CHAPTER 63 The Chaos

  Dana POV

As the news of my impending role as the Sun Flower Pack's Luna spreads throughout the pack, the atmosphere is electrified with a mixture of shock and jubilation. Bathel's announcement at his birthday celebration marks a turning point in my life, one that fills me with a sense of pride and responsibility.

Entering the training room, I am greeted by a wave of respectful nods and greetings from my packmates, their acknowledgment of my new status as both humbling and empowering. Despite the uncertainty that accompanies this newfound role, I am bolstered by their support and confidence in my abilities.

As I take my place among them, I am filled with a renewed sense of purpose, eager to embrace the challenges and responsibilities that lie ahead. With each passing moment, I am reminded of the strength and unity that binds us together as a pack, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as a leader among them.

With determination in my heart and a newfound sense of confidence, I embrace my role as the Sun Flower Pack's future Luna, ready to face whatever trials may come our way with courage and resilience.

"Hey..." Divine approaches me with a tentative smile.

Returning her greeting with a polite nod, I maintain my calm demeanor. "Do you need some validation again?" I inquired casually, my tone carrying a hint of detachment as I deflected her attention-seeking behavior.

Though I acknowledge her presence, I refrain from engaging too deeply, choosing instead to maintain a sense of neutrality in my interactions. Despite the shift in my status within the pack, I remain steadfast in my commitment to stay true to myself and not allow external pressures to sway my demeanor.

  It's not yet official, anyway.

"You have no idea that everyone is looking at you right now," Divine remarks, a hint of amusement in her voice as she speaks softly. "You could have told me about it so I didn't have to act like the Alpha has to find its mate," she adds, feigning complaint as she laughs.

I smirk in response, turning to face her as I continue with my exercises. "Well, why would I feel the need to do that?" I ask, my tone casual as I maintain my focus on the task at hand. Despite the attention directed towards me, I remain unperturbed and confident in my ability to handle any situation that arises with ease.

"You don't get it," Divine says, her tone tinged with a hint of frustration. "I thought you still had feelings for Ares. You hid your relationship with Bathel for I don't know how long, but you've been in this place ever since you were hurting because of your feelings for Ares..."

Her words hang in the air, lingering with a weight that I find difficult to ignore. The accusation that I might be acting out of revenge causes me to pause, my disappointment evident in the furrow of my brow.

"I'm not doing this for revenge," I interject, my voice firm as I meet Divine's gaze. "I've moved on from Ares, and my relationship with Bathel is about more than just past grievances. It's about finding happiness and moving forward."

Despite my efforts to assert myself, I can't shake the lingering doubt that her words have planted in my mind.

"Why do you keep saying that? I know to myself that I love Bathel-" I begin to protest, but my words are abruptly cut off by Divine's interruption.

"How long have you been pregnant?" she demands, her tone sharp and insistent.

I gulp, feeling a surge of anxiety coursing through me as I grapple with the weight of her question. "Three weeks," I respond, the words tumbling out before I can even consider the consequences of revealing such intimate information.

"Oh God," Divine snickers, her amusement evident in her tone. "That was the time you were always avoiding the question about your feelings for Ares," she adds, a knowing glint in her eyes.

My heart quickens its pace, a surge of anxiety washing over me at the reminder of past conversations I'd rather forget. I struggle to maintain my composure, willing myself to remain calm in the face of Divine's probing.

"I'm sorry, Divine," I mumble, my words tinged with a hint of defensiveness. "I know you're just confused, and you want things to be better, but I've moved on from... Ares. What I'm doing now is about turning the tables for them, especially for Blaire. It's not about my love for him anymore."

"I'm sorry," I whisper as I walk past Divine, leaving her behind in the training room.

Making my way to the kitchen to fetch some water, I'm taken aback to find a servant already there, awaiting my arrival.

She offers me a warm smile. "Dana? Or shall I address you as Luna?" she inquires, her voice gentle and respectful.

A chuckle escapes my lips, a fleeting moment of levity amidst the weight of my impending responsibilities. "Well, I am not yet the official Luna, so you can call me Dana for now," I reply with a smile, my words tinged with a sense of anticipation for the future.

Mariel's smirk is both knowing and playful as she responds, her smile radiant in the dim light of the kitchen. "Dana. I am Mariel," she introduces herself, her voice as gentle as a whisper on the breeze.

"Mariel, what are you doing here?" I inquire politely, my gaze drifting to the table as I struggle to maintain my composure.

As Mariel gestures towards the table, my eyes alight upon a plate of freshly baked cookies and a steaming cup of tea. The aroma of warm spices and sweet indulgence fills the air, a tantalizing invitation to indulge in a moment of respite amidst the chaos of the day.

Her words are hesitant, tinged with a sincerity that catches me off guard. "I was wishing to give you this...?" she murmurs.
