Dana POV
"Are you sure that- "
"I'm sure, Dana," he interrupts, his tone leaving no room for doubt. We're alone in his chamber, the weight of the moment hanging heavy in the air.
I gulp nervously, my mind racing with thoughts and doubts. "I don't want Anna to know about this because she wouldn't approve of me following through with what the letter said..." I stumble over my words, feeling foolish and uncertain.
He gently grips my chin, his touch both reassuring and commanding. "Don't worry about it," he whispers, his voice a soothing balm to my frazzled nerves. "I'll handle it for you. I need to ensure that no one enters this pack other than its members," he assures me.
I close my eyes, the warmth of his hand against my skin comforting me in ways I hadn't expected. Despite the uncertainty of the situation, I find solace in his presence, trusting him to protect me from whatever may come.
"What if someone in this pack hates me?" I turn to face him, seeking reassurance in his eyes. Finally, he reaches out to touch the side of my face, his touch grounding me in the moment.
"Then they shall face me," he whispers, his voice firm with determination.
I can't help but tease him, a hint of flirtation creeping into my tone. "Who am I to receive protection from the Alpha himself?" I jest, a playful smile tugging at my lips.
"I hate it when people dare to hurt you," he admits, his expression softening with sincerity. "No one has the right to hurt you, and I want to guarantee that, Dana," he adds, his voice gentle yet resolute. In his words, I find a sense of security and belonging, knowing that he'll always stand by my side, ready to defend me against any threat.
I turn my back to him, the weight of my thoughts pressing heavily on my shoulders.
"I don't even feel comfortable anymore. I know people are judging me for no reason, just because they think something is off with me- "
"I think we can find a solution," he interrupts, his voice breaking through the haze of my thoughts. I gulp nervously as I turn to face him, bracing myself for whatever he's about to suggest.
"What kind of solution is that?" I question, my confusion evident in my voice as I wait for his explanation.
"Be my mate. Be my Luna, who will lead the pack alongside me, and no one shall be able to harm you without facing consequences," he proposes, his words sending a surge of emotions coursing through me. My heart races, and I find myself stunned as I gaze at him.
"What?" I utter, at a loss for words as I try to process his unexpected proposal.
"I want to marry you so I can protect you better," he continues, his voice filled with sincerity. "But you have plenty of time to think about it. You don't need to pressure yourself. I want you to know me better than anyone else. I want you to be yourself," he adds, stepping closer to me. With a gentle touch, he tucks a stray strand of hair behind my ear, his proximity stirring something deep within me.
"You look beautiful even amid shock," he remarks, his smile warm as he withdraws his hand from me.
"I don't know what to say," I admit, my voice tinged with uncertainty.
"I'm just an omega who's not capable of becoming your Luna," I continue, my words heavy with self-doubt. "You know that you're better off marrying someone who has the same amount of power as you," I tell him, the weight of my insecurities weighing heavily on me.
Because deep down, I know how much I yearn to be with Bathel. I don't want to settle for just being someone's girlfriend. I crave a deeper connection, to be bonded as mates destined to be together.
"I could never enter into a relationship with someone unless I'm certain about my feelings," he whispers, his lips brushing against my earlobe, sending shivers down my spine as I close my eyes in response.
He meets my gaze once more. "I want to take things slow, Dana. I want us to date and truly get to know each other. And when the time is right, I want you to be my mate, my Luna," he confesses earnestly. "I can't stop thinking about you when you're not with me," he adds, his sincerity evident in every word.
I place my hand on his shoulder, meeting his gaze with unwavering determination. "You're not the only one who feels that way," I assure him. "Bathel, I want you, and only you," I affirm, my heart swelling with newfound certainty.
"So, you're sure about me?" he asks, a hint of uncertainty coloring his features as a blush spreads across his cheeks.
"Having you confess your feelings toward me feels surreal, Bathel," I admit, my voice soft with emotion. "I've been hurt and betrayed in the past, but deep down, I know that I want my second and final love to be with you," I confess, reaching out to touch his warm cheeks, relishing the contact between our skin.
He kisses my palm tenderly, his actions filled with warmth and affection. "My plans are ruined for tonight. Perhaps we can have our date tomorrow, and I'll need to have a brief meeting with my beta about some pack matters," he informs me, his willingness to keep me updated bringing a smile to my lips.
I nod in agreement. "Sounds good," I reply, feeling a sense of contentment settle over me as we make plans for the future together.
"So, I'll be heading back to my room now," I inform him, reluctantly preparing to leave his presence.
