Dana
Holy shit.
I am aware that it is not ideal for him to witness me in the presence of Bathel, as it could potentially lead to another conflict.
"Dana..." He spoke softly, barely audible. All of his attention is focused solely on me at this moment.
I gazed upon Bathel. "Please, stop doing this-"
"Are you bringing Dana along with you because you intend to cause her pain once more!?" Bathel sneered as he sprinted towards his opponent, swiftly encircling his neck with his arm.
I hurriedly trailed behind him and grasped his hand, "Wait, Bathel-"
"Please, Dana, stop. And let me do this!" Bathel forcefully pushed me aside, treating me as if I were nothing more than an inanimate object.
Ares remained silent, despite the tumultuous history between them. His eyes suddenly changed color, and Bathel let out a haunting howl.
"You don't have to do this, buddy," Ares grinned widely, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes. He's still under the influence.
"Ares," I murmured, reprimanding him. I was surprised when he paid attention to me and wiped the smile off his face.
I can sense the pulsation of my heart, and the trepidation of my wolf-like instincts as they confront one another, poised for conflict.
Bathel pulled him in closer, "You're not beneficial to her existence-"
"Cut it out, Bathel," I exclaimed, feeling fed up with my icy demeanor.
Ares didn't even touch him at this moment and I'm not surprised by that, but I'm still angry.
"I can tell you have a plan," Bathel's eyes burned with intensity as he tightened his grip on Ares. Despite this, Ares managed to sneak a glance in my direction, causing Bathel to forcefully turn his face towards him.
"I won't rest until I capture that Luna of yours. You can count on it." The intensity of my emotions overwhelms me when I recall Bathel's words.
He lacks any concern.
I grasp Bathel's hand firmly, causing him to turn his gaze towards me and release his grip on Ares.
I observe him with a neutral expression. "Go." I placed an order. "Leave now while I still have control over the situation. I am confident we can have a thorough discussion about this-"
"I simply cannot-"
"I'm not someone who needs to be looked after, Bathel." I interrupted him with a neutral expression, causing him to bite the side of his cheeks in frustration. He seemed eager to say more, but ultimately he nodded his head in agreement.
He nibbled on his lower lip. "Dana- " he called out.
I turned to face him with intense focus. "Please," I implored him with my soft-spoken voice. "Could you please do it for me?" I can't express how much I wish he would just leave this instant. Those words are too difficult for me to utter.
"Are you seriously planning to stay in this location?" He asked, his eyes filled with concern. "I am aware of your immense power, Dana. You don't need anyone, but I can't help but feel concerned, knowing..." His words trail off, unable to find their way to completion.
I inhaled deeply, feeling the weight of my hand against my chest. "I don't want to elaborate any further..." I whispered, his jaw clenched as he reluctantly nodded once more, his gaze fixed on the ground.
"I won't rest until I achieve justice, Dana," he murmured. I can barely stand to lay my eyes on him at this moment. I ran my fingers through my hair and simply shook my head.
His expression filled with disappointment, he swiftly shifted into his sleek black wolf form and swiftly darted away from me, disregarding my presence entirely.
I let out a deep breath, perplexed by his behavior. Despite his previous inaction when the council attempted to separate us, he is now relentlessly pursuing me upon discovering my connection with Ares. However, it seems evident that his level of concern has diminished, especially because he has entered into matrimony with another individual. And it's just baffling, but I don't experience any emotions. All I experienced was a surge of anger, and I found solace in the fact that he chose to leave rather than engage in pointless conversation.
I shifted my gaze towards Ares. He was nowhere to be found. He departed. He departed without uttering a single word. I thought he was merely standing there, attempting to exude an air of arrogance in front of Bathel, but my assumption was proven wrong.
"What's the matter with him?" Xia asked, I can sense the rhythm of my heartbeat, even though I'm uncertain about the situation.
And I replied, "I'm not sure about him, so let's just leave him alone. Perhaps I'll have a conversation with him later." I whispered and playfully rolled my eyes.
I decided to see how Ares was doing. I scoured the area, but he remained elusive. I attempted to visit the bar, thinking it would be his initial destination, but to my disappointment, he was nowhere to be found.
After that, I decided to take a look inside his chamber, and to my surprise, I found him right there. In the most ordinary location, his chamber, but it hadn't even crossed my mind. I always imagined he would be lazing about with the air of an entitled young man.
He sat on the couch, eyes closed, but quickly opened them as I approached, as if he sensed my presence. I gaze at him, my mind filled with bewilderment, unsure of how to articulate my thoughts in the wake of recent events.
"Dana..." He spoke softly, his voice filled with a deep yearning. I had so much to say about what happened and how I wanted to confront him, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
"Rest assured, Blaire's situation remains a secret, known only to a select few. I understand your intentions regarding her, and I am concerned about the potential consequences if her father were to retaliate against you..." He rises and approaches me, leaving me utterly speechless.
"You have the option to end her life, and I will take responsibility for her demise, ensuring that the blame falls on me rather than you, Dana." He clenched his teeth and pressed his lips together, leaving marks on the sides of his cheeks. He longed to caress the softness of my cheeks, but he reluctantly withdrew his hands.
"I apologize for my behavior. I find myself constantly pursuing you, and it seems that this dynamic has become detrimental to my well-being." He let out a deep breath. "I bear the weight of my mistakes, fully aware that their irreversible consequences will forever remain." He included.
"I just wish you hadn't reminded me so harshly that your heart belongs to him instead of me... It's incredible how my mind keeps revisiting the moments we shared, even though I've made an effort to move on. I attempted to forget you, especially when I started dating Blaire, but it proved to be a futile endeavor."
