CHAPTER 102 Battle of Wills

  Damien's POV

"Something on your mind, Red." I asked plainly as I checked her fridge for something to eat?

"I didn't think demons ate." I heard Archer mumble, making me grunt; his wolf was strong, stronger than Ares, it seemed he had given into whatever spell my father had cast and was hiding it out. Yet Archer was desperately fighting its potency and trying to make himself known. I respected that.

"THAT is your take on our conversation." I heard Jason laugh at his wolf; "You have never been this docile and un-opinionated before- ever." He chuckled, Archer as if proving Jay's point, yawned sleepily and drifted back to sleep.

With my back to the pair, I felt Red's anger ripple through the room; I knew it wasn't truly aimed at me. The spell and the new dynamics disconcerted her; she didn't know where she stood.

  What she wanted or who.

"You have nothing to say, Damien? Nothing to add to the conversation?" Red fumed, bringing me back to the here and now.

"Jason has just offered to put his penis in..." She squirmed apprehensively as I turned to stare at her, my eyes blackening on, smelling the darkness rising in her. I had yet to see this side of her, and it called to the beast in me, even if he was sleeping.

"Your ass." I finished winking at Jay wanting to reassure him, sensing the uneasy wash over him as both Red and my temper flared.

"I heard." I answered in a bored tone, wanting to see how far I could push the darkness she kept muted. Could I prompt it to come out and play, or would she keep it under lock and key the best she could?

"You heard? That is all you have to say?" She raged, pushing past Jay to square up to me; the glimmers of Red in her eyes made me smirk proudly; I wasn't the only one with a beast inside me; A gift from our father no doubt.

"What happened to 'you are mine.' 'I don't share." All bullshit?" She asked, chewing her lip, trying to control the monster I knew was ripping her apart inside, shrugging to aggravate her and poke the demonic creature in her.

"Since you don't seem to give a shit. Shall I spread my legs for the next male who crosses my path." She hissed at me angrily, her arms flying around angrily; her eyes, however, seemed to focus on my naked form and the reaction she was having on my cock.

Her face was almost as red as her hair; I noted as I leaned back against the kitchen counter, my eyes shifting briefly to Jay, who stood with his arms across his chest, unable to take his eyes off Abigail as she prodded me in the chest harshly.

"I should just fuck the next guy I see." She yelled in my face; Jay cut the tension, making me grin and suggestively raise an eyebrow at Red.

"That would be me. So yes, please." He grinned sarcastically, my eyes narrowing as the scene unfolded in her mind, those cheeks flushed, just like I liked.

"NOT. NOW." She fumed, spinning around to look at Jay. "I meant a randomer. Maybe someone I meet today. A NICE wolf. Polite and FUCKING NORMAL." She screamed excessively, clearly trying to think on her feet after realising she knew no one in town.

"Good luck Princess, any of my pack so much as look at you flirtatiously and I will burn their eyes out, then give them to D here to kill...slowly.." Jay snapped; although my eyes remained locked on Abigail, I knew Jay could see I had approved his comment and my pet name.

"Challenge accepted." She spat at Jay angrily; her eyes flared with outrage. Enough with her tantrum. She needed my reassurance; I understood that as much as I wanted to provoke the nightmare within her, which she kept caged, I knew if I didn't give her what she needed now, she would do something reckless. And I couldn't have that.

"I meant every word." I snarled, cutting our pissing match off; I gripped her fingers tightly, pulled her up against my chest, and with a growl, I lowered my face closer to hers. My other hand slipped around her waist, squeezing her hip roughly like I knew she needed right now.

"I don't share." Something glowed in my eyes, the same demonic presence Jay had seen in me a few days ago, waking Archer totally and to my surprise, he was ready to safeguard my girl, even against me. I could feel his primal need to protect her- even if it cost him everything.

"But..." I continued knowing Abigail was waiting. "If you would like to test my commitment to you, go for it, Red. But know you will be signing some stranger's death sentence- be warned." I cautioned, my lips hovering over hers.

"Bullshit." She spat, yanking from my hold, but I could feel the anger simmering down inside, as was the evil I knew lived within her. Evil she monitored closely.

I sensed Jay pushing off the wall feeling the change in us. I knew he had taken a step closer, ready to pounce if needed. But Red was safe with me.

This was us. Raw, animalistic and very much messy.

"What about Jason?" She asked quietly, looking over at me nervously.

"Do you really want me to answer that." I asked; after a moment, she shook her head, leaning up on her tiptoes; she closed the gap between us, pressing her lips to mine.

  "Sorry," She breathed.

"You are forgiven, but...do not test me again, Red. Stranger, Friend or Jason... I will end them and everyone they ever loved, wipe their bloodline from this planet, and do it with a smile." I whispered into the depths of her mind, her eyes locked on mine as she swallowed the retort I knew was playing on the tip of her tongue.

"Understood?" I asked aloud; she nodded, a silent understanding passing between us.

One Jason was not privy to for now.

Twirling her around, I spun her across the kitchen floor to Jay, who grabbed her hand as I let go and tucked her into his side; her sweet giggles made my heart sore. Jay looked over at me, a promise swimming in his eyes, but I ignored it and instead, I nodded to him, pushing inside his head again.

"Don't make me regret trusting you. Keep her safe." I warned

"Gotta ya." He said out loud, Red turned to look at me, wanting to be part of whatever we were discussing, but my final message was for Jason's ears only.

"I am serious... Anything happens to her... I will destroy you and your pack, despite whatever the fuck is happening here. I will make a gift of your father's head to the neighbouring packs; your pretty mother can spend the rest of her days as my father's fuck toy, and I will drop your precious sister in that part of the world where pretty little girls are passed around until they broken and useless... only then will I skin you."

He carried on out the door without missing a step, but I could feel the tickle of fear creeping up his spine.

  Good.

Because I meant every fucking word. This spell might make me feel all fuzzy and shit at the thought of him but Red... she was my everything.

My lover. My mate. And my sister.
