CHAPTER 11: The Heart of Stone

My skin shines like the moon above the sky, my lips as red as my blood that will flow on his skin, the red dress that I am wearing right now made me which perfectly created even more perfect at that moment and all the eyes were on me when I stepped out of my room.

Lara turned out still waiting for me outside; I thought she went back to her room to prepare herself but my guess was incorrect, she was there to do her job, not went to the party.

“Lara, what are you doing here?” I asked her as I figure out she was still waiting outside of my room; my gaze was on her but my hands were busy shutting the door.

“I was waiting for you, why?” She replied and look confused when I throw that question; her brow raised and she was waiting for clarification.

“I thought you went back to your room and prepare yourself!” I said and now my hands off the door handle; the door finally locked and I am fully paying attention to Lara who was still standing next to my door.

“No! I will not do that” She chuckled and continued. “The party is not for me, I am just ‘the guardian angel’ not a royal student! Moreover, a party is not my cup of coffee and I’d prefer to stay in my room if I got no job like right now, but there is a thing that I like about a party!” She said with a smile on her face.

I nodded and said nothing after listening to her declaration, Lara and I then make our way to the main ballroom of the training facility and as I said, all the eyes were on me as we both walked through the corridor.

My eyes can’t spot the Alpha when I walked, not even his scent getting into my nose at that time and it made me wonder why the Alpha is not there.

The overthinking hit me the moment I step down the stair, the moment when I feel confident immediately vanished when I see the Alpha and the girl that beat me yesterday, the Omega; she is wearing a super tight dress that showed her ass and chest, her privilege blond hair made everything she wears perfect and there is no way, the Alpha has no interest in her.

They are holding hands at that time and the Alpha’s left hand was also wrapped around the Omega’s waist which broke my heart because that should have been me, not her. My chest became stuffy the moment I saw their closeness and I quickly took my eyes off them.

The two of them did not see me coming, and the crowd made Lara and I vanished into it, thanks to the Moon Goddess I finally realize that the Alpha has someone else and there is no place for me to come into his life.

Music filled the ballroom and all students gathered in it, but I don’t see any teachers and parents in this place which made me confuse so I asked Lara about it.

“Hey, where are the parents and teachers?” I asked her in a loud voice; I did that because the noises beat my voice.

“Ah, they’re not here yet! Maybe will come in an hour but now we can have fun before they’re coming” Lara responded as we both kept walking through the crowd, looking for our last destination.

My guardian angel led me to the drink section which I don’t like because never in my life did those kinds of water get into my throat and I just turned seventeen days ago, my parents will punish me if they know I cross the line.

“This is the thing that I like I told you earlier!” Lara quickly grabbed a glass of maroon-colored drink from the top of the table, running it toward me with the intention to give it to me.

“I don’t think I can have that” I throw a toothed smile at her as a sign of rejection. “I don’t, you know, I don’t even have a clue what was inside it!” I said.

A nineteen years old girl who stood next to me laughed at my reaction, my guardian angel can’t stop her laugh at that time and her face turned red as a tomato.

“What do you think it is? Blood” She kept chuckling and continued. “We’re not vampires, its’ wine! And you can’t be dead because of this” Lara shook her head as disbelieved to see my reaction. “And you’re seventeen, you can have it!” She declared, pointing a glass of wine at me. “Come on! Take this” Lara demanded me to take a glass of wine that she held.

I was hesitant to take that wine at first, but when my mind led me to the Alpha and his new girl, the hesitation that I had vanished, I took the glass from Lara and was ready to taste my first drink. But before I could taste my first drink, all parents and teachers arrived, the casual atmosphere became tense the moment they came and the crowd became silent.

“Shit” I mumbled and quickly place the glass of wine back on the table of the drink section. I also took Lara’s and put it back; I don’t want my parents to see me like this.

I grabbed her hand and took her away from the drink section, Lara and I move to blend into the crowd so that my parents will not punch me with a question if they saw me in the drink section, the two of us then stood right behind the Alpha; I have no idea he was there.

“Shit” I cursed myself again when I saw him and his new girl standing right in front of us; they both did not notice my existence.

“What’s the matter?” Lara asked and I immediately shut her by placing my palm on her mouth.

“Say nothing! We got to go as soon as we can” I whispered as I covered her mouth, Lara's eyes wide opened as she nodded; having no idea what was going on.

I was about to pull out from the spot at that time but the Alpha spot us before we could get away from him; he immediately released that girl’s waist the moment he notice my present and he smiled at me afterward, acting as if I never saw their closeness.

“What a bastard!” I mumbled deep inside, staring at him with hatred because I felt jealous.

It wasn’t his fault if he likes that Omega and it was not my place to be jealous of them, the Alpha has the right to do what he likes and decide about whom he will be with.

My guardian angel seemed to notice that I do feel jealous of the couple in front of us; she noticed my feelings toward the Alpha, Lara then sighed and took me away from the spot; we walked in a sea of crowds just to get away from them.

“Where are you taking me?” I asked Lara who was still pulling my hand in the sea of crowds.

She said nothing but kept pulling me away from our latest spot, turned out Lara dragged me to the end of the line that will make us invisible which made me relieved because I will have no chance to see him and his new girl again.

“Here we go” Lara released my wrist; the two of us stopped our step and stood right behind two guys.

“You almost tear my wrist apart!” I declared, caressing my wrist because it felt hurt. “You should just ask me to follow you, not dragging me as if I was your prey!” I rolled my eyes in annoyance.

“Huh, my bad” She chuckled as continued. “I notice you like that Lycan a lot and you got jealous when he was with someone else” Lara stated. “So as a professional I am here not only to protect you from danger but I am also here to protect your feelings!” She said.

“That’s unnecessary” I respond with a slight annoyance in my voice, rolling my eyes. “I am not jealous!” I said but Lara did not believe me.

“Lie to yourself as you can…” Lara responded. “But sure those eyes can’t lie to those who saw them” She ended.

Her words pierced every inch of my heart and made me could not breathe as I used to; I was denied to myself when I said I was never jealous when I saw his hand wrapping around the Omega’s waist.

Sure it broke my heart at that time; the feel same as when the Moon Goddess takes her creation’s soul, even though I have never experienced death before I could clearly imagine how it feels.

“You have no clue who am I, Lara! I am not that weak”

“And I will never waste my time just for seeking for a love”
