CHAPTER 108 You'll Have Your Forgiveness

  Dana

His teeth sank into the tender flesh of my cheeks, a visceral reminder of his presence. "Do you honestly believe it's that simple?" His voice quivered, laden with emotion, his gaze piercing mine.

"How could I possibly?" I retorted, inhaling sharply. "I've blanked on every moment between us, lost in the wreckage of my past." My words hung heavy in the air as he drew nearer still.

"I need you to recall every beautiful moment we shared," he pleaded, his touch gentle yet insistent, holding my hand in a way that rooted me to the spot, a sensation I silently berated myself for allowing.

I met his gaze squarely. "You can't expect me to comply," I asserted, my voice firm. "I don't allow just anyone to breach my boundaries." With deliberate force, I pushed him away, resisting the pull of memories that we shared.

"Are you telling me there's no hope for us?" His voice is low and raspy-his eyes pleading for a possibility, tracking my every movement, desperate for a response.

"You can't stand before me and demand a second chance," I replied firmly, my gaze unwavering.

"I'm not seeking a confirmation," he countered, his words rushed, eyes searching mine for any sign of resolution.

As I met his gaze, the answer lay clear in my mind, yet I knew it would fall on deaf ears. But at this time, I found myself at a loss for words, torn between what I felt and what I knew needed to be said.

His fingertips brushed against my skin once more. "Dana, I love you more than words can express," he murmured, his voice is cracking. "It pains me to realize that my attempts to shield you ended up causing more harm than good."

We look at each one's eyes like we both knew what to say.

"I long to remember you without the shadow of another," he confessed, his voice heavy with longing, punctuated by a pregnant pause that echoed with unspoken yearning. "If only your heart didn't belong to another, Dana. I've never felt love for anyone else since you."

His words stirred up a storm of emotions within me, each one hitting me right in the heart. Even though I knew I needed to share what Bathel had said, I couldn't shake off his presence. It was like he was right there with me, making it hard to focus on anything else.

I simply shook my head, unwilling to entertain the notion. "I highly doubt it," I murmured, averting my gaze, but he gently caught my chin once more, compelling me to meet his eyes.

His fingertip grazed the corner of my lips, a sensation unlike any other touch I had experienced. There was something distinct about his touch, something that stirred unfamiliar emotions within me. Despite my reluctance to be touched, particularly by Ares Zander, the memories of pain he had inflicted, his captivating allure proved to be a powerful distraction.

His touch felt deliberate as his finger traced the curve of my lips, his gaze fixed intently on my face.

"Can you prove to me that my influence over you has diminished?" he inquired, each word intensifying the rapid beat of my heart.

His hands cradled my cheeks as he drew me closer, his lips descending upon mine with deliberate slowness. Though I initially remained still, the warmth of his kiss ignited a desire within me, urging me to respond. Instead, a soft moan escaped my lips, betraying the intensity of my longing.

"Comeback to me," he whispered against my mouth, his kisses relentless as he explored the contours of my lips. His touch ventured lower, teasing at the waistband of my shirt, igniting a tantalizing anticipation of what was to come.

As I attempted to reciprocate his kiss, he abruptly pulled away, leaving me with a sense of longing and desperation written across my face.

"I see you haven't changed at all, Dana," he remarked, a hint of pride coloring his voice, his eyes gleaming with a familiar spark.

I can feel something different in my body - a blend of comfort and embarrassment, I uttered softly, "You shouldn't have done that..."

"Why not?" he inquired, his expression a mixture of curiosity and intrigue, his gaze locked on mine, searching for answers.

"I was just..." I coughed, pretending to be unsettled. "This feels... wrong," I murmured, my hand instinctively reaching to wipe my lips, a facade of disgust masking the undeniable pleasure I had moments before.

  He smirked knowingly. "Oh, Dana-"

"Let's not dwell on it, okay?" I interjected, swiftly changing the subject. "Kissing is so childish, like teenagers hooking up. It doesn't hold any significance for me anymore." I laughed, attempting to brush off the moment with a casual demeanor.

"I'm begging you, just respect my boundaries," I pleaded, noting the shift in his demeanor.

"You know I'll always prioritize your wishes and respect your decisions-" he began.

"The Black River Pack's potential for attack looms over us like a dark cloud," I interjected, urgency seeping into every word. "With Blaire's presence possibly exposed, the very foundation of our safety is jeopardized," I continued, my heart heavy with concern and fear.

"I'm begging you, just let me do this one thing," I pleaded earnestly.

He was at a loss for words, clearly taken aback by my request.

"Dana, you can't simply brush everything aside with a single sentence in that message-" he started to protest.

"I understand, but please, just allow me to do this one thing," I interjected, cutting him off.

His jaw clenched tightly as he spoke, his voice low and controlled. "What?"

"I know you're prepared for this situation, and I understand what's at stake," he continued, his tone firm.

"I don't care about any of that," I interrupted firmly.

"Let me do one thing," I pleaded, my voice trembling with determination. "Allow me to seek revenge for Blaire. After that, I'll leave this pack. It will be the end of everything, and you'll have your forgiveness."
