　　But she was not there, it was another couple. I don't remember the exact moment I gave up hope.

　　Maybe it was 6:45 p.m. when the candle between burned half its length. Or maybe it was 7:10, when the waiter returned for the third time, this time not even bothering to hide the pity in his eyes. Maybe it was when I looked around and realized I was the only one left at a table for two.
