I was in my office going through some files when I heard a knock on my door and when I ordered the person to enter, Ava walked in.

"Hey Father." she bowed and then walked close to my table smiling.

"Happy birthday!" she brought a gift out and handed it to me.

I was surprised. I hadn't expected her to remember my birthday, let alone get me a gift. I unwrapped it slowly, savoring the moment.
