wrist in my hand, lifting it to show the twerp; I turned my attention to him again.

"I didn't do that! I wouldn't!" He declared angrily, looking at Red for support. "I wouldn't hurt her!"

"No? So, putting your filthy hands around her neck- is that a kink of yours? Because I'm not sure, you grasped the difference between terrified and turned on!" I spat cockily. Letting her hand go gently, I took a step closer to him.

"That was... A mistake," He admitted; seeing his shoulder sag, I knew he felt guilty for his lapse in judgement. Although, too little too late as far as I am concerned.

"Damn right, it was... one you will pay for... I promise you that!" I hissed, my eyes shining with crazed fury.

"Stop playing with your food and just fucking kill it already." Ares roared inside my head.

"It wasn't him", Abigail screamed, seeing me take a step closer to the fuck tard, deciding that Ares was right. Playtime was over. She was quickly between us, a hand on my chest causing Ares to purr sexily until he noticed her other hand on the pup. She had thrown herself between us, not for the last time, I imagine.

"It wasn't Jason; he didn't do it." She screamed angrily.

"It wasn't on you when I left this morning- so explain how that is possible. I warned him what would happen if he hurt you... and I keep my promises Red."

"She's right- It wasn't him", Tommy's voice interjected weakly from the corner.

"I suggest you pipe down Swiss unless you'd like a few more holes in ya side." Snapping my head towards him, I growled, rattled by his interference. Seeing him slink back against the wall, all his energy tapped.

"OH MY GOD, why are you acting like a dick!" Abigail bellowed, inflamed with an anger I had not seen from her yet.

"It's not an act," I confirmed smugly.

"I second that," Jason chipped in with a heavy sigh making my lips twitch in a smirk.

"I will not apologise for protecting you, Red; I will always protect you! If that makes me look like the bad guy, then so be it!" I huffed, exasperated by this whole damn day. "BUT I am not sorry!"

"I do not need your protection, nor did I ask for it... but if you insist on acting like Billy big bollocks and taking people on for me, can you at least get all the facts before you annihilate the whole damn planet" Seeing her face soften I sighed knowing on some level she was right.

"OK, Red... If it wasn't him... who was it?" Shaking my head, trying to calm Ares' rage, I locked eyes on both males, Ares whining loudly inside my head, still wanting a fight with this cum stain and his friend.

"And why the fuck were you even hear to start with, huh? Other than to try out new kinks with Red?"
