Ares POV
"I am glad you're back, I've been waiting for you-" Blaire's voice cut through the air as she moved towards me, her expression one of anticipation.
I pushed her aside with a force fueled by anger, my emotions bubbling to the surface like molten lava. "What have you done?" I demanded, my voice dripping with accusation as I seized her hand in a vice-like grip.
Confusion clouded her features, her eyes widening in surprise. "What the hell are you talking about?" she protested, her tone laced with incredulity. "I didn't do anything to her, and why would you care if something happened to her-"
"You don't need to deny it anymore!" I interjected, my anger boiling over as I shoved her against the wall. She let out a groan of pain as her back collided with the unforgiving surface.
"What's going on with you?" she inquired, her perplexity evident in the furrow of her brow and the uncertainty etched in her gaze.
"Do you want to know what's bothering me!? It's you!" I erupted, my words reverberating within the confines of the room as I released the pent-up frustration and anger that had been simmering inside me.
"It's your demeanor that's driving me to this point... I'm at a loss with you, Blaire," I continued, the intensity in my voice matching the storm of emotions swirling within me. "Your craziness is driving me crazy, and it's becoming increasingly challenging to connect with you!" Each syllable felt like a weighted blow, piercing the air with searing precision.
I watched as my words landed, the pain flickering in her eyes revealing the impact of my harsh truth. "You think I'm to blame for what happened with Dana?" she murmured, her voice quivering with emotion as she nervously ran her fingers through her hair, a gesture betraying her inner turmoil.
"I discovered that you orchestrated her abduction and ordered a thug to inflict torment upon her..." I murmured, the accusation heavy on my tongue, its weight pressing down on me like a suffocating burden. "Do you even have any idea what she went through?!" I demanded, my voice escalating with each word until it reverberated through the room like a thunderous roar.
Her nostrils flared and her eyes widened in disbelief. "Why are you acting like this?" she shot back, her voice tinged with anger, struggling to comprehend my sudden shift in behavior.
"Because..." I faltered, grappling for the right words to articulate the whirlwind of emotions churning within me.
"Out with it!" she demanded, her tone commanding and insistent. "This isn't characteristic of you. Why the sudden empathy for her? You embraced me just last night, and now-"
"Because I never stopped loving her," I confessed, the admission wrenching from deep within me like a painful revelation.
Tears glistened in Blaire's eyes, her fists clenched tightly at her sides as she struggled to process the depth of my confession.
"I love her with every fiber of my being," I continued, my voice trembling with the weight of my emotions, my lips moistened nervously as I ran a shaky hand through my hair, the gesture a manifestation of my inner turmoil.
"I spent so long trying to convince myself that my feelings for her weren't real, all in a futile attempt to shield her from the darkness of your obsession, Blaire," I confessed, each word dripping with remorse and self-recrimination. "I manipulated your emotions to my advantage. I failed to fight for our relationship, opting instead to marry you as a means of diverting your attention from your unhealthy fixation, and for that, I am filled with shame." The heavy burden of guilt hung palpably in the air, weighing me down with its unbearable heaviness as I laid bare the ugly truth of my actions.
Blaire stared at me, her jaw trembling with disbelief. "W-What...?" she managed to stammer, her voice barely audible above the tumult of emotions swirling within her.
"I don't feel any affection for you," I declared firmly, my voice resonating with unwavering conviction. "And I never will," I concluded, my words carrying the weight of finality as they echoed throughout the room, sealing our fates with their undeniable truth.
"I only engaged in physical intimacy with you because I was overwhelmed by the news of the woman I love being pregnant by another man, igniting jealousy within me," I tried to explain before her slap cut me off mid-sentence.
"How dare you-" she started, aiming for another slap, but I caught her hand, pinning her against the wall.
"Let me go!" she shrieked.
"No," I held firm.
"Why can't you just let her go?" I demanded, my anger boiling inside me.
Her nostrils flared in anger. "You called out her name in your sleep!" she accused, shoving me once more.
"You embraced me, mistaking me for her. You were intimate with me, thinking I was her. You sleep beside me, yet your dreams are filled with her!" she exclaimed. "The only way to triumph over her is to eliminate her. I can't bear to see her succeed in winning your affection when she's not even here!"
"What is it about that woman that captivates you so much, leaving me in the shadows?" Blaire's voice reverberated with rage, her eyes ablaze with fury.
"I cannot fully articulate it, but my feelings for her are undeniable, and they eclipse any emotions I have for you," I responded, my tone unwavering. "I refuse to entertain the toxic jealousy you harbor, Blaire. It's inconceivable that you would even believe I'd entertain such twisted sentiments," I added firmly, tightening my grip on her hand.
"Now, I cannot even bear to witness your presence. You will find yourself incarcerated, just like the rogue who inflicted harm upon Dana," I declared, resolved in my decision.
"What do you mean by that...?" she murmured.
"You will face consequences for your actions," I reiterated.
"You can't do that to your Luna-"
"I never regarded you as my Luna in my heart," I stated bluntly.
