CHAPTER 9 I Have a Single Request

  Ares POV

"I'm pleased that you enjoyed the wine I recommended. Blaire mentioned your preference for that wine, so I made sure it was served exclusively to you if ever you visited this place, and it did indeed happen." I began with a smile that stretched from ear to ear.

"Well, I appreciate that, Ares," He said, taking a deep breath.

"I want to be direct with you," he stated. "I am grateful that our partnership had a significant effect on both packs, and you have gained a reputation as the strongest young Alpha! You are now a danger to all Alphas." He chuckles and gives me a small round of applause.

I couldn't help but smirk. "Everyone is a threat to me because my father holds the same position as I do. They are fully aware of my upcoming achievement." I blurted it out without a second thought.

He nibbled on his lips. "Sure thing,"

"It's common knowledge that you're the one destined to preserve the fortune your predecessors toiled to build."

"I outperformed the previous Alphas," I stated confidently and with determination.

I can vividly see the surprise on his face, but he's just smiling nonetheless.

"That's the truth, Ares. It's common knowledge that the pack has been thriving since your father passed away."

"The individuals who wished for my father's demise must be feeling unfortunate, as he was succeeded by someone even more distinguished." I nibbled on my lower lip while sipping a glass of wine.

"Alright, that's sufficient for the time being," he stated. "I'm here to discuss your relationship with my daughter, Blaire." His words made me gaze at him intently.

  "Yeah?"

"Are you content and pleased with her?"

When I see him, I struggle to find satisfaction and happiness since returning to reclaim my position as Alpha. The only time I felt truly happy was when I was with Dana.

It took me a moment to smile and agree, "Of course, Hernando."

He gave a confirming nod. "You don't have to think about the answer, Ares- "

"I value your daughter," I told him. "That's it. I would never cause her any harm. She filled me with contentment and joy. I truly believe I wouldn't be the person I am today without your daughter, sir." I spoke with a respectful and polite tone.

"Is that true?" he asked with a sigh. "I just want to confirm because I heard that you argued with my daughter after your ex omega embarrassed you," he added. Every time he mentions that topic, I can feel the anger surging through me.

My face shows no emotion. Without uttering a word or revealing any emotion, my heart races and my thoughts spiral: Where could Dana be at this moment? What's her deal? Is she alright? Is she okay? Has she found the partner she truly desired?

"There will be a disagreement, sir," I responded. "It occurred because I didn't intervene when the omega rejected me. I allowed her to do so for my peace of mind. It's all irrelevant now. I am already married and content with Blaire." I included some heartfelt words.

His smile always brings me a sense of contentment.

  He trusts me.

He expressed his wish for her well-being. "You're doing great with the leadership. This pack is the most powerful, and I don't want my daughter to think that you only married her for political reasons." He mentioned.

"Don't fret about that," I murmured.

"I have a single request," he stated.

  "What?"

"I desire to have a grandchild."

  Dana POV

I listened to Bathel's words and decided to stick with his group, realizing I had nowhere else to go. I am confident that I can thrive in this location. Bathel is wonderful, and I feel at ease with him.

Yet, those past events are still lingering in my mind. It has been weeks since those events occurred. Weeks passed since I acknowledged Ares' rejection, which likely broke his heart too.

At this moment, I made my way to the training ground. I observed Anna's impressive teaching skills as she instructed the young girls in combat, and I found myself closely studying and observing their interactions.

Anna is a kind woman, and she is Bathel's sister. Everyone in this place is friendly and welcoming, but Anna stands out as the best for me. She exudes a mix of warmth and aloofness. She has mastered the art of maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

"It appears that everyone has gained a wealth of knowledge today," Anna said with a chilly tone while adjusting her hair with her hand.

The omegas nodded enthusiastically with a smile.

"I'm pleased that you've all absorbed the lessons I've taught and are ready to tackle the new challenges life throws your way." She whispered, and a smile spread across everyone's face.

"Alright, you are free to return to your activities now. Never forget the rules." After making an announcement, everyone expressed their gratitude and then departed.

She turned towards me, her face beaming with a smile.

"How do you like it here, Dana?" She inquired with a hint of worry in her voice and expression.

I nodded enthusiastically. "Sure thing!" I exclaimed with joy. "I haven't been here for long, but I already feel safe and this place is starting to feel like home," I muttered, glancing around as she couldn't help but smirk.

"That's great news, Dana," she murmured.

"How do you get along with my brother?" she inquired, looking puzzled.

I gulped, "Well, with Alpha Bathel, I am fine with him, and he's not that speaking to me this week..." I hesitated. "I'm confident he will communicate with me further. We were familiar with each other." I added with a smirk.

She gave a firm nod. "Do you like it?" she inquired, leaving me puzzled about her intentions.

I grinned. "I enjoy everything about this place... I appreciate the way you train people." I replied, and a smile lit up her eyes.

"Would you like to be trained, Dana?" she inquired.
