CHAPTER 109 She Stabbed You

  Ares

Dana's words cut deep, but I'm determined to mend what's broken, to earn her forgiveness at any cost. The ache of longing for what we once shared gnaws at me relentlessly, yet I refuse to surrender to despair.

Though her words ring true, I won't simply acquiesce. Instead, I'll persist in my pursuit of her, refusing to let her slip away without a fight.

"You're diving too deep," Ander remarked as we stood on the pack's rooftop, our gazes fixated on the ground below.

"I can't help but think about her," I replied softly, my thoughts consumed by her presence, unwilling to elaborate further.

"She stabbed you," Ander reminded me, his tone laced with concern.

"And yet, I love it and would let her do it anytime," I replied, meeting his gaze steadily. Instantly, his expression shifted, a mixture of shock and confusion dancing across his features.

I smiled wryly. "You'll never quite grasp where I'm coming from," I told him, a hint of resignation in my voice as I recognized the truth in his words.

"You've always been in love with her," Ander continued, his gaze unwavering. "If she means that much to you, you have to show it. Take action to protect not just her, but everyone," he urged. His words hung heavy in the air, and I remained silent, knowing deep down that he was right.

"It was my fault," I muttered, frustration evident in the way I ran my fingers through my hair, the feeling within my wolf adding to my agitation.

Ander clicked his tongue in disapproval. "You never cease to blame yourself," he remarked. "And I never tire of hearing it. But we need to address the situation with Blaire as-" His words were abruptly cut off by the sudden intrusion of a group of wolves, their aggressive entrance shattering the calmness of our pack.

"What the hell," Ander grumbled, his fur bristling with tension.

My heart clenched at the thought of Dana. "The Black River Pack," I whispered, dread creeping over me like a shadow.

"Damn it. They're furious. They're onto us. How did this occur!?" Ander exclaimed, his frustration palpable.

"A betrayer or they found it out by themselves," I corrected him, my fear overshadowed by a sense of determination.

What truly frightened me was the possibility of harm coming to Dana.

Ander utilized his wolf's swiftness to charge towards them. Chaos erupted as numerous wolves flooded our pack's grounds, their howls echoing through the air. It was evident they were solely after me, as they made no move to harm anyone else.

"These bastards," I muttered furiously, my anger boiling within me.

"Now, must I engage in combat?" Blaze inquired, his voice tinged with concern. "I sense impending danger, and it's unsettling!" he exclaimed, his alarm evident.

"Maintain your composure," I reassured him. "I'll take care of this," I asserted, my tone resolute.

Outside, Ander and Drake confronted the menacing group of wolves while panic spread among the people, whispers filling the air. Meanwhile, I rushed down to the dungeon in search of Dana and Blaire, only to find it empty.

Though I trusted Dana's ability to defend herself, a nagging worry gnawed at me, especially with Blaire's wolf still unconscious but potentially regaining consciousness soon.

With no other option, I bolted out of the pack house, only to come face-to-face with the human form of the Black River Pack, led by Blaire's father, Hernando. His eyes blazed with fury, a storm of anger brewing within him.

  "What's going on here?"

  "This is terrifying,"

  "They're discussing the Luna,"

"I'm relieved you've arrived," Hernando said sharply as I approached, his demeanor tense.

I offered a smile. "Just trying to keep things light-"

"I don't have time for jokes," he interjected aggressively, his gaze piercing. I remained unfazed by his hostility.

"You think I'm unaware..." Hernando mumbled, his voice trembling with rage, "that you brought that omega back into this pack, and now my daughter is missing?" His hands shook as he spoke, his agitation evident.

I remained silent, observing the fear emanating from the surrounding people.

"Answer the question or face the consequences!" his beta demanded sternly.

Taking a deep breath, I acknowledged the truth. "You're correct," I admitted, disregarding what Ander was supposed to say.

Hernando's jaw clenched tightly, his neck muscles tensing as he grappled with the harsh reality before him. His disbelief was palpable, but ultimately, he couldn't deny the truth.

"How dare you!" he seethed, his fingers tightening around my neck.

Ander and Drake attempted to intervene, but they were swiftly overwhelmed by Hernando's reinforcements. They signaled to the other warriors to stand down, leaving me alone to face Hernando's wrath.

Hernando's eyes bore into mine, filled with fury as he tightened his grip around my neck. "Where is my daughter!?" he bellowed, his voice laced with desperation and anger. "What have you done to her?! Are you truly replacing her with that omega beggar-"

"Dana is not a beggar!" I roared, pushing him away with all my strength. The shock on everyone's faces was evident as I defended Dana vehemently, without a hint of hesitation.

"Say whatever you want to me. Demand to know where your daughter's killer is, just as long as you leave Dana out of this," I challenged.

"Leave her out?" Hernando chuckled bitterly. "If that girl didn't exist, I'm certain Blaire wouldn't have done anything!"

"So, it's Dana's fault for merely existing? It's her fault that your daughter killed her parents when she was just a child?" I paused, my anger simmering beneath the surface as I approached him. "Don't try to twist the truth, Hernando-"

"You only manipulated us..." He interjected, his voice seething with rage.

I laughs. "Who told you that?" I asked. "A great point-"

"Tell me where she is!" Hernando yelled once more, his grip tightening around my neck as he choked me.

His guards blocked any chance of escape, leaving him with the opportunity to end my life.

"I'll kill you and that omega if you don't tell me where my daughter is!"

"I'm the only one who knows where your daughter is," Dana's voice suddenly echoed around us.

Hernando released his hold on me, his guards stepping aside as Dana emerged, her white dress stained with blood. I was left bewildered, unsure of what was unfolding before me.

"Dana..." I whispered anxiously, my concern for her overwhelming.

I longed to rush to her side, to inspect her for any signs of injury.

"You must be that omega who's caused all this trouble..." Hernando sneered. "What a shame to be replaced by someone like you-"

"You're seeking your daughter?" Dana interrupted, her tone indifferent to his words.

"I've been searching for her," Hernando replied.

Dana smiled coldly. "Too late. I've already killed her."
