　　I woke up to an empty bed, the space next to me cold. Christian was gone. I sat up, rubbing my eyes and feeling disoriented. My heart sank as I looked around the room, hoping to see some sign of him, his jacket tossed over a chair, his phone charging by the nightstand. But there was nothing.
