"Hello?" I said, not knowing who was on the other end of the line.

There was a pause, and then I heard a woman's voice. "Hello, Alpha Jake? It's Milan Megan."

I was a bit surprised to hear from Milan. I thought that she wouldn't call since she was still skeptical about bringing Ava to live with me in the pack.
