CHAPTER 24: The Heir First Coat

“I’m ready to see my mom”

My wish finally escaped my pasty lips. There is no doubt in my mind when I said those words, only the fear of the fact that will befall me after I throw those words.

I was afraid that I could not accept the fact after knowing the thing that happened to my mother, my body shaking before even figuring out what happened, but I got no choice but to dig into it before it was too late, I’m ready to take the bullet.

My grandmother looked at me with grief in her eyes the moment she heard my words, she gulped in a heavy breath before she started.

“If you ready for it, I wouldn’t mind taking you to see her...” She said.

I nodded and say nothing, wearing a black dress and red shoes is enough for me that day, no make-up was needed to cover my pale face.

“Grab your purse!” My grandmother demanded. “See you downstairs…” She declared and my grandmother left my room with her bodyguards afterward; their steps surrounded the place.

I grabbed my silver purse and rested it on my shoulder, the doctor popped out of nowhere with a hypodermic needle afterward, and it startled me to death because I thought he will inject me in my grandmother’s order so the plan will be failed.

“Hey, don’t ever dare to do that to me!” I growled; stepping back from the place I stood.

The doctor chuckled and he shook his head before he started his words, my action seemed hilarious to him.

“I was the one who kept you alive, why would you think that I will kill you?” He said. “Your grandmother told me that you badly want to get off your room when I don’t even say you can” The doctor paused and he walked to the life support machine; I paid attention to him at that time.

“Your life depended on this” He explained as he pointed to the life support machine with his index finger. “And thirty percent was on me” The doctor declared and he continued.

“So before you step out of this room, I demanded you to take one injection!” He said.

“Don’t be afraid, it's just a small bite! The vampires did worse” The doctor made a joke that kind of triggered me.

“Stop it, just inject me!” I demanded and then I make my way toward him; running my arm at him afterward.

“Very good…” The doctor smiled and injected me after that.

I could feel the medicine gets into my blood the moment he injected me, it ran all over my body and charge me; my weak body immediately turned stronger that time.

“Alright, you’re ready to go” The doctor stated as he put the injection off me.

Without wasting any more time I quickly walked downstairs, the blue feelings surround the place the moment I saw all my relatives were there; they stared at me as if I woke from death but were glad when they see me.

As far as the eye can see not even my mother’s shadow standing in the living room, I don’t feel her existence the moment my last step on the ground and because of that, my tears began to fall.

“Adrian put the coat on Elora’s shoulder! She’s ready” My grandmother commanded, by that time all my relatives had already got up from their seats; we are ready to go.

A coat symbolizes there will be a funeral ceremony for the family, at thirteen seconds to five I realized that my mother is not with me anymore.

My heart busted into pieces, I’d rather be dead than be in a different world from my mother, I want to kill myself the moment I figure out she is leaving this world.

I cried and my father hugged me, my tears began to fall onto his coat, and his tears fell onto my hair. He felt the pain that I had but sure mine is bigger than his because he never loved my mother the way I did.

“How could this happen to us?” I said between my cry; I was still in my father’s arms at that time and was disbelieving the fact.

My father said nothing but kept hugging me, he caressed my back to give me strength but to no avail, his treatment never reduced my pain. Instead of feeling better, I cried even harder and it bothered my grandmother.

“Your tears will suffer your mother” She declared. “And that will not make her back!” My grandmother said.

The moment I heard her speak, I slowly get my face off my father’s torso. With puffy eyes, I looked at my grandmother.

“You have no idea how I feel” I started my word and it shocked everyone who was in the room because no one in my family ever dare to talk to her the way I did. “Because you never like her” I exclaimed with teary eyes as I looked at her.

“Elora, watch your words” My father tried to stop me from disrespecting my grandmother.

“It’s okay, Adrian… she is grieving! Let her express her emotion, I don’t mind” My grandmother hung her hand and stopped my father. “Now say what you want to say, my love” She waited for me to continue so does all people in the room.

But I said nothing and lowered my face down to the ground; felt embarrassed because I feel I crossed my line by talking that way to my grandmother. I then wiped my tears and took a deep breath to settle myself down.

My grandmother noticed that my temper is not surrounding the place anymore, so she started again and asked me. “Are you ready to see your mother, love?” She inquired.

With irregular breathing and chest tightness, I nodded. All my relatives in the room immediately put on their coats the moment they saw my reaction and my father places the black coat on my grandmother’s shoulder; the thick black fur coat that is made from the enemies’ fur now covered my grandmother and we are ready to go to the chapel.

All of us leave my house, my grandmother and I was in the same car at that time and my father is in the car behind us. We are driving to the chapel which is located in Eden Spring downtown.

I couldn’t wait to see my mother so I tell the driver to drive even more speedily; the car's speed increased afterward but it was still slow for me.

My grandmother ran her eyes to me the moment she heard my command, she told me that I need to calm down because my mother is not going anywhere; she was still in the chapel since the first time they got her body there.

After ten minutes of driving, we finally reached the chapel; all of Eden Spring’s people were there and surrounded the place. There are more than hundreds of people standing outside of the chapel, they can’t get into the chapel because they are not part of the royal families, but those people show their love by being with us.

I stepped out of the car the moment we arrived, the red shoes that I wore landed right in front of the chapel driveway, followed by all my relatives that were in another car, we all get off the cars.

The guards immediately approached us and some of them blocked the people from getting closer to us. I got a flower from a little girl in the crowd when I was on my way into the chapel; she smiled in grief the moment she gave that flower as if she felt me.

“May she rest in peace...” The little girl said after giving me the flower, I smiled in response and continued to walk.

The Red-Bloods finally stepped into the chapel and my eyes immediately spot a coffin in the middle of the chapel, without wasting any more time, I make my way full speed toward the coffin; still holding my tears.

Omega Athena’s coffin was still opened the moment we arrived; that coffin had never been closed before because we didn’t close the family coffin before the funeral, that’s not our tradition.

That were only guards and a priest in the chapel at that moment, the Red-Bloods didn’t invite the royals because my mother’s funeral is not even started yet; they were waiting for me and I have no idea why.
