Tommy's POV
Standing slowly, not wanting to make a scene but preparing myself to pounce if whatever coin he was flipping in his head landed wrong, and Damien decided to retaliate. Seeing Damiens's eyes settle on the same green shade I had looked into my whole life with Jason, I relaxed.
"I am not too proud to admit that you have powers and abilities we don't!" I shared, looking between both bombs waiting to erupt in the room. "What Jason is trying to say, I think, is that we might have the strength, Damien, but it's you who has the ability to fight and sense whatever it is, right?"
Damien nodded, much calmer, but I knew he already knew where I was going with this.
"And if you didn't even know it was here last night! It's fair to say we are a little worried about this entity, its powers, plans and intentions towards the girl!" Sighing heavily, noticing Damien had nothing else to say, he just nodded!
"I will take her to town as she has asked; perhaps you two can sort her apartment out... It's hardly safe for her without a door." I noted, looking around the room, trying to hide the disgust at her living environment.
"It's not safe here at all! We could take her back to the pack house where we can keep her safe." The second the words left his lips, I knew they would cause world war three, but seeing the smirk cross Jason's face, he had assumed the same- which is why he said it!
"Over my dead body. Red stays with me! I can keep her safe!" Damien raged, his eyes swam with the fires of hell. I pitied Jason at that moment, we both realised; He would most likely never get a chance to be alone with her again.
"Clearly!" Jason spat venomously.
"Haven't we been over this? For fuck sake, the pair of you need to look at the bigger picture!" I tried to reason, desperate for this day to be over.
"She is not going to town without me! That's final. I will sort the door." Damien growled greedily. His offer didn't fool me; I knew he was only offering to fix the door so that Jason didn't have an excuse to come back to see her- alone.
"Fine, but I am coming too." Jason chimed in.
"I expected nothing less than for you to follow her like a lost pup." Damien laughed bitterly, "Maybe if you offer her a paw, she will give your belly a rub!" The disgust on Damiens's face wasn't lost on either of us.
"Enough!" I raged, the room finally fell silent again, deciding quickly that I preferred the silence to the childish bickering between the kids in the room.
"Let the pack know we are coming to town with the girl- and Damien! We need a truce, for today at least." Linking Jason, I took a second to breathe, watching his eyes gloss over, knowing he was already connecting with his father, letting him know we were coming to town and giving him a quick run down, no doubt.
I paced the room slowly, waiting for her to come back out. I had already spoken to my father when Rafe returned, wanting him to know I was fine; I hadn't gone into detail about what happened to me, not wanting to add fuel to the fire between Damiens's family and mine. I wouldn't forgive and forget what Damien had done to me today, but there were bigger fish to fry right now, and I had a feeling we would need Damien's help! Whether the pack liked it or not!
She came back out 5 minutes later wrapped in a towel, hair up on her head in a messy bun smelling of lemon and mint, the room filled quickly with the scent of both males' arousal, making me roll my eyes. She nodded to the bathroom and smiled nervously.
"I have left you some washcloths in there so you can clean up, " she announced before she disappeared into her room, her cheeks flushed pink with embarrassment.
"She's too innocent for the pair of you!" I groaned, shaking my head. "You need to sort this shit between you! And quick!" I could hear both males' low growls, but I was right, and they knew it! Walking off to get myself cleaned up, leaving them to their drama. Seeing the fish in her bath, a deep belly laugh escaped my lips; Jason was at my side in seconds, concern on his face; shaking my head, I pointed to the tub.
"There are fish in her bath!"
"You know what- that makes sense!" Jason grinned, his eyes lit up, obviously remembering something between him and the girl.
Coming out of the small bathroom with Jason, I nodded to Damien, who ignored me from where he leant up the wall by her bedroom, waiting for her to come out.
"He is never going to leave her side, is he?" Archer linked me; sadly, I had almost forgotten about him. He had been so silent. This whole situation must be challenging for him seeing them together, but he had more at stake than just a possible mate.. he needed to be savvy about how he handled things from now on, especially after his outburst. I got that!
"It's not just up to him; She has a say," I reassured him just as she emerged from her bedroom in shorts and a baggy t-shirt with some bands logo on the front; I smiled at her ignoring the atmosphere in the room.
"Ready?" I asked gently.
"As I will ever be here. It might be a... little... snug, but it's better then.." She let the sentence hang in the air nodding to my top. Grinning, I pulled my top over my head and dumped it in the trash with what looked like a week's worth of Chinese—regretting throwing it away instantly.
Tugging the top over my head, the room erupted in laughter. It barely fit over my biceps, the sleeves digging into my muscles, cutting off circulation was bad enough, but the way It sat more like a crop top over my abs made me look like a 13-year-old girl.
"You look..." She started to say politely.
"Like a twat!" Jason belly laughed, nudging me towards the door. I can't wait for your father to see you!"
Thanks." I laughed, looking back at the bin questionably as she headed to where the door used to stand; turning to face the three of us, her hand on her hips, she pouted, looking at the mess Jason had made of the door.
"You know, you have to fix that today! Right?"
"Don't worry, Princess. I already have someone on their way over to fix it." He smiled sheepishly.
"Thank you." She smiled, standing beside me as we headed down the stairs. Chatting to me casually about the pack, she ignored the building tension from the two males behind us.
"I know what you're doing." I laughed, eyeing the men behind me curiously. "Forcing them to spend time together to work out their crap? Right?" I asked with a wink.
"I don't know what you mean, Tommy!" She grinned, returning my wink. "As if I would do that!" She gasped with mock shock.
"Is it working?" I chuckled; she was adorable, and as much as it pained me to admit, she was perfect for both males. She went quiet momentarily, but I could see the glimmers of gold swirling within her emerald hues.
"Princess, unless you want to go over my knee, I suggest you stay out of my head." Archer rumbled darkly, making her jump and flush a scarlet; a little squeak slipped from her lips while the intoxicating scent of her arousal slipped from between her thighs, filling the small area around the four of us.
"Apparently not!" I laughed, hearing Damien's warning growl fill the stairwell.
