CHAPTER 26: Named the Wolfless to the Throne

Omega Athena’s heart rate became even weakened. Blood soaked her body and never stop flowing. My father told me they had done everything to keep my mother alive but the Moon Goddess love her more than us, she took my mother with her that day.

I am using my first coat for my mother’s funeral. I got this coat from my first battle in South Side by killing a female rogue which is younger and weaker than me, now I felt the grief that her family might feel after losing her.

And it made me realize that war is not the thing that makes the Red-Bloods the most mighty pack in this land, war made us ever weaker because, at any time, the rogue could kill us when we are separate from the pack, just like what they did to my mother and I need to change the pack’s perspective and stop the war.

“Dad, I think I’m ready for the throne”

I shocked my father the moment those words escaped my lips, never been in his life my father thought I will accept the throne that easily and what surprised him even more because he knew I never wanted the throne, I was forced to.

“I will talk to your grandmother about this, she must be thrilled” With a smile on his face, my father declared. “I’m so proud of you! And I bet your mother too” He said, my father then pointed his gaze to my mother and stared at her.

I faked my smile to convince him that I do want the throne; he has no idea that I had plans to stop the war with rogues and other packs when I’m on the throne.

If my relatives know about the plan before my coronation, they will refuse Adrian’s family to be on the next throne and choose La-Luna as the replacement.

But I will not let that happen because I will keep this on my own before the coronation, and when I get the treasure in my hand, no one dares to against me and my plan will run easier.

My father kissed my forehead and he then kissed my mother before lifting off the place, he smiled at me after kissing my mother’s forehead and told me that he will see my grandmother talk about my decision and he left afterward.

“I will do what you desire mom…”

“You dreamed to see the war end”

“I will make it end for you”

I talked to my mother’s dead body; wishing that she will hear me wherever she is. Then my cousin popped out and stand next to me, I was so afraid that he listened to my declaration back then.

“Harrison?” I got surprised when I saw him standing next to me.

“Hello, Elora! Omega Athena… may your soul rest in peace” He bowed to pay my mother respect; Harrison then kiss the side of my mother’s coffin, that is the Red-Blood’s tradition to kiss the family coffin after meeting the body and that is a symbol of sorrow.

My cousin hated me so much because my family had been on the throne for hundreds of years and sure I believe he expected me to die in the accident. If I wasn’t here, Harrison La Luna might be the future candidate of the Red-Blood’s next heir.

“I’m so glad you’re still here!” He said and I scoffed after listening to his words.

“Never thought you wanted me to be alive before” I responded in annoyance.

“I’m not that heartless, family is family! And I know you didn’t want the throne to fall on me, thanks Moon Goddess, you are still alive so the throne didn’t fall on me!” He stated but I didn’t believe him. “And sorry for your loss...” Harrison said with a slight grief in his voice; I know that was a lie.

My father then came with the rest of the relatives and my grandmother was included in the crowd. I stepped back the moment they came to give them some space to pay respect and grieve for my mother.

I stepped away from the grieving spot and made my way toward the chapel seats, I sat on it afterward and looked at all my relatives who were grieving around my mother’s coffin from the seat after they were finished.

The La Luna was one of them and all I can see were lies when the La Luna paid respect to my mother’s dead body because when she was still alive, the La Luna was the one who was against my mother, they never liked her because she gave birth to the next heir, me. Plus my mother does not come from a royal family.

After an hour of grieving, they finally leave the place one by one. The chapel which was full of the royals is now empty. Only me, my father, grandmother, the priest, and the guards left after that.

The burial will start tomorrow but deepest in my heart I still want to see her and I don’t want my mother to be buried that fast so I asked my grandmother if maybe we can hold it a little longer.

“I’m sorry love, we can’t do that” My grandmother declared. “We have to free Omega Athena so she can meet the Moon Goddess. You don’t want her to wait any longer, right?” She inquired and I nodded in response, realizing that my grandmother was right.

My mother had been waiting for a week, her soul still stuck in this world because of me and I don’t want to make her suffer by making her waiting even longer. I agreed with the burial date, the burial will be held at eleven in the morning.

Queen Hermione, the queen of darkness, my grandmother looked thrilled and I assumed that must have come from the decision that I made earlier. She heard everything from my father but she was still hesitant that the words came from me, so to make sure; she started to talk about it with me.

“I heard you talk to your father about the throne…” Queen Hermione started. “But I want to hear it from you, Elora!” She said.

“Yes, grandmother, I’ve told him I’m ready for the throne” I responded.

As if I gave her an electric shock, my grandmother smiled after listening to my response; couldn’t believe that her granddaughter change her mind that easily.

I gave her a convincing smile when I spoke to her, faking everything to make her believe that I do want the throne more than anyone else.

“You know what, sweetie! Everyone in this family would die for the throne…”

“And you broke my heart when I notice you did not into the throne the way everyone does”

“Your father had forced you… not because he wants you to, but because you were born for it, you are blessed!”

The queen of darkness finally got what she wanted. She wanted me to continue her evil plan to eradicate the rogues and every pack that block her way including the Night-Blood. And I will let her think that way because actually, our goals are inversely proportional.

“Yes, grandmother, now I realized everything… I realized that this is my fate and no one can take this from me” I convincingly declared and it made her ears even highly raised; I do enjoy this moment because after I get the throne and the treasure, everything will change and the new era will come.

Queen Hermione told all the guards to escort the council building because tomorrow, after my mother’s burial she will declare that her only granddaughter would soon ascend the throne.

My heart dropped out of my chest the moment she told me that, and so does my father who was standing next to her. We are thinking about the same thing; I still had no wolf.

“Mother, I don’t think this is a good time to declare this” My father tried to stop my grandmother.

“Why, Adrian? Good news needs to spread” Queen Hermione responded. “We can’t keep the good news on our own! Eden Spring’s citizen had to know about this good news” She was excited but not with my father, he look terrified so am I.

If Queen Hermione knows that I still had no wolf, I am sure she will kill both my father and me or force my father to have more children which are stressed me out because I don’t expect a step-brother or sister and after listening to my father’s love word toward my mother, sure he will not get married again, we are doomed.
