CHAPTER 115 Seeing Red

  Jason's POV

Pacing back and forth outside the office door, I sighed with irritation. Now and then, my eyes would meet my fathers; he watched me uneasily; snarling at him, I would turn and walk in the opposite direction.

"Archer, can you sense her?" I asked; Archer answered in the form of a disappointed growl.

"Son! I need you to calm down."

"Yeah, I need you to fuck off!" I roared, spinning my eyes tore into his enraged. "She is NOT a threat!" I hissed, pointing to the office door furiously. Shaking my head, livid at how they were preserving her.

"We don't know that. Fuck we don't know anything about her!"

"We have only known her a few damn days! It's hardly enough time to get a life story- is it?" I growled. My father winced, and I knew I was raising my voice; not wanting to alert Abigail to the situation, I lowered my voice and took a deep breath.

"She healed Tommy; why would she have done that if she was evil!" I asked, thinking back to yesterday and how scared I was at the thought of losing my best friend! Today, however, I wanted nothing more than him to be gone!

So much has changed in the last 24 hours.

"To lure you into a false sense of security and gain your trust only to worm her way into our lives." He stared calmly, seeing red. I picked up the vase from the mantel. It was the closest thing I could grab that I knew would cause enough damage; lifting it, I aimed at my father, about to lunge it at his thick skull when I froze. Abigail's cry filtered through the room.

Dropping the vase and letting it shatter, I rushed to the door barging through it unapologetically, ready to rip whatever the fuck had hurt her apart. My father was on my heels; concern warped his features too.

Three pairs of eyes looked at me in confusion; My mother sat in my father's seat, Abigail opposite it, her hand around her throat as she looked between Marcus, who had stepped beside her looking just as confused and shocked by the sound that left her lips as we all did!

"Abigail." I moaned her name out tenderly, moving to stand beside her. "What happened?" I demanded, looking between her face and Marcus', noting how beautiful she was even when confused.

"I didn't fucking ask you!" I raged, my eyes letting him know I would deal with him after I had checked my girl was ok.

"Nothing!" Marcus replied, holding his hands up in surrender. I could see the glimpse of his wolf behind his eyes and knew he was ready to jump in if needed, but for now, he was keeping his distance, not wanting to aggravate the situation. "I made her jump, that is all." Narrowing my eyes on him, I wanted to believe him, but I had this niggly feeling in the back of my head telling me there was more to this. Women don't scream for no reason!

"I.. didn't know he was in here!" Abigail admitted sheepishly, "I thought it was just your mother and me; when he stepped forward, I panicked- that was all!." She admitted sheepishly; I could see the embarrassment washing over her face.

"It was more than panic... That was real fear!" I questioned, looking between my mother and the pack's Beta suspiciously. "Why are you covering for them? They don't even trust you!" I asked, my anger flaring again.

"I am not!" She huffed; it was her turn to have anger flare in her wild eyes. I had thrown her off-kilter and insulted her, but I didn't care If it got me to the truth so I could protect her! I wanted to push the subject because I might not be able to read her mind as she could mine, but my gut told me she was hiding something from me! And that would not do!

"YOU try spending your whole damn life on the run and in hiding with a paranoid Mother who fears her own shadow! I challenge you not to get a little jumpy occasionally!" She spat, sitting back in the chair and crossing her arms; the blush that crossed her cheeks made me feel instant guilt. Tracing my fingers over her embarrassment, my eyes catching my mother's stern glare told me I had crossed a line, sighing I apologised.

"Sorry, Princess!" I whispered, smiling, seeing Abigail nuzzle her cheek into my touch as she let out the breath I hadn't realised she was holding. Archer calmed instantly, feeling her welcome his tender caress.

Everyone else seemed to let out a bated breath. 'Was our mood genuinely putting everyone on edge?' I pondered but pushed the thought down; I would digest that later.

"Come on, son." My father chuckled, winking at my mother, who nodded her reassurance that all was well. Shrugging his hand off, Archer appeared through my eyes to get a better look at Abigail, purring contently, seeing her smile at him.

"Not leaving!" He grumbled, running his thumb over the soft flesh of her cheek. Maxwell's groan filled the room seconds before he yanked my elbow, trying to pull me from the room. Without a second thought, Archer seized all control, lifting Maxwell by his throat and smashing him into one of the computer monitors behind him.

The monitor shattered as I pushed my father further into it. The sound of my mother screaming mixed with the sound of glass hitting the wooden floor filled the room; unfazed, Archer locked his deadly eyes on my father and his Alpha.

"SHE STAYS WITH ME!" He roared, squeezing his Alphas throat, constricting the air from his lungs. Archer pushed further forward, my fingernails elongated in sharp claws, piercing throw flesh and into my father's throat,

"With a little pressure, I can and will rip out your carotid artery and gift it to my mother if you try to separate us again." Archer sneered, adding pressure to prove his point.

"SHE. IS. MINE," We growled viciously, using an Alpha aurora I didn't know I had; I forced my father- the pack's Alpha- to submit to me. Rage, his wolf whimpered under the strain of my father's refusal until he eventually bore his neck and submitted to us.

"She stays with me!" My father nodded, and the colour fled from his face; my mother's scream followed the sound of her chair falling back; either she was moving to help her mate, or Marcus had swooped in and tried to protect his Luna.

  From me! Her son!
