Damien's POV

　　Ares had been given free rein of my body and, with it, the opportunity to act upon his deep yearning to mate and claim my ruby jewel as his own. The animal he was, wanted to mark her desperately and fill her fertile womb with as many pups as possible! Leaving no doubt that she belonged to us!

　　When condemned to the void by whatever the fuck was lurking in the shadows of the woods, I found myself surrounded by never-ending nothingness, no familiar smells or flickers of light, just oblivion! Until I heard Ares call for me subconsciously- he needed me! And as much as it irked me to admit, I had grown used to his chatter the last few days and felt empty without him. 

　　Something in his tone screamed pain, dread and uncontrollable anger; I had thought wrongly that he wouldn't have held back if allowed to do as he liked with Red! Instead, he had respected both Red and me! I was beyond grateful and not embarrassed to say proud of him and our bond! 

　　For the first time ever, we shared one mind, body and goal: Protect Red! I found myself opening up to him and the possibility that he deserved a place in my life! His fears, hopes and desires were now aligned with mine! Sensing the anger eat him alive, threatening to swallow him whole and force him to shift! Seemingly, fearing ruining things between Red and I! 

　　"Let me tap in! Ares, I can handle this for you!" I declared truthfully! "Let me honour you as you honoured me!" Feeling his fury settle momentarily as he relinquished control, I wasted no time delivering blow after blow to the bastard's face. With each strike landing on his already battered body, I felt his skull begin to cave, bones crunching under my knuckles, the wolf's wretched blood splattering my chest; his eye exploded, spraying up my face, grinning darkly, pleased to feel Ares's satisfaction.

　　I could feel him in my mind, adrenaline fueling us both, as my fists slammed unapologetically into what used to be his nose and eye sockets—growling like a wild animal guarding his kill against others, seeing a hand touch my prey. Snapping my head around to face the lush green eyes of my angel, my eyes flared with the demonic fury I felt rippling through me until I heard her sweet voice filter through my anger. 

　　"Come back to me, Ace!" She whispered, evicting all traces of the devil's rage that had gripped me moments ago. 

　　"I told you, Red... I will always protect you! Always!" I panted, leaning back on my heels and looking at the obliterated remains of the wolf who was stupid enough to take me on. "Even against JASON'S pack," I growled, his name on my tongue feeling like acid! 

　　"What's happening here?" I asked, nodding to the wolf behind her, narrowing my eyes at the wolf, assessing it and looking for any hint of betrayal in its eyes. 

　　"Everyones went crazy..." I began to quiz the creature, cutting the sentence off seeing a flicker in the distance. Knowing instinctively that it was the same figure I had seen earlier that had sent me, ME, to a fucking void! Corruption and destruction resonating from it, contaminating everything around it!

　　"Did you see that, Ares!" I grinned, feeling its eyes on me, trying to penetrate through the protection I had put in place to safeguard Ares! His powers did not work on me or my kind! But the beast in me- it could be manipulated, and given how Abigail was thriving off the destruction around us, it had managed to taint her too.  

　　"Yes, it wreaks of the pits of hell?" He snarled. "Tread carefully; something is off." He warned, making me smirk at his newfound sense of protection.

　　"I have a score to settle, and that start's with kicking the cunts ass! Keep your eyes on it!" I answered Ares, locking my eyes with the dark wolf beside us, pulling Red into my side with a wink, not wanting to panic her. 

　　"Red, can you do me a favour, baby girl? Can you stay here for one minute!" I cooed, deciding to take a different approach from my usual firmness, remembering how well she responded to it last time. 

　　"No!" She laughed, shaking her head. "We are a team, remember!" She moaned dramatically, pecking the pout already forming on her lips and smacking her as harshly, chuckling her squeal. 

　　"I need a piss, baby girl; not sure I am ready to cross that boundary with you yet!" Tracing my hands up her hip, taking her hand in mine, I twirled her around romantically, pushing her towards the wolf's furry mane. 

　　"It's on the move." Ares barked at me, feeling him start to dance from foot to foot, jonesing to get moving and take the fucker down!

　　"She stays here; you keep her safe! Guard her with your pathetic life! You take your eyes off her for a second, and I will wear your fur as a coat! Got me?" I growled; the second Red looked at the wolf suspiciously, Ares coming forward in a warning, my eyes burned with the fiery red of my alleged alpha wolf. 

　　"She's on board!" Ares confirmed, making me grin sinisterly, shooting a wink at my girl before teleporting to where I sensed the darkness looming, stalking and watching us like some scientist watching their experiment unravel. 

　　"So you're a watcher, hmm. Get off on watching others get frisky! You kinky bastard!" I chuckled, leaning up the tree behind him, grinning seeing him turn to face me. Styled blonde hair, piercing blue eyes, tanned and insanely handsome while radiating superiority, dressed in his designer suit and loafers! Standing out in these woods like a sore thumb! If it weren't for the fact he was literally oozing evil that would rival Lucifer, he could pass as an angel!

　　"Damien!" An English accent addressed me smoothly, all class and arrogance.

　　"You are on the wrong side of the pond." I laughed, picking bone and hair out of my nails, not giving him the satisfaction of looking up at him; I knew Ares was watching him like a hawk. "I bet girls line up to suck your dick, don't they!" I chuckled, finally lifting my red eyes to meet his, making him aware that he no longer controlled Ares! I did! 

　　"Jealous?" He snorted, turning back to look at my girl, noting the way his ears lifted; he was amused at something! I followed his gaze, growling, seeing he was looking directly at Red, who seemed to be doing her best to provoke the wolf; I had left to protect her. 

　　"Of your 3 inches? No!" I laughed bitterly. "SHE is taken!" I snapped, teleporting quickly to stand before him, blocking Red from his filthy view. 

　　"I am aware!" His voice changed an octave; I had hit a nerve! 

　　"He looks at her again. I will hit his nerves!" Ares hissed furiously.

　　"Is that so, wolf?" He chuckled, looking behind me to where Red stood, an amused smile cutting his face. 

　　"Lost something?" his lips twitched into a smug smile, sending a shiver down my spine! Turning to look at Red, terror ricker-shade through me. 

　　Red was gone!

　　"Where is she?" I roared, spinning round to yank the answers from the posh bastard's throat-but he too was gone!

　　"FUCKKKKKK!" I roared, slamming my fist into the tree, enraged!
