Dana
Before the killing,
Blaire lay unconscious in the dungeon, her body limp as if sedated. I knew this was my chance, the perfect opportunity to exact my revenge.
To make her pay for the agony she inflicted.
For what she took from me-my parents, my child, my reputation.
The wounds she inflicted still throbbed with pain, a constant reminder of her cruelty. Yet, I refused to let the memories consume me. I could never truly heal until she was no longer a threat.
I dragged Blaire's unconscious body into the forest, her form limp in my grasp as if lifeless. With a surge of anger and determination, I flung her onto the ground, covering her with heavy stones. As I stood there, I watched in silence as she stirred, her fingers twitching, a soft groan escaping her lips.
"Mom..." she mumbled deliriously, her voice filled with longing for something that no longer existed.
I remained impassive as Blaire slowly regained consciousness, her eyes locking onto mine with a mixture of surprise and defiance. Despite the gravity of the situation, she didn't betray a hint of fear, instead wearing a smirk that irked me to no end.
"Oh..." she murmured as she struggled to her feet, coughing slightly as she settled onto a nearby stone, her gaze never wavering from mine.
"Hello?" she asked, her voice laced with sarcasm. "You must despise me so much that you chose to bring me here."
"When are you going to repent?" I demanded, my frustration boiling over.
"What am I supposed to repent for?" she retorted, her demeanor nonchalant, as if unaware of the wrongdoings she had caused.
"Everything," I reiterated, my expression stern and unforgiving.
Blaire covered her mouth in mock surprise, letting out a laugh. "Oh my God, I'm speechless..." she chuckled. "Why should I change to please someone else? I'm not like you, so insecure that you use a man as a rebound, train yourself just to gain approval, and seek revenge," she taunted.
Her words cut deep, fueling the flames of my anger even further.
I maintained my composure, a small smile playing at the corners of my lips.
"You're free to believe whatever you want," I replied calmly. "But it's frustrating that you never seem to learn from your mistakes," I added.
Blaire scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Is this your idea of revenge?" she questioned, running her fingers through her hair. "Because honestly, it's rather dull," she sighed, biting her lip in boredom.
"I just wish-" Blaire's words were abruptly cut off when I pointed a gun at her, its barrel loaded with lethal silver bullets. With a click, I cocked the gun, fixing her with a steely gaze as I aimed it at her forehead. Her eyes widened in shock as the situation sunk in.
"I know you're prepared to die," I stated coldly. "You're mocking the seriousness of this situation," I added, a sinister smile creeping across my face as she fell silent.
"Do you have any last words-" I began, but Blaire interrupted with a laugh, attempting to stand. However, her efforts were futile as her toes were bound tightly to the trees beside her, leaving her unable to escape.
"Shit. Shit. Shit," Blaire muttered repeatedly, her panic evident.
She had truly messed up.
"You've made a grave mistake," I said with a hint of amusement, before pulling the trigger into the sky. The gunshot rang out, the explosion reverberating through the forest, though it would go unheard within the confines of the pack. However, Blaire's scream pierced the air.
I smiled as I blew on the gun before fixing it once again, pointing it directly at her.
"Have you thought through everything?" I inquired, a smile playing on my lips as I bit down on my cheek.
"Release me!" she demanded, her tone desperate. "I can't believe you're resorting to such childish behavior, Dana. Did you forget that I killed your parents? It was their fault! And I was just a teenager at the time. You should learn to forgive and forget, my Goddess-'"
"Forgive and forget do not exist in my vocabulary when you're in my presence, Blaire," I interjected calmly.
Blaire's nervous gulp was audible, betraying her inner mind. "You still can't do this to me!" she protested, her voice trembling with defiance. "Do you want me to offer you money?"
"I don't need your money," I replied, my voice firm and resolute. "Don't presume that we're beneath you means relying on something you possess. Not everything revolves around you," I retorted, my tone icy as I held her gaze, refusing to back down.
A mocking laugh escaped Blaire's lips. "Oh shit, you want my man? Take him!"
"He was never yours to begin with," I countered, a teasing smile dancing on my lips. "You might have thought you had him, but Ares was never truly yours," I added, emphasizing the finality of her loss.
"Oh Goddess, what do you want-" she yelled once more, her voice filled with desperation, but I cut her off as I pulled the trigger. The shot narrowly missed her, striking the stone she was sitting on instead.
"You need to put an end to this!" she pleaded, her tone laced with defiance.
"I don't appreciate that tone," I whispered, a smile playing on my lips. "Ms. Blaire Van Everhart, you were never even half of what Ares is, and you never will be. What you desire will never be yours," I added, watching as she clenched her jaw in frustration. I knew my words struck a nerve, causing her and her wolf inner turmoil they couldn't express.
"Fuck you..." Her tears began to fall.
I hadn't anticipated her tears, finding the situation both amusing and absurd.
"Oh, my dear..." I snickered, unable to contain my amusement.
"I'm sorry, alright? I'm sorry if I was the reason you lost your baby, but... You know what? I regret it, and I'll never do it again... I promise-" Her words were cut off as I pulled the trigger.
Blood sprayed.
